Chapter 137 Alaric Really Looks Good

Cecilia struggled to break free from Alaric's grip.

His strength was so overwhelming she couldn't budge an inch.

Lowering her voice and gritting her teeth, she asked, "Alaric, what do you want?"

"Help me pick out a suit," he replied.

Cecilia frowned. "Didn't you already pick one?"

"When did I do that?" Alaric shot back.

The staff, who had just brought over the suit he supposedly chose, awkwardly slipped away at his words.

Cecilia felt a pang of sympathy for them.

"What style are you looking for?" she asked, trying to stay calm. She really didn't want to waste time with Alaric. She was already running late after leaving the Tower of Light.

"I like your style," Alaric said with a bright smile.

Cassius, nearby, couldn't take it anymore. "Can you two take your flirting to the bedroom? There's a single guy here!"

Cecilia blushed. "How are you single?"

"I don't have a wife," Cassius replied.

"You seem to have many casual flings, and you call yourself single?" Cecilia was speechless. Cassius was a typical playboy, just like Alaric. No wonder they got along so well.

"Those are just hookups," Cassius said matter-of-factly.

Cecilia didn't want to deal with him anymore. Talking about love with a guy like Cassius was pointless. Anyway, in a few years, some woman would make him wish he were dead.

Turning to Alaric, she said, "Let go of me, and I'll help you pick a suit."

"Okay." Alaric released her, looking expectant.

Cecilia felt a bit pressured, like when someone places too much hope on you, and you're afraid you won't do well. Alaric was good at manipulating people, making them follow his lead without realizing it.

She calmed herself and carefully selected a suit.

"This one," she said, pointing to a dark gray suit.

"Mrs. Whitaker, you have a great eye. This is our designer's main piece for the season. It's trendy, so only celebrities dare to try it. But it's really handsome. Here's how it looks on our model," the staff said, showing photos from fashion week on a tablet.

Cecilia glanced at it and said, "Alaric will look better in it."

She wasn't complimenting him; she just had a keen sense of fashion. She could instantly tell what style suited whom. Back in the day, the outfits she picked for Dominic were often praised by the media, calling him the best-dressed man in all of Serenovia City.

Thinking about all she had done for Dominic, all her heartfelt efforts, she felt truly betrayed.

"Thanks for the compliment," Alaric said, his voice filled with laughter.

Cecilia rolled her eyes, ignoring him. She didn't need to think to know that Alaric was feeling smug at that moment.

Seeing Cecilia not respond, the staff quickly tried to lighten the mood. "Mr. Whitaker, you're the most handsome man in all of Serenovia City. Of course, you look good in anything. Please wait a moment, I'll get the suit for you."

Alaric nodded slightly.

He turned to Cecilia and asked, "Shall I pick a dress for you?"

"No need, I'll pick myself," Cecilia refused. It wasn't that she didn't trust Alaric's taste. After all, the wedding dress he chose for their wedding had truly amazed her. But she still trusted herself more.

Alaric didn't push it and just accompanied her as she picked out clothes.

Cassius stood nearby, feeling very speechless.

"Mr. Whitaker, your suit is ready. Please move to the dressing room, and our staff will help you change," the staff respectfully approached.

Alaric nodded slightly and followed them out.

As Alaric left, Cecilia had already picked out her dress. She waited for a while, and the staff accompanied her to the dressing room to change.

As she walked in, she saw Rebecca coming out, and they faced each other.

Cecilia knew she and Rebecca could never be friends, and they were even enemies, so she naturally didn't fake a greeting. She brushed past Rebecca.

"Cecilia," Rebecca suddenly stopped and called her.

Cecilia also stopped.

Rebecca continued, "I broke up with Jasper."

Cecilia frowned slightly and smiled faintly. "Ms. Adams, that's your business. You don't need to report it to me."

"Report? What a joke!" Rebecca's face darkened. "I'm just telling you, I'm single now, and I have the right to pursue love."

Cecilia warned, "You're single, but it doesn't mean Alaric is single. Ms. Adams, being a mistress can bring bad luck. You'd better think twice."

"Cecilia!" With just a few words, Rebecca's face changed instantly.

Cecilia walked away. They really couldn't have a proper conversation. Besides, making someone furious and then walking away was the highest level of arguing.

Cecilia walked into the dressing room and changed into her dress.

When she came out, Alaric had also changed.

He was standing in front of the mirror, wearing a dark gray double-breasted suit with a side slit, elegant and unique. The suit's lapel was adorned with slightly mottled white shell buttons, giving it a somewhat stoic feel, a style that was popular then and would be for years to come. The perfectly tailored pants wrapped around his muscular legs, making him look tall and dignified.

Alaric's looks and demeanor could fulfill any woman's fantasy.

Cecilia just watched Alaric, seeing all the staff around him with girlish fantasies in their eyes, and Rebecca's undisguised admiration for Alaric.

"Do I look good?" Alaric's eyes shifted slightly.

His gaze seemed to be fixed only on her.

No matter when, Cecilia always felt that when she looked at him, he was also looking at her.

At this moment, facing Alaric's sincere eyes, Cecilia's heart seemed to flutter a bit.

She said, "Yes, pretty good."

Alaric really did look good.
