Chapter 509 The Outbreak of a Major Accident (2) Framing and False Accusation

Cecilia struggled to get Alaric back to bed, nearly worn out by the effort.

She started unbuttoning his shirt to make him more comfortable, but when she saw his eyes twinkling at her, she felt a shiver run down her spine.

What was up with Alaric tonight?

He looked so... lecherous.

"Let me help you clean up a bit. You're drunk, you should get some rest," she said.

"Honey," Alaric drawled, his voice low and full of mischief.

Cecilia bit her lip. Alaric was seriously seductive. Who could resist him?

"What's wrong?" she asked, trying to stay calm.

"Will you trust me?" he asked.

"What?" Cecilia was confused. Why was he asking this now?

"Come closer," he whispered.

She leaned in, her body brushing against his.

Alaric pulled her into his arms. "You have to believe me."

"What?" Cecilia's eyes widened. 'Believe you about what? You just want to take advantage of me!'

She couldn't resist him. But was it really just the alcohol talking?

Alaric was more intense than usual, and Cecilia found herself melting, becoming soft and alluring.

The next morning, Cecilia lay in bed, completely spent.

Last night had been wild, the craziest in a long time.

When Alaric got drunk, he lost all control. Just thinking about it made her tense up.

Now, the once fierce Alaric was holding her gently. "Good morning."

After a night like that, she felt like she hadn't slept at all, just woken up by the alarm.

"Want to take the day off?" Alaric asked.

"No need," Cecilia said. She had an important meeting to host and didn't want to inconvenience her team.

"Guess you're not too tired," Alaric chuckled.

Cecilia rolled her eyes. What a sarcastic comment.

"I used to think you were fragile, like you'd break at a touch. Didn't expect you to be so energetic," he teased.

"Stop it!" Cecilia's face turned bright red. She was mortified by his words.

If he hadn't been so relentless last night, she wouldn't have been moaning like that.

Alaric laughed, getting out of bed and scooping her up.

Neither of them had any clothes on, and the sudden exposure made Cecilia blush.

"Haven't I seen it all?" Alaric grinned. "I've seen every part of you!"

Cecilia was a bit annoyed. Why did women always seem so passive in these situations?

Alaric carried her into the bathroom and put her under the shower. They bathed together.

"If we weren't in a hurry, I'd love to take a bath with you in the tub," he said.

Good thing they were in a rush; otherwise, who knew what might happen.

After showering, Alaric helped her dry off and get dressed.

Living with Alaric made Cecilia happy. She didn't know how long it would last, but she was grateful for his love.

She had thought she'd lost love forever. That there would be no more love in her future.

On a whim, she stood on tiptoe and kissed Alaric on the cheek.

Alaric was a bit taken aback.

Cecilia wasn't usually this forward, and it made his heart race.

"Alaric, thank you," she said, her face a little red, her voice soft. Then she left the room.

Alaric watched her go, the warmth in his eyes slowly fading. His lips moved slightly as he murmured, "Cecilia, you have to believe me."

After breakfast, they left the house together. The thought of Alaric leaving made Cecilia feel a bit down, but knowing he'd be back for good in just half a month filled her with anticipation.

With mixed feelings, they walked out hand in hand. Just as they reached the entrance, three men in uniforms appeared.

"We're from the prosecutor's office. Here's my badge," the lead guy said formally. "Mr. Whitaker, we've received a report that you embezzled about $50 million while working at Harborvale. Please come with us to assist in the investigation."

Cecilia's face changed instantly. She looked at the officials, then at Alaric, who stayed calm but clearly darkened.

"Please come with us," the official repeated.

Alaric turned to Cecilia, who wanted to say something. He gave her a look she couldn't quite read and then followed the prosecutors.

Cecilia watched him go, gritting her teeth. She knew Alaric was being framed! He didn't need that money. Was Dominic behind this? Was he taking a desperate risk?

"Mrs. Whitaker," George said, looking unsettled. "What do we do?"

Cecilia snapped back to reality. She quickly called Cassius.

Cassius had been passionate all night. He had just fallen asleep when the phone woke him up. He was a bit impatient. "Cecilia, I'm not busy, but you have to consider that I'm sleeping..."

"Alaric was taken away by the prosecutors," Cecilia interrupted.

"What?" Cassius was instantly alert.

"Just now, he was charged with embezzling $50 million by abusing his position," Cecilia explained.

"Damn, this is a setup!" Cassius said angrily, now fully awake.

Lily had just finished washing up and came out to see Cassius looking like an angry lion, his hair all messy. She instinctively left the room, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire.

"I need to understand the situation ASAP, but I don't trust any lawyer right now. According to the laws of the Yakurosean Empire, we have to go through proper legal procedures. Do you have any suggestions?" Cecilia asked, trying to stay calm.

This wasn't a simple matter, but she needed to think clearly about how to solve it.

"I'll handle the lawyer," Cassius said directly.

"Also, if possible, can you use your dad's connections to find out which influential families are involved in Alaric's case? This isn't just Dominic's doing," Cecilia added.

Dominic didn't have that kind of power!
