Chapter 347 Compromise to Keep the Child

"Seraphina," Cecilia watched her break down and said, "You really think I'd hurt you?"

"I'm not saying that..."

"We grew up together, tighter than real sisters. If someone wronged you, I'd feel worse than you. And if someone messed with me, you'd wanna kill 'em." Cecilia cut her off, looking dead serious.

Seraphina had never seen Cecilia this intense before. It was like she was laying down something super important.

"I never talk about our feelings' cause I figured we just get it. But now, I gotta say it. Even if I gotta use our bond to make you keep this kid, I hope you do." Cecilia was determined.

That determination made it impossible for Seraphina to say no.

But Seraphina felt torn apart inside.

She couldn't fight it, but she couldn't handle the pain either.

She was scared she might lose her mind.

"If only you could live another life," Cecilia suddenly murmured.

Seraphina had no clue what she meant.

Cecilia didn't bother explaining.

Honestly, not living another life might be a blessing.

At least she wouldn't remember the pain from before.

In this life, she'd protect Seraphina.

Cecilia chuckled softly, "Trust me, one day you'll be glad you kept him."

Seraphina thought, 'No way.'

"Actually, Seraphina, think about keeping this kid from another angle." After being tough, Cecilia tried a softer approach. "Do you think you were born into a happy family?"

"No," Seraphina said flatly.

Her parents had a terrible relationship, always fighting until Mary died.

Their being together was a nightmare.

"Then have you ever regretted being born?" Cecilia asked.

Seraphina was stunned.

She'd never thought about that.

"If you haven't thought about it, it means you don't regret it," Cecilia concluded. "So look at it this way. You were born when your parents were a mess, and you don't regret it. How can you say your kid will? Not only will he not regret it, but he'll thank you for not ending his life."

Seraphina stared at Cecilia.

Cecilia always got the upper hand in their arguments.

Every time, Seraphina ended up getting convinced by her.

She was mad.

But she couldn't find a reason to be mad.

She just stared at Cecilia, speechless.

Cecilia smiled, "God will thank you for your mercy."

Seraphina was convinced, but she didn't want to admit it.

She turned over, pulled the blanket over her. "I'm tired. I don't wanna hear you anymore, you can go."

Cecilia knew Seraphina too well.

Seraphina would never admit someone else was right.

She said, "Then get some rest."

Seraphina didn't respond.

Cecilia tucked her in, then walked out of the room.

In the living room, Dashiell was still on the couch.

Seeing Cecilia, he visibly flinched.

Cecilia was a bit speechless.

She thought, 'Am I that scary?'

She plopped down next to Dashiell casually.

Looking at the TV screen, she couldn't help but tease, "Already getting a head start on cartoons, huh?"

Dashiell snapped out of it.

He quickly changed the channel.

He'd just landed on this channel, and bam, cartoons started playing.

He didn't even know what he was watching.

Cecilia's message had thrown him for a loop.

He couldn't believe it, but he did.

He couldn't be happy, but he was.

He couldn't expect anything, but he did.

A whirlwind of emotions he couldn't quite process.

Dashiell had been sitting stiff as a board on the couch, waiting for Cecilia and Seraphina to come back.

Seraphina clearly didn't want Cecilia to tell him she was pregnant.

And he knew claerly what her not telling meant.

So he sat there, thinking a million things until Cecilia showed up.

Cecilia even made him so nervous he trembled.

"Dashiell, I don't wanna keep this from you. You probably guessed it, Seraphina doesn't want this kid," Cecilia said, getting serious.

Dashiell nodded. Yeah, he knew.

He didn't dare to hope too much.

The bigger the hope, the bigger the letdown.

"But I just made Seraphina agree to keep the kid."

Dashiell looked up at her.

"This kid is the only shot you got to turn things around. I'm on your side, so I'll fight for you. But Dashiell, no matter how much I fight, if you don't step up, it's all for nothing. So while Seraphina's pregnant, you gotta seize the chance to make her fall for you. Trust me, shifting affections ain't hard. Put in the effort, and being a home-wrecker ain't that tough."

Dashiell laughed, "You make it sound like being a home-wrecker is a badge of honor."

"Sebastian's a jerk. it's a badge of honor to steal his girlfriend," Cecilia said firmly.

Dashiell smiled.

Cecilia's words really lifted his spirits.

After all, in Seraphina's eyes, he was the worst.

"The kid should stay. Even if Seraphina says stuff to mess with you, don't sweat it. She doesn't go back on her word to me, and she's not brave enough to get an abortion on her own. My only worry is Sebastian. He might not accept Seraphina carrying your kid and could stir up trouble. Be careful not to let him mess things up at this crucial moment," Cecilia said seriously.

Because this kid could be the game-changer in Seraphina's life.

In the past, Seraphina and Dashiell never had a kid.

Dashiell looked at Cecilia.

He didn't nod or shake his head.

He couldn't promise Cecilia something he wasn't sure about.

He couldn't guarantee he could make Seraphina forget about Sebastian.

Nor could he guarantee Sebastian wouldn't mess things up!

The only thing he could do was change himself.

"Cecilia, thanks," Dashiell said sincerely.

No matter what might happen, he would really be grateful for Cecilia's support.

"Actually, I should be the one thanking you," Cecilia said deeply.

Dashiell was surprised.

"Anyway, she's your problem now."

"Okay."
