Chapter 38 Cecilia's Breakdown

Cecilia got up from the sofa without a word, glanced at the somewhat drowsy Dominic on the couch, and walked out.
Seraphina, still in an excited state, noticed Cecilia's unsteady steps and hurriedly followed her outside.
"Cecilia," Seraphina called out to her.
Cecilia, suppressing her discomfort, paused in her steps. Seraphina immediately went over to support her, "Feeling unwell?"
"A bit. Take me to the restroom."
"Okay." Seraphina helped Cecilia, guiding her while remarking, "Maybe you shouldn't drink. One sip, and you end up getting yourself drunk like this."
Cecilia was too exhausted to banter with Seraphina anymore.
As soon as she entered the restroom, she couldn't hold back and started vomiting, looking quite disheveled.
Seraphina stood by, patting her back as Cecilia retched for a while, feeling some relief in her stomach.
After washing her hands at the sink and wiping her mouth, she felt a bit better and said, "Seraphina, do me a favor."
"What favor?" Seraphina asked, puzzled by Cecilia's somber demeanor.
Cecilia simply stated, "I'm leaving now, but you should stay. When Dominic leaves, make sure Isadora takes him back. Isadora hasn't had much to drink."
"Why?" Seraphina couldn't grasp the reasoning.
"Don't tell anyone I asked you to do this, including Sebastian."
"Why?" Seraphina grew even more perplexed.
"Just do as I say," Cecilia offered no further explanation.
"One day, you'll drive me crazy," Seraphina took a deep breath to calm herself.
"I'm leaving. Remember what I just said."
With that, Cecilia exited the restroom, followed by Seraphina. As she watched Cecilia's unsteady steps, Seraphina was about to reach out to support her when, at the restroom's entrance, Cecilia abruptly collided with a man's embrace.
Seraphina watched in astonishment as Alaric's gaze focused solely on Cecilia.
He remarked, "Cecilia, this was your initiative."
Initiative for what? Seraphina was extremely curious. The next moment, she witnessed Alaric swiftly bending down, lifting Cecilia in his arms, and leaving effortlessly.
As they walked away, Seraphina observed their diminishing figures, noting Cecilia's delicate and charming appearance in Alaric's embrace, which oddly made Alaric seem reassuring.
Suddenly, it dawned on Seraphina.
How did she let Alaric carry away Cecilia?
Women carried away by Alaric always ended up being captivated by him.
Eventually, she surrendered.
After all, Cecilia lay in Alaric's arms without resistance.
If Cecilia didn't want it, she would have refused, even in her intoxicated state.
Cecilia was a person of great self-discipline; she wouldn't allow something she didn't want to happen.
By allowing it now, she was consenting.
Seraphina sighed, singing, "Let it be, let it be, there's no turning back."
Alaric carried Cecilia back to his car, and the driver departed.
Cecilia remained in Alaric's embrace, not pushing him away.
Despite feeling unwell and dizzy, being in Alaric's arms inexplicably gave her a sense of security, as if he could provide her with safety.
She suppressed the inexplicable emotions that arose within her, thinking that tonight, she would finally reveal Dominic's true nature.
Closing her eyes, she drifted off to sleep peacefully, her mind filled with various images from this life and the previous one, intertwined and unclear.
She seemed to hear someone whispering in her ear, "If you don't answer, does that mean you're coming with me?"
"Don't vomit on me."
"Are you changing yourself, or should I help you?"
"Cecilia, I'm not a righteous person!"
"Not to you..."

Cecilia felt as though the night passed by in a blur, almost like being asleep and awake at the same time.
When she opened her eyes the next day, the scene before her left her stunned for a moment.
Where was she?
Cecilia abruptly sat up on the large bed, looking around at the completely unfamiliar surroundings, devoid of any sense of familiarity.
Just as she tried to calm herself down, she saw Alaric emerging from the bathroom!
Seeing he wrapped in only a towel, water droplets clinging to his body and hair, Cecilia couldn't deny his incredibly fit physique. But what was happening now?!
"Ah!" Cecilia couldn't help but scream, experiencing a level of loss of control she had never felt in her life; even when she was stabbed to death by Dominic, she managed to restrain herself from going crazy.
The sight truly shocked her.
The scream lasted for a long time, yet Alaric, standing in front of her, showed no sign of surprise at her scream.
Instead, he found her reaction quite interesting, observing her intently until Cecilia finally exclaimed, "How did I end up here?"
"Ms. Lockhart chose to come here by herself last night."
"I was drunk!" She remembered.
Leaving the nightclub last night, she had been with Alaric.
She had trusted him more than she should have.
Now she realized how foolish she had been.
Alaric, a man who couldn't control his desires, wouldn't just bring a woman home and do nothing.
He probably didn't even see it as improper.
In his world, it might be perfectly normal, but for her, it was not.
In her previous life, she was married, but she didn't want to engage in a relationship so suddenly and inexplicably.
"What are you thinking?" Alaric asked, his hands crossed, a slight smile on his lips.
"Nothing!" Cecilia replied harshly, feeling unlucky.
After all, she had no recollection of what had happened.
"Really?" Alaric suddenly approached the bed.
Cecilia's heart skipped a beat, her expression wary. Alaric adjusted his towel, which seemed loosely draped around his waist, and climbed onto the bed, inching closer to her.
Cecilia had no way to retreat, facing Alaric's enlarged face.
Even though he was remarkably handsome, she still felt resistant.
She reached out to push Alaric away, not wanting him to get too close.
However, her fingers touched his firm and elastic chest; she felt an indescribable sensation.
She quickly withdrew her hands, watching as Alaric leaned in closer.
In the presence of such a dominant Alaric, she felt as though she couldn't resist.
Cecilia closed her eyes abruptly.
After all, she had already made love to him, just pretended to get drunk again!
