Chapter 128 Charles Admits His Own Failings
Cecilia yanked the documents from Rose and started pulling out the contents one by one.
Everyone watched her closely, curiosity and anticipation thick in the air.
They were all hoping for some juicy revelation!
"In my hand," Cecilia began, "is the hotel record of Mr. Wolf and Roy's daughter, Wendy. It shows that Mr. Wolf first hooked up with Wendy on March 18th, two years ago, at the Serenovia City Hill Country Club. Since then, they've been meeting up at least twice a week. The latest booking was just yesterday."
"You're full of it!" Charles shot back, struggling to keep his cool. "You found some random hotel record and claim it's mine? That's a stretch!"
Cecilia didn't lose her composure. She glanced at Charles, who was desperately trying to defend himself.
She continued, "Here are the records of Mr. Wolf's expenses on Wendy. Over the years, he's spent a fortune on her—branded bags, jewelry, pocket money, sports cars—totaling over $2 million. That's about $1 million a year."
"$1 million a year? My annual salary at the Lockhart Group is only about $3 million, and you're saying I blew nearly half of it on a woman? That's absurd! Besides, I give my entire salary to my wife. You can call her and ask; she has my salary card!" Charles said sarcastically.
Cecilia replied, "Mr. Wolf, your salary might not be much, but the annual dividends from the Lockhart Group are substantial. If I remember correctly, you overdraw a portion of your dividends every month. I bet that money went to Wendy, right?"
"That's nonsense!" Charles was livid. "You're going to great lengths to frame me! I'm just standing up for the employees, and you retaliate like this, Cecilia. Are you here to work or to disrupt the Lockhart Group?"
"Mr. Wolf, the more you deny it, the worse it'll be when the truth comes out," Cecilia warned.
"Stop threatening me with your baseless accusations, Cecilia. If you keep this up, I won't be polite!" Charles's face twisted with anger, a hint of panic barely noticeable.
Deep down, Charles knew Cecilia had discovered his affair with Wendy, but he would never admit it. He had recently expressed his love for his wife and dedication to his family in a business interview. If his scandal broke out now, how could he face anyone?
Furious, he said to Cecilia, "I don't have time for this! Since Roy is out of danger, I don't want to waste any more time."
He turned to leave.
"These are photos of Mr. Wolf and Wendy in bed!" Cecilia's voice rang out behind him.
Charles spun around sharply.
He saw Cecilia holding an A4-sized color printout, displaying it to everyone.
The large paper made the explicit images clear at a glance!
Charles's previously calm face changed instantly.
Charles became frantic.
He lunged forward to grab the photos from Cecilia.
Augustus stepped in his way.
"Move, you bastard!" Charles roared.
Augustus stood firm.
"Bastard!"
"Who's the real bastard here?" Cecilia's face turned icy. "Mr. Wolf, don't you know?"
"You!" Charles shouted at Cecilia, humiliated. "Tear it up right now!"
Cecilia replied, "If you dare to do it, you should dare to face it."
"It's photoshopped! The photos are fake!" Charles's face turned beet red as he shouted, losing all composure.
"Mr. Wolf, do you want me to show the video?" Cecilia raised an eyebrow.
Charles froze. He suppressed his rage, wishing he could strangle Cecilia.
"Do you need it?" Cecilia's calmness contrasted sharply with Charles's meltdown.
As Charles's facade crumbled, everyone shifted from initial skepticism to absolute belief in Cecilia's words.
When they realized the extent of Charles's despicable behavior, their faces showed disdain and disgust.
Some even whispered, "I never thought Mr. Wolf would keep a mistress, and one young enough to be his daughter."
"Just a few days ago, I saw Mr. Wolf and his wife on a financial program, where he seemed like the perfect husband. I felt proud to work at the same company as him."
"Even more shocking is that Roy let his daughter sleep with Mr. Wolf for his career. It's beyond my imagination."
The murmurs grew louder, all reaching Charles's ears, causing him to lose control repeatedly.
"Shut up, all of you shut up!" Charles screamed like a madman.
But Augustus held him firmly, preventing him from doing anything.
"Shut up! Let go of me, let go!" Charles raged at everyone and shouted at Augustus.
The once elite businessman now looked like a pathetic, disgusting middle-aged man.
The rooftop echoed with Charles's frantic voice.
Roy, on the other hand, was unusually quiet.
Of course, he was already deeply ashamed of wetting himself, and now, being accused of selling his daughter for money, he had no ground to speak.
After a long time, Charles finally admitted, "Yes, I made Wendy my mistress. So what? Did I break the law? Which law in the Yakurosean Empire says you can't keep a mistress? What can you do to me? Can you get your dad to fire me?"
"Keeping a mistress is indeed only a moral issue. My dad can't fire you just because of your indiscretions. But for the company's reputation, firing you would be justifiable." Cecilia smiled slightly. "Of course, I believe my dad won't do that. After all, you've contributed a lot to the company over the years. Even if we disregard your reputation, we must consider your father's and grandfather's. The Lockhart Group owes much of its success to your family's support."
"Good to know!" Charles sneered.
In an instant, he regained his arrogant demeanor.
