Chapter 360 The Complete End of Seraphina and Sebastian

Seraphina picked up Sebastian's call.

"Seraphina." Sebastian's voice came through, all soft and gentle.

Seraphina pressed her lips together.

"Sebastian," she replied.

"Why haven't you shown up at work for ages?" Sebastian asked, sounding like he had no clue what was up.

Seraphina bit her lip.

How was she supposed to tell him she was pregnant?

And that it was Dashiell's kid?

"You sick or something? Or did you have another blowout with your dad?" Sebastian's voice stayed super gentle.

"No," Seraphina finally decided to just spit it out, "I'm pregnant."

The line went dead silent.

Sebastian didn't say anything for what felt like forever.

Tears welled up in Seraphina's eyes. She could just imagine how crushed Sebastian must be.

Just like she felt when she found out she was carrying Dashiell's baby.

"I'm sorry, Sebastian," she said.

"Why would you be sorry?" he suddenly chuckled, "I should be congratulating you."

"Don't say that. If you do, I'll feel even worse. I really..."

"As long as it's what you want, it's fine," Sebastian cut her off. "As long as you're happy."

"I'm not happy at all. I'm carrying Dashiell's kid, and I'm not happy at all!" Seraphina's voice got louder.

Dashiell, who was opening the door, heard her easily.

He just stood there, not coming in.

Seraphina didn't notice him.

"The kid's innocent," Sebastian said. "Don't let your feelings for Dashiell mess with the kid."

"It's because the kid's innocent that I didn't go through with the abortion. Otherwise..." Seraphina choked up.

"I get it," Sebastian comforted. "Seraphina, don't be too sad. I understand how you feel."

"But this means we can never be together again!" Seraphina broke down in tears.

She used to think she'd divorce Dashiell one day.

That she'd go back to Sebastian.

But now, with a kid, she and Sebastian could never be together again.

She might be stuck with Dashiell forever.

"I know," Sebastian replied calmly. "Don't worry about me. Just do what you gotta do. I can handle it."

"Sebastian, why are you so good?" Seraphina was really overwhelmed.

His tenderness was a suffocating blanket, smothering her with guilt.

"I don't want you to be hurt or sad. Seraphina, take care of yourself. I'm hanging up now," Sebastian said.

Seraphina gripped her phone tightly.

She knew that once this call ended, their relationship would be truly over.

She gritted her teeth and hung up.

The love between her and Sebastian was genuinely over.

There would never be another chance.

After hanging up, Seraphina cried her heart out.

At the doorway, Dashiell quietly left.

He could actually feel Seraphina's sadness.

But he had no idea how to comfort her.

He could only choose to leave silently.

At Everhart Bank.

After hanging up the phone, Sebastian's face instantly changed.

Even though he kept saying he just wanted Seraphina to be happy, he could feel her giving up on their relationship.

She had chosen to give up.

He could only accept it.

But Sebastian's eyes narrowed; he wasn't about to let Seraphina be all happy with Dashiell!

Cecilia had just wrapped up a meeting and was chilling in her office.

Seraphina's call came through.

"What's up?" Cecilia answered, smiling.

She heard Seraphina sobbing on the other end.

Cecilia immediately got worried. "What's wrong? What happened?"

"I really broke up with Sebastian" came Seraphina's devastated voice.

Cecilia sighed in relief.

She had feared something might have happened to the baby.

She replied, "It's just breaking up. No biggie. You and Sebastian were pretty much done the moment you married Dashiell..."

"Cecilia, you don't get me at all! You don't care about me at all!" Seraphina snapped.

Seraphina was super pissed at Cecilia's dismissive attitude.

Cecilia tried to comfort her, "Okay, I know you're upset about the breakup. Don't cry too much; it's not good for the baby."

"It's all this baby's fault! He killed my true love!" Seraphina fumed.

"Don't say that. I heard that babies can feel their mom's emotions. If she knows her mom doesn't love her, she'll be really sad, maybe even..." Cecilia said, sounding kinda scary.

Seraphina was freaked out and quickly asked, "It's not even born yet. How can it have thoughts?"

"She does. My mom said that when she was pregnant with me, she had severe morning sickness and said she didn't love me and didn't want me. Then she had signs of a threatened miscarriage. Luckily, she was taken to the hospital in time, or I wouldn't be here," Cecilia said seriously.

"Cecilia, don't scare me like that. Should I go to the hospital for a check-up? I haven't been very nice to it lately." Seraphina was very agitated.

Cecilia chuckled, "See, you do care about the baby."

Seraphina was stunned.

Damn it.

She had been tricked by Cecilia again.

Cecilia continued, "Seraphina, since you've already made the decision, don't overthink it. You shouldn't regret. Think about it from another perspective. You're so sad about leaving Sebastian now, but how did Dashiell feel when he let you go and watched you be happy with Sebastian? You don't need to feel any regret because Dashiell really loves you."

Seraphina pouted.

At that moment, she couldn't say a word in rebuttal.

"I'm looking forward to your baby's birth," Cecilia didn't want to push Seraphina too much and changed the topic. "By the way, do you think the baby is a boy or a girl?"

"A boy, I think. I'm pretty sure it's a boy," Seraphina blurted out.

Cecilia smiled.

So Seraphina was really looking forward to the baby.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have thought so much.

"Magnolia and Dashiell want a girl. I want to have a boy just to spite them!" Seraphina said through gritted teeth.

Cecilia was speechless.

Seraphina was still so childish.

Cecilia remarked, "A boy who looks like Dashiell should be quite handsome."

"He shouldn't look like Dashiell; he needs to resemble me!" Seraphina exclaimed excitedly.

"He would be more handsome if he looked like Dashiell," Cecilia stated bluntly.

"Cecilia!" Seraphina was about to explode with anger.

"I'm just kidding," Cecilia laughed brightly. "I have a meeting to attend soon. We'll talk later."

Seraphina angrily hung up the phone first.

Cecilia also put down her phone.

At that moment, she suddenly thought that having a child might be nice too.
