Chapter 808 Scolded Again

Arriving at the conference room floor.

Two of Seraphina's other secretaries were waiting outside the door.

Since the meeting had already started, the secretaries had nothing else to do and were just standing there chatting.

"The cake this morning was the best I've ever had in my life, sweet but not too much. I still feel a sense of happiness just thinking about it."

"Of course, you know that cake is Mr. Montgomery's special cake, right? I heard it was made by a chef from a high-end restaurant."

"Why didn't Ms. Everhart eat any?" one secretary wondered.

"No idea," the other secretary was also puzzled. "She didn't eat, so we got to enjoy it."

"Do you think there's something between Ms. Everhart and Mr. Montgomery..."

One of them quickly interrupted, "Are you crazy, gossiping about the boss behind their back?"

"No, I just think Mr. Montgomery and Ms. Everhart make a good match. I think Mr. Montgomery definitely has feelings for Ms. Everhart. Not only did he give her such delicious cake, but Ms. Everhart isn't even that capable, yet Mr. Montgomery still lets her hold such a high position. He even handles a lot of work for her privately and tells us not to let Ms. Everhart know..."

The secretary was so excited she could hardly breathe. She took a breath and concluded, "Mr. Montgomery definitely likes Ms. Everhart."

"I think so too." When women start gossiping, they really can't stop.

They forgot they were talking about the two highest-ranking leaders at Everhart Bank.

"But it seems like Ms. Everhart doesn't feel the same about Mr. Montgomery. Didn't they get married before? I heard it was Ms. Everhart who insisted on the divorce. They say Mr. Montgomery was very heartbroken. Look, even after being hurt so deeply by Ms. Everhart, Mr. Montgomery still cares so much about her. He's really too devoted; I'm moved."

"What good does it do for you to be moved!" the other secretary couldn't help but retort. "Mr. Montgomery won't like you. But you know, even though Ms. Everhart can be a bit clumsy sometimes, she's really very beautiful and has a great figure. If I were a man, I'd like her too."

"Are you saying Mr. Montgomery fell for Ms. Everhart's looks?"

"The pursuit of beauty is human nature." The secretaries laughed, getting more and more excited.

Until they saw Dashiell suddenly appear in front of them.

Both of their faces turned pale with fright.

Their smiles froze.

Seeing Dashiell in front of them, they couldn't say a word.

Dashiell walked past them indifferently.

It felt like a cold breeze.

Dashiell walked into the conference room.

The two secretaries looked at each other.

It's over.

Get ready to pack up and be fired!

Conference room.

Seraphina was presiding over the work.

The door opened.

Dashiell walked in with Natalia and Daphne.

Seraphina glanced over.

Natalia followed behind him.

She secretly rolled her eyes.

Are they really that inseparable?

She shifted her gaze and continued, "Mr. Wright, the project we discussed last week doesn't seem to have made any progress this week."

"The lack of progress this week is because the person in charge on the other side has been traveling. I've tried to schedule many times. There will definitely be progress this week," Jeremy Wright quickly responded.

"Alright," Seraphina nodded. "This project has been discussed since the New Year, but there hasn't been much progress. You need to speed things up."

"Okay," Jeremy agreed.

Seraphina was about to move on to the next item.

Dashiell interrupted her directly, "If I remember correctly, I assigned Mr. Wright to handle this project when I was the general manager. Why is there still no progress after so long?"

His voice was noticeably more severe.

Seraphina was startled by Dashiell's sudden words.

Jeremy looked at Dashiell, nervously explaining, "Because the person in charge on the other side has been out of town, it's been hard to schedule a meeting. We've had one or two discussions before, but they were superficial, so it's been delayed. We're trying to secure this project."

"Is that an excuse?" Dashiell asked him.

His tone was somewhat cold.

The atmosphere suddenly became tense.

Seraphina looked at Dashiell.

She had never thought he had such a tough attitude before!

She didn't dare to speak either.

Jeremy reluctantly said, "We can't meet the person in charge, Mr. Ford. No one else can make decisions. We're really out of options."

"Are you sure Mr. Ford has been out of town? If I remember correctly, I saw him post a News Feed last Friday, attending his daughter's graduation in Serenovia City," Dashiell stated bluntly.

One sentence, and Jeremy's face turned red, "He just got back on Friday. And he had to attend his daughter's graduation, so we couldn't schedule a meeting."

"Is it that you couldn't schedule a meeting, or that you didn't even try?"

Jeremy was at a loss for words.

"Mr. Wright, please answer me," Dashiell demanded firmly.

"I didn't schedule a meeting. I thought Mr. Ford had just returned, and his daughter's graduation was so important, so I didn't want to disturb him," Jeremy defended himself.

"So you think this project isn't important?" Dashiell raised an eyebrow.

It seemed like Dashiell was being overly argumentative.

Even Seraphina couldn't stand it anymore.

She spoke up, "I believe Mr. Wright has his reasons. Sometimes being too aggressive can cause resentment and hinder communication."

"No. It will only make the other party think this project isn't important to us," Dashiell concluded.

"I don't think that's..."

"That's why you haven't been able to meet Mr. Ford for months," Dashiell hit the nail on the head.

Seraphina pursed her lips, clearly taken aback by Dashiell's presence.

"Because the other party doesn't feel your urgency, they can find a thousand reasons to brush off your meeting requests," Dashiell said coldly. "I want to see clear progress on this project within this week!"

"Mr. Ford has already left Serenovia City this week," Jeremy couldn't help but say. "I checked his schedule; he won't be back until at least next Wednesday."

"So the promise you just made to Ms. Everhart about progress this week was just a brush-off, or even a lie!" Dashiell accused him of a serious offense.

Jeremy felt humiliated by Dashiell's sarcasm.

He was indeed just brushing it off.

He didn't really respect Seraphina and didn't want to explain too much. He thought he could just brush it off.

And Seraphina was really easy to brush off.

"I..." Jeremy was at a loss for words.

"Ms. Everhart," Dashiell looked at Seraphina, his face stern, "In work, I hope you can be more stringent. Not just with yourself, but with your subordinates as well. This is being responsible for the company!"
