Chapter 805 Wanting to Have a Baby Girl

"Give it a try," Cecilia urged.

Seraphina's situation was different from hers. Although both were separated from the ones they loved, Dashiell didn't have such heavy responsibilities, so he didn't need to give up anything. They could still get back together.

"I'm too scared to try!" Seraphina retreated.

She was already content with the way she and Dashiell were interacting now, and she had no further expectations.

"I heard that Nexus Strategic Holdings acquired the Whitaker Group, the Lockhart Group, and Everhart Bank. Behind the scenes, the actual owner is either Alaric or Dashiell. In other words, Dashiell is the boss of these three groups," Cecilia said.

She had looked into it out of boredom.

The controller of Nexus Strategic Holdings was indeed Dashiell.

Of course, the real boss was still Alaric, but due to his status, Alaric's name couldn't appear in the business market. Even so, what Dashiell could achieve was beyond the reach of ordinary people.

"So what?" Seraphina was confused.

Dashiell's wealth was his own business.

"Aren't you unhappy that Everhart Bank is owned by Dashiell? Think about it, if you marry Dashiell and have his child, and the child inherits Dashiell's business, wouldn't Everhart Bank come back to you?" Cecilia analyzed for Seraphina.

Seraphina thought Cecilia made some sense.

"In this way, if Mr. Everhart wakes up, you can give him an explanation," Cecilia continued to persuade.

Seraphina's thoughts were swayed by Cecilia's words.

"There's nothing to lose anyway," Cecilia encouraged.

She knew very well that as long as Seraphina took the initiative, Dashiell would compromise.

Dashiell was just not good at expressing himself and was afraid to try again because of past experiences, but in fact, he loved Seraphina.

If Seraphina made a move and pursued him relentlessly, it wouldn't be long before they could attend their wedding.

Maybe they could even attend Seraphina's child's party first.

Seraphina frowned in deep thought.

She was really a bit impulsive, but the thought of actively pursuing Dashiell made her timid.

She struggled with this for a long time.

Taking a deep breath, Seraphina said, "Cecilia, I'm hungry!"

Cecilia rolled her eyes.

Hopeless.

But she knew that Seraphina couldn't be pushed. If pushed too hard, it would backfire.

She would figure it out herself.

Cecilia turned to George and said, "George, could you please make some dinner for Seraphina?"

"Sure, I'll get right on it," George quickly put down what he was doing and went to the kitchen.

Seraphina lay on the couch, looking exhausted. "Cecilia, why do you think we both ended up living such miserable lives? When I was a kid, I always thought I could live on the moon!"

Cecilia couldn't help but laugh.

Childhood, how long ago that was.

She had even forgotten what her childhood dreams were.

"Forget it," Seraphina regained her composure. "We can't let a pregnant woman be sad. How would that affect your baby's mood?"

Saying this, Seraphina moved closer to Cecilia's belly and touched it.

She curiously asked, "Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?"

Cecilia was taken aback.

She had had many prenatal checkups but had never asked the doctor.

She had always ignored it.

Now, with Seraphina's question, she remembered that the baby had a gender.

"Don't you know?" Seraphina looked at Cecilia's expression.

"I never asked the doctor."

"What do you want, a boy or a girl?"

Cecilia was silent.

At first, she wanted a girl because Alaric liked girls.

Then, for a while, she wanted a boy.

Because boys are braver.

She didn't want the baby to be as sentimental as she was.

Now.

She said, "A girl."

Seraphina pursed her lips. "Are you still considering Alaric's feelings?"

It was said that Alaric wanted a girl.

"No," Cecilia shook her head.

Whether Alaric liked boys or girls didn't matter to her anymore.

Maybe it didn't matter to Alaric either.

After all, this child was no longer his only one.

The reason she now wanted the baby to be a girl was simply that a girl wouldn't threaten anyone's interests or get involved in unnecessary conflicts.

She just hoped the baby would be healthy and happy.

Cecilia didn't explain further.

Seraphina didn't ask more.

She knew Cecilia had been deeply hurt by Alaric and didn't want to keep poking at her wound.

After a while.

George brought dinner to Seraphina.

Seraphina ate while praising the food.

Cecilia accompanied Seraphina, watching her happy expression.

Sometimes she really envied Seraphina's personality.

After dinner, they watched TV for a while, then Seraphina and Cecilia went to their room together.

Seraphina went to take a shower first. When she came out, she saw George changing the bed sheets.

"Cecilia, I don't mind. Why are you changing the sheets?" Seraphina said indifferently.

"They needed changing anyway," Cecilia said.

She didn't tell Seraphina.

It was because Alaric had slept there last night.

Even if Seraphina wasn't coming to sleep with her, she would have changed them.

After changing the sheets, the two of them lay on the bed together.

Just like when they were kids.

Seraphina suddenly asked with some sadness, "Cecilia, what are you going to do in the future?"

What to do?

Cecilia thought.

Live.

Just live.

The next day.

As soon as Seraphina's alarm went off, she jumped out of bed.

She had almost formed a habit now. As soon as the alarm went off, she forced herself to get up. Otherwise, if she lay back down, she wouldn't know how long she would sleep.

She groggily walked in the direction she would at home.

Seraphina bumped into the wall, and the pain almost brought tears to her eyes.

Cecilia was woken up by Seraphina's noise. "What's wrong?"

Seraphina seemed to realize she was at Cecilia's house.

She endured the pain. "Nothing, you go back to sleep. It's still early."

"Okay," Cecilia responded.

Since getting pregnant, she often had insomnia.

But she also often felt sleepy.

At this moment, she fell back asleep.

As she drifted off, she felt a bit of comfort.

The old Seraphina wouldn't have been able to get up this early.

She had really grown up a lot.

After washing up, Seraphina was fully awake.

She put on makeup and found some clothes in Cecilia's closet.

They had similar body types and could wear each other's clothes.

And they had been so close since childhood that they didn't need to ask for permission.

Seraphina picked something she liked and quietly left.

Downstairs, George saw Seraphina and quickly approached. "Ms. Everhart, breakfast..."

"No need, George. I'm heading out. When Cecilia wakes up, tell her I went to work," Seraphina said hurriedly.

George quickly agreed.

Watching Seraphina's back, he felt she had changed a lot.

Life shapes people.

George glanced upstairs.

He wondered if Alaric and Cecilia could get better in the days to come.
