Chapter 181 I Heard You Kissed Dashiell
When Seraphina hung up, it was already 2 a.m.
She felt touched thinking about what Cecilia had done for her.
Just the thought made her excited.
If Cecilia were a guy, she'd marry her in a heartbeat.
She put down her almost-dead phone.
If it weren't for Alaric, she could've chatted with Cecilia longer.
She even suspected Alaric did it on purpose to get Cecilia into bed.
As Seraphina turned over to sleep, her phone rang again.
At this hour, it definitely wasn't Cecilia.
Cecilia's routine was so strict, Seraphina thought she was still a kid. Who goes to bed at 10 p.m. and wakes up at 6 a.m.?
More like going to bed at 6 a.m. and waking up at 10 p.m.
She checked the caller ID.
Of course.
It was her party friends.
She answered, "I'm not going out tonight."
She was already in bed and didn't want to go out.
Plus, she was getting married.
She needed to behave before the wedding.
If the media caught her at a nightclub, who knows what they'd say? She didn't want Sebastian to get hurt by it.
She had even decided.
After getting married, no more nightclubs.
She'd just be Sebastian's wife. If she got bored, she'd go to the company and be his personal secretary, commuting together every day.
She was kind of excited to try that life.
"I'm not asking you to come out," said the voice over loud music.
Seraphina couldn't hear, "What did you say?"
"Wait, I'll find a quiet spot." There was some mumbling, then it quieted down. "I'm not asking you to come out..."
"Then what do you want? Borrow money?" Seraphina knew it wouldn't be anything good.
"Can you let me finish?"
"Go ahead."
"Guess who I saw at the nightclub?" The voice tried to sound mysterious.
"Just say it. It's late, and I'm tired," Seraphina said impatiently.
"You're boring." The voice complained, then said, "I saw Dashiell. With the most sought-after prostitute at the club."
Seraphina paused.
Then calmly said, "What does that have to do with me?"
"I heard she's really something, even the coldest guys fall for her." The voice was excited.
Seraphina was speechless.
She wasn't interested, okay?
"Aren't you reacting?" The voice asked curiously.
"What reaction should I have?" Seraphina raised an eyebrow.
"Isn't Dashiell your stepbrother?"
"That has nothing to do with me," Seraphina said coldly. "If he wants to mess around with prostitutes, that's his business. We're all adults; who can control anyone else?"
"You sound a bit jealous."
"Is there something wrong with your ears?" Seraphina got angry. "What would I be jealous of? I hope he catches an STD!"
"See, you're getting all worked up."
"I swear, you..."
"Seraphina, I heard that back in school, you and Dashiell had a thing." The voice was very curious.
"Who told you that? Tell me, and I'll kill them!" Seraphina was furious.
"Is it true?"
"It's false."
"Someone said they saw you and Dashiell kissing."
"Damn it!" Seraphina cursed.
"Did you kiss him, did he kiss you, or was it mutual?"
"Is there not enough alcohol at the nightclub to shut you up?" Seraphina snapped.
Sensing her anger, the other person wisely hung up.
Seraphina tossed her phone aside.
She had kissed Dashiell.
Yes.
She must have been crazy to kiss him.
And now she deeply regretted it.
She wished she could erase that memory!
She lay in bed angrily, covering herself with the blanket to sleep.
She tried not to think about anything!
She was just waiting to become Sebastian's bride.
Thinking about wearing Cecilia's wedding dress to marry Sebastian made her inexplicably excited.
She couldn't wait to marry Sebastian.
Seraphina fell asleep, dreaming about her beautiful future.
After falling asleep, she had many dreams.
In her dreams, she saw Dashiell.
Damn it! Why was Dashiell so annoying?
He even appeared in her dreams.
She saw Dashiell still wearing his high school uniform.
She remembered their first year of high school, preparing for the school's New Year’s Eve party.
Dashiell was going to perform a piano solo on stage.
She and her classmates were going to perform a dance.
It was a ballroom dance.
During their first rehearsal, her male dance partner suddenly got sick and took leave.
Dashiell was assigned by the teacher to be her temporary dance partner.
That was probably the closest they had ever been.
After all, ballroom dancing involved a lot of physical contact.
Later, her original dance partner kept taking leave, so naturally, she and Dashiell became dance partners.
Growing up in upper class, ballroom dancing was second nature to both her and Dashiell.
Dashiell was also a great dancer.
In fact, Dashiell was good at everything; he just didn't like to show off.
Their ballroom dance at the New Year’s Eve party was the highlight of the entire school.
When it ended.
Seraphina didn't know if she was too excited, but her high heel suddenly twisted. Fortunately, Dashiell quickly caught her, preventing her from falling on stage, but she had clearly sprained her ankle.
Dashiell carried her off the stage and ran to the infirmary.
At that moment, Dashiell's concern made Seraphina forget about the pain.
Fortunately, she wasn't seriously injured, just a sprain. The school nurse applied some ointment and told her to be careful with her foot, and it would be fine in a few days.
Dashiell carried her out of the infirmary.
At that moment, she thought his back was really broad.
She was 16 at the time, but Dashiell was already outstanding among all the boys.
Seraphina thought that back then, she must have been infatuated with Dashiell's looks.
So when Dashiell carried her back to the entrance of the performance hall, ready to help her back in to watch the rest of the show, she suddenly hooked her arms around his neck, stood on tiptoe with one foot, and kissed his lips.
Her sudden move caught Dashiell off guard.
They looked into each other's eyes, and Seraphina's heart was racing.
It felt like everything had changed.
