Chapter 303 Twist of Fate III: Cecilia's Rescue

Sebastian's footsteps faltered as he turned to glare at Penelope, his eyes brimming with fury.

But Penelope, who had never been afraid of anyone since childhood, didn't flinch under his gaze. With an air of casual indifference, she said, "I figured someone as spineless as you would refuse, so I made sure to drug you too. If you don't take care of this in the bedroom, just wait until tomorrow—you'll explode."

"Penelope!" Sebastian ground out her name through clenched teeth.

"Soon enough, you'll be thanking me," Penelope continued with a sneer. "Thanking me for making sure you and Seraphina end up together, living a life of privilege."

Sebastian's fists were clenched so tightly that his whole body trembled with the effort to control himself. He glared at Penelope one last time before spinning on his heel and storming out.

"If you don't bring Seraphina with you tonight, I'll make sure she becomes the… plaything of every man here!" Penelope threatened, her voice dripping with malice.

Sebastian's pace slowed briefly, but he gritted his teeth and pushed forward.

Penelope watched as Sebastian's retreating figure headed straight for the exit, not seeming at all interested in hitting the dance floor. Her face grew increasingly grim.

She thought, 'Sebastian, does he really have feelings for Seraphina or not?

'If he did, he wouldn't have just walked out like that. So, he must not care for her!'

Penelope chuckled coldly. She imagined Seraphina's devastation upon learning that the man she adored had no feelings for her. The thought of Seraphina's heartbreak and humiliation was almost too satisfying.

With a steely glint in her eye, Penelope decided that if Sebastian had left, she'd find another way to ruin Seraphina's reputation. She reached for her phone, ready to make her move.

Just then, Sebastian burst back in and, without a moment's hesitation, headed straight for the dance floor and pulled Seraphina out with him.

A wicked smile curled on Penelope's lips. It seemed Sebastian wasn't entirely indifferent to Seraphina after all. She wanted to see Seraphina left shattered and in ruins, but for now, things were playing out just as she'd hoped.

Without wasting another second, Penelope chased after them.

Meanwhile, in a dim corner of the nightclub, Cassius was smoking and eyeing a few familiar faces. He considered for a moment before handing over the half-finished cigarette to a waiting associate, who promptly extinguished it.

Cassius waved his hand dismissively, and the associate stepped back. Cassius dialed a number on his phone.

"Cecilia."

Cecilia had just gotten home, showered, and was about to hit the sack when she received Cassius's call. She felt a twinge of unease, wondering if something had happened to Alaric.

"I saw your friend Seraphina at the nightclub," Cassius said.

Cecilia frowned. "She's back at the club again?"

She had just told Seraphina to head home and rest. When would she learn to rein herself in?

"It wasn't just her. Sebastian—Seraphina's ex—is with her. They left the nightclub together…" Cassius added. "I'm guessing they're heading to a hotel."

"Is Seraphina out of control?" Cecilia wondered.

"Looks like she's pretty drunk."

"How long ago did they leave?" Cecilia asked.

"Just a minute or two."

"Where's the nearest hotel?"

"There's a five-star hotel right nearby, the Vidas Hotel."

"Got it, thanks." Cecilia quickly responded. "Cassius, thank you."

"Don't mention it," Cassius replied, his tone neutral.

The call was abruptly cut off.

Cassius shrugged.

He wasn't really the type to meddle in other people's business.

It was just that he felt Dashiell was too good for this.

If Seraphina was indeed cheating, he was afraid Dashiell might react violently, maybe even kill her in a fit of rage.

Seraphina's death wouldn't matter much, but losing Dashiell would be a much bigger loss!

Cassius lowered his head and dialed another number.

On the other end, the phone picked up, "Cassius."

"Alaric, are you still set for tomorrow?"

"Be careful out there."

"I know." Alaric's voice held a note of concern, "Make sure you keep an eye on Cecilia. I'm worried Dominic might try something with her."

"You've mentioned that a hundred times already. My ears are practically bleeding from hearing it," Cassius replied, a hint of irritation in his voice.

"Thanks," Alaric suddenly said.

Their relationship was such that they didn't need to be formal, yet here Alaric was, thanking him for something.

Cassius felt a twinge of unease. He responded with a bit of sarcasm, "So, you two are both thanking me today. Quite the coincidence."

"Did Cecilia reach out to you today?"

"I reached out to her. I saw Seraphina and Sebastian leaving the nightclub together. With my keen eye, I figured they might be up to something tonight, so I gave Cecilia a heads-up."

Alaric acknowledged this with a simple, "Got it."

"Tell me, Alaric, why does Dashiell love Seraphina so much?" Cassius still didn't get it.

What could Seraphina's personality possibly have that made Dashiell so infatuated?

Alaric didn't answer.

Though he understood perfectly.

Just like his own feelings for Cecilia.

Why did he love her so much?

It was simply because he did.

He loved her to the core of his being.

It was what one might call destiny.

Or perhaps a tragic fate.

Cecilia hung up the phone, hurriedly changing clothes while dialing Augustus. "Augustus, please come pick me up at the villa right away. I have an urgent matter to attend to."

"Okay," came the immediate response.

Cecilia changed into her clothes and went downstairs, where she saw the car already arriving.

Augustus' efficiency was truly astonishing.

Cecilia had no mood to praise Augustus at the moment. Naturally, he increased the horsepower and headed towards the Vidas Hotel.

"Mr. Whitaker doesn't want me to drive fast," Augustus said, visibly conflicted at Cecilia's urging.

He had once let Cassius drive so fast it felt like flying!

And now he was restricting Augustus' speed.

"This is urgent," she said. "I'll explain everything to Alaric if anything happens."

Seeing Cecilia's urgency, Augustus hesitated for a moment, then floored the gas pedal.

Cecilia gripped the handrail tightly, her entire body tense.

Apart from the crazy speed, she was worried about Seraphina's state.

She thought, 'Please, please don't do anything foolish with Sebastian!'

The car soon reached its destination.

Cecilia tore off her seatbelt, opened the door, and rushed into the hotel lobby.

The front desk clerk was startled by Cecilia's appearance.

She quickly stood up and asked, "Miss, what can I do for you?"

"Please check which room Seraphina is in," Cecilia demanded.

The clerk hesitated but then gathered her courage and said, "I'm sorry, Miss, but we can't disclose guest information."

"My friend has been forcibly brought here after being drugged," Cecilia said with full-on aggression, "If you don't tell me which room my friend is in now, she's going to be raped. Can your hotel afford such consequences?!"
