Chapter 644 Birthday Cake

Inside the car, Cecilia snuggled up against Alaric.

The car was super quiet, like everyone was lost in their own thoughts.

"Tomas said in a month, I'll be heading to Astralton City to work with him," Alaric suddenly said.

Cecilia pressed her lips together.

She had seen this coming.

In her past life, Dominic had also gone to Astralton City after reaching a certain point.

But clearly, Alaric was moving faster.

Alaric continued, "I might not be able to come back as often."

Cecilia nodded.

What else could she do?

She always thought she could help Alaric, thinking he was just chasing his career. She believed that if she helped him beat Dominic and take his place, it would be enough. She never imagined that Alaric was driven by revenge, such ambition, and she really had limited ability!

"Everything will be fine once it's over," Alaric said, holding her tighter.

He didn't want to leave her either.

"I believe in you, it's just..." Cecilia hesitated.

Alaric asked, "Just what?"

"I feel like there's less I can do to help you," Cecilia said, feeling a bit down.

She wanted to be able to help Alaric too!

Alaric smiled warmly and replied, "Thanks to you showing up out of nowhere, you've helped me get here at least ten years ahead of schedule!"

Cecilia looked at Alaric.

Alaric tapped her nose and added, "Never underestimate your value in my life!"

Cecilia buried her head in Alaric's chest.

"Just focus on resting well," Alaric said, holding her tightly. "Leave the rest to me!"

Cecilia nodded.

Alaric continued, "I promised you I'd come back to you safe, and I will. I always keep my promises!"

"I'll wait for you!" Cecilia affirmed.

At that moment, they never thought that life was unpredictable!

Half a month later, on Alaric's birthday, Cecilia got up early, carefully lifting the blanket. As she whispered, Alaric immediately pulled her into his arms, his voice husky and magnetic, asking, "Where are you going?"

"To the bathroom," Cecilia said, a bit speechless.

Alaric was sleeping soundly, how could he wake up with just a little movement?

He said, "I'll carry you."

Cecilia replied, "I can go by myself."

Yet Alaric didn't listen at all, he directly scooped her up in his arms.

Cecilia wrapped her arms around Alaric's neck.

Alaric placed her on the toilet and said, "Go ahead."

"How can I go with you watching?" Cecilia said angrily, "Get out."

Alaric patted Cecilia's head and laughed, "It's not like I haven't seen it before."

"Alaric!" Cecilia was exasperated.

Alaric remarked, "Don't get mad; you'll wake the baby."

Cecilia said, "Then get out."

With that, Alaric reluctantly left.

Cecilia took a deep breath.

Alaric was really hard to get rid of.

Cecilia had planned to get up early to make him a birthday cake, but it seemed impossible to surprise him now.

She quickly finished using the bathroom and washing up.

When she opened the bathroom door, Alaric was blocking the doorway.

"I don't want to sleep anymore," Cecilia said.

Alaric asked, "Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

"I want to make you a birthday cake," Cecilia said directly.

Alaric paused.

"Isn't today your birthday?" Cecilia looked at him.

Alaric's throat moved slightly. "I never celebrated my birthday before."He had just casually mentioned it to Cecilia.

He had always been used to celebrating Jasper's birthday with him.

"That was before. From now on, I'll celebrate this day with you every year," Cecilia said with a sweet smile.

"Okay," Alaric agreed immediately.

Cecilia said, "Now I want to go downstairs to make a cake."

Alaric said, "Let George do it."

"Alaric!" Cecilia said angrily.

Alaric always stopped her.

She was just pregnant, not that fragile.

"I'm worried you don't know how," Alaric said directly.

He added, "When we went to Harborvale last time, I experienced your cooking skills."

"So you're worried the cake I make won't taste good?" Cecilia said angrily.

So she was just being sentimental.

Alaric laughed brightly.

He said, "That's not it. I'm just afraid you'll get hurt."

"Anyway, I don't care, I just want to make you a cake," Cecilia insisted.

Alaric couldn't really refuse Cecilia.

Especially when Cecilia showed any weakness, he would quickly give in.

He kissed her cheek and said, "Okay, but I have to stay by your side."

Cecilia said, "Okay."

They then went downstairs together.

George didn't expect them to get up so early and quickly said, "I'll make breakfast for you right away."

Cecilia replied, "No need. George, I want to make a birthday cake for Alaric myself."

George looked at her with a look of surprise.

Cecilia paused, turned to Alaric, and asked, "Does George not know?"

She thought that since George had been with Alaric for so long, he would surely know Alaric's birthday.

Alaric replied, "Except for you, everyone around me knows."

"George just didn't expect you to know," Alaric explained, then walked over to George and said, "She knows."

George nodded.

When he nodded, he seemed a bit gratified.

Alaric continued, "You go about your business, I'll stay with Cecilia."

"Got it, Mr. Whitaker," George said respectfully and left.

Alaric waved. "Let's go, Cecilia."

Cecilia felt that Alaric was mocking her.

She had watched many tutorials for this birthday cake, she didn't believe she couldn't succeed.

Then Cecilia and Alaric walked to the open kitchen together.

Cecilia was busy.

Alaric hugged her from behind the whole time, being very affectionate and occasionally getting handsy, which made Cecilia flustered.

Finally, Cecilia finished the cake.

She reached out to take the cake out of the oven.

Cecilia yelped.

It was hot.

Alaric quickly took Cecilia's hand and put it to his mouth.

He licked it gently with his tongue.

Did it have to be so erotic?

"It doesn't hurt anymore." Cecilia blushed.

Alaric responded, his tongue leaving her fingertip.

He was really good at seducing her.

Cecilia quickly pulled her hand back.

Alaric looked at Cecilia's little movements, really full of desire.

Who was really being tormented?

Alaric carried the cake with Cecilia to the dining room.

Cecilia eagerly watched as Alaric took a bite with the utensils, waiting a long time for Alaric's feedback.

"Is it not good?" Cecilia asked nervously.

Alaric shook his head.

"Is it good?" Cecilia asked.

Alaric shook his head again.

Cecilia called out, "Alaric!"

Alaric smiled and said, "I could taste it—the flavor of Mom."

"My mom," he murmured, "my biological mother once made me a birthday cake as well."
