Chapter 824 Alaric Returns

Cecilia walked out of the detention center.

Dashiell was waiting for her outside.

When he saw her come out, he quickly approached her and immediately noticed the scratches on her neck.

Dashiell paused.

Cecilia obviously noticed Dashiell's gaze as well. She said, "It's nothing."

But it wasn't nothing.

The three scratches were very noticeable, still oozing blood, looking quite gruesome.

Cecilia walked past Dashiell and got into the car.

Dashiell drove Cecilia back.

Both of them were silent in the car.

Dashiell didn't know what to say.

Cecilia wouldn't start a conversation either.

The car stopped at The Whitaker Villa.

Dashiell got out of the car, intending to escort Cecilia inside.

"No need, you go ahead with your own business," Cecilia refused directly.

Dashiell nodded, "Okay. I called a doctor to come to your house to check on the scratches on your neck."

"Alright," Cecilia didn't refuse.

Dashiell watched Cecilia's back as she walked away, then got back into the car.

He texted Alaric, "I took Cecilia back to the villa. Alaric, when will you be back?"

"Tonight," Alaric replied briefly.

Dashiell typed a message, "Go check on Cecilia when you get back..."

In the end, Dashiell deleted the message and sent a simple "Okay."

The conversation ended.

Cecilia returned to the villa's hall.

George was startled when he saw the scratches on Cecilia's neck, "Ms. Lockhart, your neck..."

"It's nothing, a doctor will come to check on it later," Cecilia said calmly.

"Alright," George saw that Cecilia didn't want to say more, so he didn't dare to ask further.

After a while.

The doctor hurried to The Whitaker Villa and carefully treated the scratches on Cecilia's neck.

While treating her, he advised, "Ms. Lockhart, try not to get the wounds wet for the next few days to avoid infection. Although the scratches aren't deep, bacteria can still grow in the wounds. I've disinfected them thoroughly, but since the weather is getting hotter, I won't bandage them. Normally, you should change the medication three times a day, and it should heal in about a week. Do you want me to come every day to change the medication, or..."

"No need, George can help me with it."

"Alright. If the wounds show signs of infection, notify me immediately."

"Thank you," Cecilia said politely.

The doctor was also very polite.

After treating the wounds, the doctor left.

Cecilia went back to her room to rest.

She hadn't been out for a long time and felt that the outside air was so unfamiliar.

She wondered if, after so long, she no longer yearned for the outside world.

Cecilia slept soundly.

When she opened her eyes, she didn't know what time it was.

It should be very late.

Otherwise, she wouldn't be so hungry.

George usually wouldn't wake her up for meals; he would let her sleep as long as she wanted. When she woke up, George would bring her food immediately.

She turned over.

Just as she was about to get up.

She clearly felt something unusual in the room.

Her eyes moved slightly.

She saw a familiar figure sitting on the edge of the bed.

So.

Alaric was back.

And her movement successfully caught Alaric's attention.

He turned to look at her, "Awake?"

Cecilia responded and tried to get up.

Six months pregnant, she was indeed much heavier than before.

She didn't push Alaric away.

With his help, she sat up.

"Need to use the bathroom?" Alaric asked gently.

He was very careful, as if afraid of scaring her.

"I can do it myself," Cecilia refused.

Alaric's hand on Cecilia's arm stiffened a bit.

Cecilia pursed her lips, "Thank you."

She could change her mind in an instant.

Suppressing his inner emotions, Alaric still helped Cecilia to the bathroom.

He waited for her at the door.

Just leaning against the wall.

Tonight, Alaric had just returned and had been by Cecilia's side since he got back to the villa.

She slept soundly, and even though he was by her side for so long, she didn't wake up.

Several times he worried she might have slept too deeply.

But seeing her so content in her sleep, he suppressed the urge to wake her up again and again.

He even cherished the moments when Cecilia was asleep.

When she was asleep, she was completely unguarded around him.

Cecilia finished washing up and opened the door.

The initial rejection she felt towards Alaric when she first woke up was completely concealed once she was fully awake.

Alaric could also pretend he didn't notice anything.

She said, "Did you come back a few days early?"

Cecilia's initiative to speak made the atmosphere between them less awkward.

"Five days," Alaric said, "The schedule was tight, so I saved some time to come back. I can stay here with you for these five days."

"Alright," Cecilia responded.

She didn't seem very happy, nor did she seem very annoyed.

Their interaction was like that of a long-married couple, calm and indifferent.

But in fact.

They were not a couple.

Cecilia and Alaric went downstairs together.

It was now 11 PM.

She had indeed slept for a long time.

However, when she went downstairs, she saw Juniper in the living room.

Juniper greeted Cecilia and Alaric warmly, "Alaric, Cecilia. You're awake?"

Cecilia pursed her lips.

Alaric nodded slightly.

Cecilia thought, Alaric really wasn't very thoughtful.

Putting Cecilia and Juniper under the same roof, wasn't he afraid they would fight?

Apparently.

Everything Alaric did was under his control.

She and Juniper not only wouldn't have conflicts.

They would even appear unusually polite, even harmonious.

"You haven't eaten yet, have you?" Juniper stood up from the sofa.

She walked casually towards Alaric and Cecilia.

Alaric frowned, "Slow down a bit."

Juniper seemed to realize, and she smiled a bit embarrassedly, "This really is an angel baby, sometimes so well-behaved that I forget he's there. I don't even know what morning sickness feels like."

"Just be careful," Alaric reminded.

"Okay," Juniper agreed obediently.

Cecilia watched their interaction.

She didn't say anything, nor did she show any emotion.

She was just a bit hungry, so she went straight to the dining room.

George saw them awake and was already preparing the dinner he had ready for them.

Cecilia saw that Alaric and Juniper also sat down.

Juniper explained, "I've already eaten, but I just want to eat more. George's cooking is really delicious, if I keep eating like this, I'll definitely get fat."

"Ms. Monroe, I'm glad you like it," George said, a bit embarrassed.

"I really like it," Juniper said, "When I was abroad with Alaric, I kept saying I wanted to eat George's cooking again, and now I finally can."

Juniper ate quite a lot.

Not like someone just pretending to eat.

Juniper seemed like a very sincere person.

George felt awkward being praised and quickly found an excuse to leave.

At the table, only Cecilia, Alaric, and Juniper were left.
