Chapter 209 Dashiell's Unexpected Incident
Cecilia rushed out of the room.
Alaric watched her leave and called Cassius.
"We shouldn't be suspected," Cassius said straight up.
He figured Alaric was worried about whether they were being watched.
"They know you were badly hurt and couldn't be out. You spent the whole day with Cecilia without acting weird, so they probably don't suspect us. Those guys are gone."
"Got it," Alaric replied. "Check if something happened to Dashiell."
"What happened?" Cassius asked, frowning.
"It might be related to Seraphina. Find out and let me know."
"Okay." Cassius hung up.
He knew it.
One day, Dashiell would definitely die because of Seraphina.
Cecilia called Augustus.
Augustus lived close to Alaric's villa.
He was always on call.
Cecilia didn't want to bother Augustus so late, but after recent events, she was scared to go out alone.
She got in the car and called Seraphina.
"Cecilia," Seraphina's voice cracked as soon as she answered, "Are you coming?"
"I'm almost there. Did you call 911?"
"Yeah, they said they're on their way." Seraphina cried, "What if Dashiell dies? Will I get arrested?"
Even now, Seraphina was thinking about herself.
She didn't seem too heartbroken.
Cecilia said, "No, just wait for the ambulance and stay calm."
"Okay," Seraphina nodded.
Cecilia hung up and told Augustus, "Drive faster."
"Got it," Augustus didn't hesitate and sped up.
Cecilia wondered if Augustus was more anxious than she was.
They quickly arrived at the accident scene.
Cecilia jumped out of the car. The ambulance was already there, loading a bloodied Dashiell.
Cecilia ran to Seraphina, grabbed her, and followed the ambulance to the hospital.
Seraphina was shaking in the ambulance.
She had Dashiell's blood on her, looking pretty grim.
Cecilia held Seraphina's hand tightly, "Dashiell will be fine. Trust me."
Even though she knew Dashiell wouldn't die, seeing him covered in blood and so weak still scared her.
Seraphina nodded, crying.
She must have been really frightened.
The ambulance quickly reached the hospital.
Doctors and nurses were waiting at the entrance.
Dashiell was taken off the ambulance and rushed to the emergency room.
Cecilia and Seraphina followed closely.
"Ah!" Seraphina suddenly tripped.
Her high heels were too high, and she was running too fast, causing her to fall.
Cecilia quickly helped her up, "Are you okay?"
Seraphina's tears flowed even more, and she sobbed, "It hurts."
"Be careful," Cecilia said, "Being anxious won't help now."
Seraphina bit her lip, feeling extremely distressed.
She always said she hated Dashiell and Magnolia, but she couldn't bring herself to harm them.
Now that Dashiell had an accident because of her, she naturally felt extremely guilty.
"Can you stand?" Cecilia asked gently.
Seraphina nodded.
Cecilia helped her up, and they limped to the emergency room door.
Dashiell was already inside.
"Cecilia, do you think Dashiell will die?" Seraphina asked nervously, staring at the emergency room light.
She always found the emergency room terrifying.
"Isn't that what you wanted?" Cecilia replied.
She wasn't too worried because she knew the outcome.
Seraphina was stunned and slowly said, "But I'm scared it'll drag me down too."
Cecilia was speechless. She changed the subject, "What happened tonight? Why was Dashiell with you? I thought you didn't like him?"
Seraphina stayed silent.
Even if she didn't say it, Cecilia knew.
Tonight, Seraphina went to a nightclub to party.
She was getting married in a week and wanted to enjoy herself. She'd been partying almost every night lately.
She was having a great time tonight.
Dashiell suddenly called, saying he needed to talk.
Seraphina didn't want to meet him. She didn't like Dashiell, but since she was getting married and would be rid of him soon, she decided to give him one last chance to make things clear and let him give up completely.
With that in mind, Seraphina went to the place Dashiell mentioned.
The first thing Dashiell said was, "Seraphina, don't marry Sebastian."
She was really annoyed and turned to leave.
But since she came to make things clear, she suppressed her disgust and said, "If I don't marry Sebastian, should I marry you?"
"If possible..."
"No way!" Seraphina interrupted, "I have no feelings for you. Don't think that just because I kissed you back then, I had feelings for you. Honestly, at that age, I was just curious about beautiful things. I have to admit, your looks were enough to attract a young girl. I think I was just mesmerized by your face and did something impulsive but meaningless."
Dashiell silently endured her sarcasm.
"I thought you would have understood by now," Seraphina said, "I already dislike you enough. Don't make me hate you even more."
Dashiell knew Seraphina didn't like him.
Not only did she not like him, but she also hated him.
He had planned to bless them.
Then let Seraphina slowly disappear from his life.
One day, she would completely disappear with time.
But now, he regretted it.
He came to stop their wedding a week before Seraphina and Sebastian were to get married.
In Seraphina's mind, he must be disgusting and vile.
The night wind blew on their thin bodies.
Seraphina didn't want to waste words with Dashiell.
She really had no feelings for him.
The only thing she might have felt was a slight touch.
After all, Dashiell was really nice to her.
Sometimes so nice that she would mistakenly think Dashiell was sincere.
But she preferred to believe that Dashiell just wanted to please her to gain a foothold in the Everhart family.
Deep down, she never really accepted Dashiell.
That kiss was really just an accident.
No feelings at all.
