Chapter 233 The Wedding (5) Caught Kissing
Magnolia said, "I've lived with Seraphina for years; I know her well. She's not a bad person, which is why I let her marry Dashiell. If it were anyone else, I wouldn't have agreed so easily."
Cecilia listened quietly.
It turned out that Dashiell and Seraphina's marriage had their parents' blessing.
Atticus definitely agreed. He preferred Dashiell over Sebastian and was probably happy Seraphina could marry Dashiell, even if it meant sacrificing his own marriage.
Cecilia was surprised Magnolia approved.
She had worried if their parents would affect Seraphina and Dashiell's marriage.
She couldn't let anyone ruin their wedding.
Cecilia had wanted to say something nice about Seraphina to ease Magnolia's concerns, but it now seemed unnecessary.
Cecilia smiled, "Hearing you say that, Magnolia, I'm relieved. I was worried Seraphina might unintentionally offend you. I know you understand her, so I won't say more."
"Seraphina is lucky to have a friend like you."
Most friends wouldn't worry about Seraphina's relationship with Magnolia after marriage.
Cecilia even came to speak well of Seraphina.
"It's mutual." Cecilia smiled, "I believe Seraphina will fall in love with Dashiell in time."
"Hope so." Magnolia sighed, "It would have been better if you married Dashiell."
Cecilia was a bit startled.
She and Dashiell had no romantic feelings for each other.
Even if they were in the same bed, they wouldn't think of each other that way.
"But marrying Alaric is also good." Magnolia murmured.
Cecilia didn't take Magnolia's words to heart. She knew the boundary and when to stop. She turned to Dashiell and said, "Dashiell, you look very handsome today."
"It's all thanks to your clothes." Dashiell was always modest.
His modesty wasn't for show.
He genuinely didn't think he was that outstanding.
Maybe because he came from a single-parent family, Dashiell was introverted and never showed off.
In fact, he was more outstanding than most people.
"The clothes fit perfectly." Dashiell added.
He was still a bit surprised.
Originally, the clothes were Sebastian's size, but they seemed tailored for him.
"As long as you like it." Cecilia didn't explain much, saying, "I'm leaving now. See you at the banquet."
"See you later."
As Cecilia left, Magnolia stood up, "In about ten minutes, you'll need to come out with Seraphina. I'll go greet the guests now."
"Okay." Dashiell nodded.
"Do what you can."
"Will do."
However, he wouldn't.
When it came to Seraphina, Dashiell had no principles. In other words, she was his only principle.
Magnolia was worried but still left Dashiell's room.
The doctor had checked Dashiell's bones, confirmed no major issues, and sat nearby to keep him company.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Dashiell thought it was Seraphina.
They were supposed to go to the banquet together, even with just twenty guests.
He looked at the door, a slight smile on his lips.
Then it vanished.
Penelope saw the joy on Dashiell's face turn to disappointment, and he didn't even hide it.
"Are you waiting for Seraphina?" Penelope asked bluntly.
Dashiell changed the topic, "Are you looking for me?"
"If I didn't come to you, would you even look at me?" Penelope said sarcastically.
"Penelope, I've never accepted your affections. From childhood to now, I've never given you any hope."
"Is this what you want to tell me today? When I thought I could win you over, you now tell me you've never given me hope? Dashiell, I've loved you for years, and this is what I get? Such a cold and cruel statement?" Penelope's eyes turned red.
Tears streamed down her face.
It was clear how sad she was.
Dashiell's eyes flickered, and he looked away.
"Is it that you won't care about anyone's tears except Seraphina's?"
"Penelope, I can't give you any promises or say anything nice. If you want a better life, don't invest any feelings in me." Dashiell's words were cold.
His words made Penelope's heart ache.
She didn't understand.
What did Seraphina have that she didn't?
Why did Dashiell like Seraphina?
Was it because her skills in bed?
She had seen Seraphina's wildness in nightclubs, her seductive moves on the dance floor.
She wasn't bad either.
Even if she was a bit worse, she could undergo surgery for Dashiell.
The more Penelope thought about it, the angrier she got.
She lost control and ran to Dashiell, bending down to kiss him as he sat in his wheelchair.
Dashiell was stunned.
He didn't expect Penelope to go this far.
Penelope had liked him for a long time, but she had never been this bold.
So he had no defense.
He didn't react for a long time.
When Dashiell finally reacted, the door to the room was pushed open again.
Seraphina stood there, looking into the room.
Seeing them kissing, she wondered whether to avoid them or confront them.
If they liked each other so much, they should get married.
Forcing her to marry was insane!
In the end, Seraphina didn't avoid them or confront them. She just stood at the door, quietly watching.
Dashiell quickly pushed Penelope away.
Seraphina guessed he probably felt uncomfortable with her presence, so she said, "Just continue."
To Seraphina, Dashiell could do anything with any woman, and she wouldn't care.
Because she didn't care, she had no emotions about it.
At this moment, she turned and left.
She thought, 'Why did Cecilia insist that I call Dashiell? See, I've ruined his moment!'
