Chapter 528 Setting the Trap (4) Achieving the Desired Outcome

"Did you get it?" Cecilia asked.

Dashiell nodded. "Yeah, I sent the video and photos to your phone."

"Cool," Cecilia replied, like she knew it was coming. "I'll head in first, you follow after."

With that, Cecilia was about to leave.

"Cecilia," Dashiell suddenly called out.

She paused for a second. "What's up?"

"Is it really worth all this for Alaric?" Dashiell asked.

Cecilia saw the worry in Dashiell's eyes and gave a faint smile. "It's nothing."

To her, saving Alaric was worth any sacrifice.

Today was just a bit of teasing from Dominic.

If it came down to it, she'd even sleep with him.

Dashiell could see how determined she was.

When they talked about the plan last night, he wanted to stop her, but he knew it was the best, easiest, and most effective way to get to Alaric. Still, seeing Cecilia go through this made him uneasy, especially with Dominic's teasing earlier.

If Alaric knew, he'd make Dominic pay.

In the end, for a better outcome, Dashiell stayed in the background, watching Cecilia and Dominic's interaction.

Luckily, Cecilia was smart.

She wasn't really violated.

Dashiell said heavily, "I'm really glad Alaric never gave up on you."

Cecilia frowned, not fully understanding Dashiell's words, but didn't ask further.

"I'm going now," she said.

With that, she left.

Cecilia walked to the entrance of the banquet hall, took a deep breath, and without showing an invitation, the staff didn't stop her. Dominic must've given them a heads-up to avoid any trouble.

She handed over the gift and walked in.

There weren't many people inside.

The Monroe Family was a noble family. Although the wedding was hyped by the media, the actual event wasn't overly grand, but it had a touch of understated luxury.

Cecilia thought about her last wedding with Dominic, which was so casual.

She didn't feel much about it.

After all, Alaric had given her a grand wedding that no one could surpass.

She suddenly felt that because of Alaric, she had no regrets in this life.

Cecilia walked gracefully through the banquet hall.

She had already taken off her thick coat, and the warm indoor temperature kept her comfortable.

She wore a bright red dress, her enchanting figure instantly drawing everyone's attention.

No matter the occasion, Cecilia's beauty always made her the center of attention, overshadowing everyone, including Lyra.

Since the ceremony was about to start, Lyra had already appeared behind a designated curtain in the hall. The curtain was thin, allowing her to see everything in the hall, including the dazzling Cecilia not far away.

Her eyes tightened, and her jealousy towards Cecilia was obvious.

She had never met Cecilia before, only knowing about her from the media and Dominic's dismissive comments. With Dominic always downplaying Cecilia, Lyra figured Cecilia's beauty was just overhyped by the folks in Serenovia City. She believed her own looks must be superior; otherwise, why would Dominic choose her over Cecilia?

But seeing Cecilia in person blew her mind.

She thought the media photos of Cecilia were edited, but in real life, she was even more stunning.

The displeasure in her heart was written all over her face.

Of course, Cecilia couldn't see it, nor could any of the guests. But Cecilia was sure Lyra cared.

In her past life, when Dominic had imprisoned her, Lyra had been right there with him, tormenting her.

Back then, she could see the jealousy in Lyra's eyes.

Cecilia gracefully took a seat among the guests.

The surrounding gazes gradually shifted away.

They couldn't just keep staring at her; after all, they were all high society people and wouldn't be too rude.

"Cecilia," suddenly, Seraphina's voice rang out beside her.

Cecilia turned her head, seeing Seraphina with Sebastian by her side.

"You actually came?" Seraphina exclaimed. "I heard someone say you were here, and I thought it was just a rumor. I didn't expect you to really show up, and looking so gorgeous. Did you dress up like this to provoke Dominic? After all, his bride can't hold a candle to you!"

Cecilia smiled but didn't deny it.

That was part of the reason.

But she wasn't here to provoke Dominic; she was here to provoke Lyra.

Seraphina sat next to Cecilia, looking very pleased. She kept chattering, "I used to think you always tried to keep the peace and endured everything. It made me feel so suffocated for you. Now seeing you so strong, it makes me so happy."

Cecilia glanced at Seraphina.

Seraphina was naturally unafraid of causing trouble.

She loved seeing others in awkward situations but couldn't stand seeing important people around her being wronged.

At that moment, Dashiell walked past them.

Cecilia's eyes moved slightly, and she said, "Dashiell."

Dashiell paused, turned to look at Cecilia, and deliberately avoided glancing at Seraphina.

Seraphina then turned her head, chatting and laughing with Sebastian, completely ignoring Dashiell's presence.

"Sit here." Cecilia pointed to the seat on her right, with Seraphina on her left.

Dashiell didn't refuse.

Because refusing would seem too deliberate.

He sat next to Cecilia.

Seraphina felt a bit uncomfortable.

When she was uncomfortable, she couldn't help but fidget.

"Is something itching?" Sebastian asked with concern.

"No," Seraphina quickly replied. "I'm just anxious waiting. How much longer until it starts?"

"It should start at 12:08, in about 10 minutes."

Seraphina nodded, then tried to calm herself down.

She didn't know why she felt so awkward around Dashiell.

The last time she accidentally walked into the wrong room and almost slept with Dashiell, it still made her feel uneasy.
