Chapter 436 It Was Dashiell Who Wanted to Seperate
Cecilia yanked Seraphina outta bed, asking, "Did you seriously sleep all afternoon?"
Seraphina was all floppy and useless.
Even after Cecilia dragged her up, she just slumped against the headboard, refusing to budge.
She lazily mumbled, "I'm in recovery mode, need my beauty sleep."
She even looked kinda smug, leaving Cecilia totally speechless.
Cecilia helped her up, saying, "Go freshen up, it's almost dinner time."
Seraphina struggled a bit before finally following Cecilia to the bathroom.
Cecilia handed her a hot towel and said, "Wake up already."
Seraphina wiped her face, trying hard to snap out of it.
Cecilia waited beside her, casually asking, "Did you stay up late again last night?"
Seraphina didn't respond.
Usually, her silence meant Cecilia was spot on.
"I told you to rest, but you stay up all night and sleep all day? Seraphina, can you take better care of yourself? Do you wanna live a good life or what?" Cecilia couldn't help but scold.
"I think I'm fine now. You don't get it, after the miscarriage, even my stomach feels better, the world seems brighter, it's not as bad as you say." Seraphina shot back.
"You're still young now, of course, you feel fine. Once you get older, all sorts of problems will pop up, and this is the root cause," Cecilia said.
But Seraphina looked totally indifferent.
"Did you hear me?" Cecilia was really frustrated.
Seraphina always acted like a kid.
"Yeah, yeah, I know," Seraphina casually agreed.
"Are you done washing?" Cecilia asked.
"Yep." Seraphina nodded.
"Let's go downstairs for dinner. The maid said it's almost ready, don't keep her waiting," Cecilia urged.
Seraphina followed Cecilia downstairs.
Since they were kids, even though Cecilia was only half a year older, Seraphina always followed her lead.
She always felt like Cecilia had this "mom" vibe.
When they got downstairs, Atticus had just come home from work and was chilling on the couch, waiting for Seraphina.
He just sat there, not even asking the maid to wake her up.
Sometimes Cecilia thought Atticus spoiled Seraphina way too much, making her totally unruly.
"Cecilia, you're here." Atticus greeted her warmly.
"Hey, Mr. Everhart," Cecilia greeted politely.
"Hey there." Atticus quickly got up from the couch, "Let's have dinner together."
"Sure." Cecilia nodded obediently.
Seraphina was much colder towards Atticus, showing her dislike openly.
But honestly, if she didn't care, she wouldn't have tried to off herself after Atticus's suicide in her past life.
Thinking about those past life scenes still freaked Cecilia out, so she decided to have a serious talk with Seraphina tonight.
At the dining table, Atticus kept urging Cecilia to eat more, so she ended up eating a lot.
So much that Seraphina was puzzled and asked, "Cecilia, are you pregnant?"
"What the heck are you talking about?" Cecilia was about to lose it.
Lately, everyone was asking her if she was pregnant.
She even felt she might let them down if she didn't get pregnant.
"Then why are you eating so much? Aren't you scared of gaining weight?" Seraphina asked.
"It's just 'cause the food here is bomb," Cecilia said, trying to sound convincing, but Seraphina wasn't buying it.
Hearing Cecilia say she liked the food, Atticus quickly piled more onto her plate. "Cecilia, eat up. Don't listen to Seraphina's nonsense. Eating a bit more won't make you gain weight. And if you like the food here, come over more often. Besides the maids, it's just Seraphina and me here, it's pretty lonely."
"Okay." Cecilia nodded quickly.
With just Atticus and Seraphina in the house, it was kinda lonely.
Plus, Seraphina basically ignored Atticus, making him even lonelier.
After dinner, Seraphina dragged Cecilia to the backyard of the Everhart Mansion, chilling in a pavilion while the maid served them tea.
Seraphina lounged in a comfy chair, swaying back and forth, looking all carefree.
It seemed like the car accident and miscarriage a few days ago hadn't fazed her at all.
"So, what did you wanna talk about today?" Seraphina asked, gazing at the twinkling stars.
"About you and Dashiell," Cecilia said straight up.
"I knew it," Seraphina said, looking like she saw it coming. "Go on."
Cecilia frowned.
Wasn't Seraphina always against Dashiell? Why the sudden change?
She didn't wanna overthink it; true friends don't have bad intentions.
"I want you and Dashiell to work things out," Cecilia started, then added, "The baby's gone, but you can have another one. That shouldn't be the reason for a divorce. You and Dashiell went through a lot to be together. I know you'll say Dashiell forced you, but whether it was forced or not, you got married, you chose to have his child. Seraphina, don't you think you like Dashiell?"
Seraphina's face was ice-cold.
She was unusually chill right now.
She turned to Cecilia and seriously asked, "Have you asked Dashiell?"
"What?" Cecilia said, confused.
"I said, have you asked Dashiell if he wants to stay married?" Seraphina repeated.
"Do I need to ask? Dashiell likes you so much. If you're willing to start over with him, I'm 100% sure he'll be down," Cecilia said confidently.
"Cecilia, you don't know Dashiell. I admit he's a great guy, good to everyone, but once you piss him off, he holds grudges. I accidentally caused his child to be miscarried, he'll never forget that. Do you know why I moved out of Dashiell's house? It's 'cause Dashiell wanted to separate, not me."
Cecilia pursed her lips.
She didn't expect Dashiell to be so deeply affected.
In her view, compared to the baby, Dashiell cared more about Seraphina.
"You keep pushing me to start over with Dashiell. So let me ask you, if you were me, if you had a miscarriage..." Seraphina started.
"Can you not?" Cecilia cut her off.
Seraphina rolled her eyes at Cecilia and said, "I'm just giving an example. If you had a miscarriage, and after that, Alaric ignored you and even wanted to separate, how would you feel? Would you still think Alaric loves you?"
