Chapter 30 Have You Been Flirted With?

Cecilia returned to the ballroom.
At this moment, the ballroom was already bright.
It was evident that the dance had ended, and the atmosphere had returned to normal socializing at the party.
Theodore was toasting with Genevieve one by one, and the party scene was lively.
Cecilia looked around and walked toward Seraphina.
Seraphina was affectionately linked with Sebastian at the moment, and they seemed sweet and appeared to have a good relationship.
"Cecilia, where did you go?" Seraphina looked at Cecilia coming over, somewhat reproachful.
The lights suddenly brightened, and no one knew where Cecilia had run off.
Seraphina had originally planned to give Cecilia a proper compliment for finally stepping out of her shell. She had always said that Cecilia's mother was beautiful and shouldn't hide her beauty behind simplicity, but both Cecilia and her mother disagreed.
‘Look, just a little bit of dressing up and they've stunned everyone at the event. I wonder how many people are envious now, Seraphina thought to herself.
"I just went to the bathroom." Cecilia lied.
"Alright." Seraphina never doubted; she just looked at her strangely. "What's wrong with your ear?"
"What?" Cecilia exclaimed.
"This ear." Seraphina pointed to Cecilia's left ear. It happened to be the ear that Alaric had just bit.
"Have you been flirted with? It's so red. Is your ear shy?" Seraphina asked.
Cecilia really couldn't keep calm at that moment. Seraphina's words were too shocking.
Sebastian joked, "Your choice of words is so unique; how come you couldn't write a good essay back in school?"
At that time, the teacher was also very surprised that Seraphina had such a rich vocabulary but wrote such poor essays. To be precise, all her homework was poor.
"If I had written good essays, would I have met you?" Seraphina argued unreasonably.
Seraphina and Sebastian were together in high school.
At that time, the school had one-on-one tutoring sessions, where the top students in the eleventh grade tutored the underperforming students in the tenth grade.
Sebastian was the top student in the eleventh grade, and Seraphina was the underperforming student in the tenth grade.
It was a good story from school. In short, Cecilia was quite envious of Seraphina back then. She sincerely felt that Seraphina dared to love and hate.
As long as Seraphina liked someone, regardless of the person's background, if she wanted to be with him; she would definitely be with him.
Atticus was actually very opposed.
First, Seraphina was still young; dating in the tenth grade was considered early.
Second, Sebastian came from a poor background. He was an orphan who could attend their prestigious school on a scholarship due to his good grades.
With Seraphina's family background, even if Sebastian’s grades were unbeatable, he was not worthy.
However, Seraphina stubbornly wanted to be with him.
Atticus had always spoiled Seraphina since she was young, probably feeling guilty because of what happened to Seraphina's mother.
Atticus hardly ever refused Seraphina's requests, so he had to agree to Seraphina and Sebastian dating.
Fortunately, Sebastian was quite ambitious.
After graduating from high school, he passed the entrance exam for the best economics and finance university in the Yakurosean Empire.
He had just graduated last year and went straight to work at the House of Everhart Bank, becoming Atticus's right-hand man.
Cecilia quietly watched Sebastian. If she hadn't lived another life, she wouldn't have known that Sebastian had approached Seraphina from the beginning with cruel intentions.
"Seraphina," Cecilia interrupted their flirtatious banter.
Seraphina turned to look at Cecilia.
"Come with me," Cecilia said.
"Okay." Seraphina let go of Sebastian. "Can you be alone?"
In fact, Seraphina wasn't as carefree as she seemed. She cared a lot about Sebastian's feelings. She knew that his background made him somewhat insecure, so she always took special care of him at such gatherings.
"It's okay," Sebastian said. "There are a few familiar faces I can go talk to."
"Okay." Seraphina smiled slightly.
Cecilia took Seraphina's hand and led her away. Seraphina was a bit puzzled. "What's the rush?"
"You haven't forgotten what I told you, have you?" asked Cecilia.
"Half past ten, I remember," Seraphina said helplessly. "When have I ever forgotten what you told me?"
Cecilia couldn't help but smile. "You're so obedient; I'll give you a reward."
"Don't scare me." Seraphina looked at her suspiciously. She felt that Cecilia was acting strange at the moment.
Cecilia didn't give Seraphina a chance to refuse. She deliberately walked past Dominic with Seraphina.
"Cecilia," Dominic called out to her.
Cecilia smiled faintly. She turned back. "Dominic, it's my mother's birthday today; I've been busy and didn't have time to greet you."
Seraphina rolled her eyes beside as she thought, ‘When did Cecilia become so good at acting? She is clearly going to break their engagement in a month yet she’s still pretending to be affectionate. Alaric is very handsome, but Dominic is not bad either. What happened to Cecilia?’
"Mrs. Lockhart's birthday party today is really great. I never knew she was so beautiful." Dominic praised sincerely. He looked genuinely impressed.
Cecilia inwardly sneered. ’Dominic, you’re really good at pretending.’
She noticed that Octavia was already finding it hard to pretend to be friendly.
Octavia probably wanted to embarrass Genevieve today, but unexpectedly, Genevieve effortlessly won everyone's praise.
It could be said that all the noble ladies who came to the party today, those who had once looked down on Genevieve, were now humiliated.
"Perfect, you're not busy now. I'll take you to my parents. Penelope is here too. She said she wants to apologize to you in person," Dominic said quickly as Cecilia didn't seem very enthusiastic about him.
Cecilia glanced in that direction. At that moment, the members of the four major families were gathered together.
She smiled faintly. "Alright."
Cecilia walked over with Dominic and Seraphina. The three juniors were quite well-behaved among the seniors, and no one interrupted their conversation.
Suddenly, Theodore said, "By the way, Genevieve, when you hadn't come down yet, Octavia said she had prepared a gift for you."
Genevieve faced Octavia with a smile, and Octavia forced a smile, too.
The so-called prepared gift was just to highlight her own gracefulness, to make Genevieve feel inferior in front of her, and to allow others to compare Genevieve better.
However, looking at Genevieve's elegance and beauty, she was already very uncomfortable, let alone giving a gift.
However, since Octavia had promised, she had to fulfill her promise.
She took out a bracelet from her exquisite handbag. The style was very ordinary, the chain was a bit thick, and it didn't look delicate at all. "I saw it when I was shopping, thought it suited you, so I bought it. Try it on, see if it fits."
With great enthusiasm, she put it on Genevieve's wrist.
To be honest, it really didn't look good.
Genevieve still showed her generosity and said, "It's beautiful; I really like it."
"I knew you'd like it," Octavia said quickly. She also felt disdainful, thinking that Genevieve's taste was not high.
She didn't even know who helped Genevieve pick out the outfit she was wearing today, which was so stunning. She couldn't even tell which designer it was from.
Yesterday, when she went to pick out her outfit, she tried on all the designer dresses but didn't see this style.
Among so many dresses, it was clearly a unique presence.
She had to find out which designer it was from and make sure Genevieve didn't attract people's attention next time.
