Chapter 430 Dashiell Initiates a Kiss

Seraphina strolled over and started peeling off Dashiell's clothes.

Dashiell had been rocking a laid-back vibe lately, and that black hoodie he had on was a pullover, making it a pain to take off.

Seraphina helped him sit up.

Dashiell was so hammered he was like a ragdoll, just slumping against her.

He was heavy.

Seraphina was about ready to curse. Big guy like him, still needing someone to babysit him.

She wrestled with his clothes.

After what felt like forever, she finally got the hoodie off, and surprise, he wasn't wearing anything underneath.

She laid him back down and bent over to tackle his khaki pants.

She unbuckled his belt and yanked off his trousers.

Her eyes darted away, not wanting to see anything awkward.

Once he was undressed, Seraphina headed to the bathroom to grab a cloth and wipe him down.

A wave of memory washed over her, bringing back the feel of his skin as she bathed him on their wedding night.

She swallowed hard, pushing those thoughts away.

She quickly finished cleaning him up and went to grab his pajamas from the closet.

Then she struggled to get them on him.

The whole time, Dashiell was so out of it, he had no clue what was going on.

Seraphina buttoned up his shirt, kneeling in front of him, doing it super carefully.

Finally, she was done with the buttons.

Just as she was about to put on his pants, she looked up and saw Dashiell, who had been out cold, staring right at her, wide awake.

Seraphina jumped.

He was awake but still letting her do all the work.

She was beat.

She'd just had a miscarriage and should be resting, but here she was, playing nurse.

The more she thought about it, the madder she got.

She snapped at Dashiell, "Since you're awake, then..."

Before she could finish, her eyes went wide.

Dashiell grabbed her arm and yanked her down onto him.

His lips crashed onto hers in a fierce kiss.

Was he still drunk?

Dashiell's kiss was intense.

It felt like he had turned from a lamb into a wild wolf.

Seraphina could barely handle it.

She even wondered if he was so drunk he didn't know what he was doing, didn't know who he was kissing.

And this wasn't like him at all.

She didn't know what she felt; all she knew was she didn't resist.

Even though she was scared, she didn't push him away.

She just let him keep kissing her.

It felt like he wanted to devour her.

The room felt like it was heating up.

Seraphina clutched his pajamas, wrinkling them.

The steamy kiss was cut short by a sudden ringing.

Seraphina snapped back to reality and realized she was kissing Dashiell.

Not only did she not refuse, but she had gotten really into it.

Was she nuts?

She shoved Dashiell away hard.

She couldn't believe she had given in to his dominating kiss, and more importantly, she couldn't have sex right now.

Given Dashiell's state, he might try to force himself on her.

Her safety came first.

After pushing him away, Seraphina was still catching her breath.

Her heart was racing like crazy.

She grabbed her phone without even checking who it was, hoping to distract herself, and answered the call.

"Seraphina, still up? You sound out of breath." Sebastian's voice came through.

Her heart skipped a beat.

She glanced at Dashiell, who was lying on the bed, face flushed and panting harder than when he was drunk.

She got up and walked out.

Dashiell glanced at the door, trying to calm his wild heartbeat and breathing.

Seraphina walked to the living room and said, "Nah, you know I stay up late and can't sleep."

"It's bad for you. You're supposed to be recovering; your health matters," Sebastian said, sounding worried.

"Yeah, I'll try to fix that," she replied.

"By the way, you sounded really out of breath when you picked up. What were you doing? You weren't working out, were you?" Sebastian asked.

She paused for a few seconds and said, "I was just running on the treadmill."

She didn't know why she lied, but she couldn't exactly say she was just making out with Dashiell.

She didn't want to hurt Sebastian.

"I know you care about your figure, but your health is more important. Avoid strenuous exercise." Sebastian always looked out for her.

"Okay." she nodded.

"It's late, get some rest," Sebastian said. "I called to remind you to sleep early. Also, put your phone on silent so you won't be disturbed. Remember that."

"Got it," Seraphina agreed. "You should sleep early too."

"I'll sleep after I finish my work," Sebastian said calmly.

"Finish your work? Aren't you still in the hospital?" she asked.

"There are always things to do, but don't worry, I'll be done soon," he said.

"It's this late and you're still working? Sebastian, can you please take care of your own health and stop working so hard? It makes me really worried," she said, a bit angry.

Was it worth sacrificing so much for a job?

Sebastian listened to her complaints, not getting mad but chuckling instead. "Do you care about me?"

"Of course," she said, exasperated.

"You're the only one in this world who cares about me," he said softly, his voice tinged with sadness.

Hearing that, Seraphina's heart ached.

Sebastian was an orphan with no friends. He started dating her in high school and joined her family's company after college. It seemed like she was the only person in his life.

And she had just left him.

The more she thought about it, the sadder she felt.

"I'm sorry, Sebastian," she said.

"No need to apologize. Just knowing you care about me is enough," he comforted her.

"Of course I care about you, but..." she trailed off.

Sebastian interrupted, "Seraphina, do you remember what I told you before?"

"What?" she asked.

"I will always wait for you," he said clearly.

She gritted her teeth.

At that moment, she was at a loss for words.

Sebastian continued, "Will you come back to me?"

She really didn't know.

She thought she was definitely going to divorce Dashiell this time, but just now, she felt a bit hesitant.
