Chapter 451 Cecilia Intentionally Makes Dominic Anxious
"You better think it through, we're on the same side!" Dominic barked before slamming the phone down.
He didn't spell it out.
After hanging up, Sebastian's mind was racing.
He teamed up with Dominic 'cause the guy could really hook him up with some sweet deals.
But now Dominic wanted him to do something shady, and Sebastian was seriously on the fence.
If he didn't go through with it, their partnership would hit a wall, maybe even blow up in his face.
He knew Dominic was the type to hold a grudge over the smallest thing.
If he didn't back Dominic, things would get ugly for sure.
Sebastian clenched his jaw.
Just then, the door swung open.
Sebastian's face shifted from icy to soft in a heartbeat.
He flashed a smile at Seraphina, "Hey Seraphina, what's up?"
"I'm about to lose it because of Atticus," Seraphina was on the edge.
Just thinking about how cocky Dashiell was earlier made her blood boil.
"Let it go," Sebastian tried to soothe her. "You know how much Atticus cares about Magnolia. He's only being nice to Dashiell because of her, don't let it get to you."
"It's just that he'll do anything for Magnolia! Back then, he didn't even see my mom one last time because of her. It drives me nuts!" Seraphina fumed.
"Chill out, getting mad won't fix anything," Sebastian said, trying to calm her down.
"How can you be so chill?" Seraphina looked at him. "Dashiell took your spot."
"Honestly, it doesn't matter to me. As long as I do my job well and keep Atticus happy, I'm good. You don't need to stress over it."
"The more you act like this, the guiltier I feel," Seraphina said.
"What's there to feel guilty about? I started with nothing. Now, working at the third-best company in the country, I'm grateful. Seriously, don't overthink it." Sebastian stood up and hugged her.
Seraphina was genuinely touched by his attitude.
She thought he'd be upset, but instead, he was comforting her.
He was the one who got hurt.
"Get back to work," Sebastian said, letting her go. "Don't let Atticus catch you slacking and think you're not serious."
"Okay." Seraphina nodded.
Sebastian smiled.
Seraphina left his office and went back to hers.
She was still feeling a bit ticked off.
So she called Cecilia.
Whenever something went down, she thought of Cecilia.
She vented about everything and then asked, "Don't you think Dashiell's being a jerk?"
"I think you're being a jerk," Cecilia shot back.
Seraphina was stunned, then asked, "Cecilia, did you get what I meant?"
"What does Dashiell working at the company have to do with you? Do you expect him to avoid any place you're at after the divorce? Seraphina, don't you think you're being a bit much?" Cecilia was getting annoyed.
"But it's my family's company," Seraphina argued.
"The company belongs to your family, not you," Cecilia said, emphasizing each word. "Have you done anything for this company? Helped Atticus run it? So, what right do you have to say Atticus can't let Dashiell work there?" Cecilia challenged.
Seraphina was left speechless by Cecilia's bluntness.
"Seraphina, you and Dashiell are divorced. If you really want to move on, you gotta learn to see him without all that emotional baggage. Dashiell's got nothing to do with you anymore, and you have no right to be mad at him," Cecilia laid it out.
Seraphina felt a bit uncomfortable.
"Think it over," Cecilia didn't push further.
Since Seraphina chose to divorce, she had to deal with the fallout herself.
All Cecilia could do was try to stop her from making the same mistakes again.
Cecilia hung up, got up from her office chair, and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.
Looking at the skyscrapers and bustling traffic of Serenovia City, she felt a moment of confusion.
What could she change in the future?
How much could she really change?
She had no clue.
Cecilia took a deep breath.
She wouldn't let herself get too sentimental.
After all, she had a second chance at life, and she wasn't leaving anything to fate.
She went back to her desk, picked up the phone, and said, "Rose, get in touch with all the major media outlets and announce that I've acquired Pearl E-commerce Platform."
"Yes," Rose responded respectfully.
Cecilia stretched, thinking it was time to make Dominic sweat a bit.
This time, she was going to take down the Kingsley Group for good!
The news that the Lockhart Group had dropped five million dollars to acquire Pearl E-commerce Platform hit all the major media outlets.
The moment he saw the news, Dominic tensed up.
Cecilia buying an e-commerce platform now? That was fishy.
Knowing that the Kingsley Group was building an international e-commerce platform, this move couldn't be a coincidence.
So, Cecilia wanted to go head-to-head with him?
Thinking about the last time with the Innovation Arc project, where he deliberately competed with the Lockhart Group, now Cecilia wanted payback?
But, a $5 million e-commerce platform going up against his $2 billion one? Ridiculous!
No matter how sharp Cecilia was, he didn't believe a local platform could beat his big-league one.
Cecilia was totally overestimating herself.
Even so, Dominic was still uneasy.
Cecilia wasn't someone to underestimate anymore.
Plus, the Kingsley Group's funds were already super tight, relying on this international e-commerce project to boost their stock and cash flow. Now, Cecilia was stepping in just to mess with him!
Dominic gritted his teeth, thinking, 'I can't give Cecilia any chance.'
If this failed, he feared he'd be ditched by the noble family!
Dominic's face turned cold.
When exactly did Cecilia stop having any feelings for him?
He still couldn't figure it out.
When did Cecilia catch on to his long-term scheme?
He thought he had covered his tracks perfectly.
Dominic pressed his lips tightly.
Thinking about it now was pointless. He had to focus on how to take Cecilia down.
He was itching to see Cecilia's reputation trashed and her life in shambles.
Otherwise, he'd never get over the hatred in his heart!
From childhood to now, no one had ever made him this mad and yet untouchable.
He'd make sure Cecilia regretted it!
