Chapter 234 The Wedding (6) Alaric's Jealousy Soars
Cecilia left the Dashiell lounge, heading to find Alaric in the hall. Suddenly, someone grabbed her and dragged her to the back garden of the resort hotel.
She struggled but couldn't break free. Just as she was about to scream, a hand covered her mouth.
She glared at the man in front of her—it was Dominic. Not many people were at Seraphina's wedding, but all four major families were present. In Serenovia City, whenever something happened in one of these families, they all gathered, giving the media something to write about.
Dominic glared at her. "Do you hate me that much?" he asked, covering most of her face, leaving only her angry eyes visible. "How long has it been, Cecilia? You change your mind so fast!" He pulled his hand away, wincing as she had bitten him hard.
Cecilia didn't say a word and tried to leave, but Dominic yanked her back and pinned her against the wall. Usually, Augustus was with her, but today she had left him outside to avoid gossip at the wedding.
She asked coldly, "Mr. Kingsley, what do you want?"
"Nothing. I just can't stand seeing you and Alaric so close!" Dominic dropped the pretense. He knew he couldn't deceive her anymore, so he didn't bother trying.
"So, are you jealous?" Cecilia raised an eyebrow, clearly provoking him.
"Jealous?" Dominic laughed. "Cecilia, you really think I ever liked you? From the first time I saw you, I had no interest. I was just playing along because of that family contract, nothing more."
"Really?" Cecilia smiled faintly. "You use such despicable means to meet me alone just to tell me you never loved me and that your feelings were fake?"
"Glad you understand," Dominic replied.
"Good. That means we're even," Cecilia said calmly.
Dominic's eyes narrowed.
"Just as well, I never loved you either. I was with you because of the family contract. Now that I've found true love, I don't have to feel guilty towards you anymore," Cecilia spoke slowly.
"Do you think I'll believe that?" Dominic's face darkened; his pride couldn't accept that Cecilia didn't love him.
"Believe it or not, that's your problem. I'm fine with Alaric now," Cecilia said, not wanting to waste more words. "Now that we've cleared things up, let me go, Mr. Kingsley."
Dominic sneered, "You think I'll let you go that easily?"
"You said you don't love me. Your actions are making people suspicious," Cecilia shot back.
"Possessing you has nothing to do with love! Do you know what's most important to a man? Money and wealth? No, it's dignity!" Dominic spat. "I've lost so much dignity because of you; how could I just let it go?"
"What do you want?" Cecilia's patience snapped.
Every time she faced Dominic, she wanted to tear him apart.
"If you keep this up, I'll call for help!" she threatened.
"Go ahead. Tomorrow, there will be gossip about us getting back together."
"You're quite clever, Dominic," Cecilia gritted her teeth.
"I learned it from you," Dominic said, staring at her. "Tell me, how should I get my dignity back?"
Cecilia glared at him.
"Make your body submit to me..." Dominic said disgustingly.
"Is that the only lowly tactic you have?" Cecilia asked.
"Of course not, but this one matters to you, doesn't it?" Dominic replied.
"Lowly," Cecilia spat.
"You're not worth using any high-level methods," Dominic said coldly.
He leaned in to kiss her.
Cecilia was ready to scream, willing to do whatever it took to stop him.
"Try kissing her and see what happens," a familiar male voice suddenly said.
Dominic tensed, his face turning grim.
Earlier, he had seen Cecilia alone and couldn't stand how close she was with Alaric. Without thinking, he grabbed her and dragged her to a secluded corner.
He was fed up with Cecilia ignoring him. He had spent most of the day watching her, but she hadn't even glanced his way. Her indifference wasn't an act; she had really fallen for another man. Dominic was shaking with anger.
"Wasn't the last lesson enough for you?" Alaric's voice was cold.
Sometimes Cecilia couldn't tell if Alaric was angry; his statements were always so straightforward.
Dominic didn't move.
"I'll count to three," Alaric said, his patience wearing thin. "Three! Two! One..."
Before Alaric finished, he quickly approached and punched Dominic to the ground.
Cecilia stared at Alaric, amazed. She always felt his strength was beyond normal.
