Chapter 610 Francis (2)

Cecilia was totally speechless.

It wasn't like she didn't pick Alaric, alright?

She just had no clue that Alaric was into her.

Alaric was a master at hiding his feelings.

"We just can't wrap our heads around why Alaric didn't try to win you back. In every way, Dominic doesn't hold a candle to Alaric. Getting you back would've been a walk in the park," Francis said, still fuming.

Hearing this, Cecilia felt a bit ticked off too.

If Alaric had made a move earlier, who knows if she would've ended up with him? At least he wouldn't have dated so many other women!

The thought of him with all those women made her feel pretty bummed out.

She figured it was best not to dwell on it.

"It always seemed like the pain Alaric went through because of you and Dominic wasn't worth it," Francis kept complaining.

Cecilia didn't want to say much, especially not in front of Francis, and she didn't want to badmouth Alaric.

But she couldn't help herself and snapped back, "Heartbroken? Really? In all those years without me, he had a ton of women around him. He seemed pretty happy to me."

Suddenly, Francis gave Cecilia a weird look that made her feel a bit uneasy.

Did she say something wrong?

"So Alaric never told you that from start to finish, he never slept with any woman other than you?" Francis said with a smirk.

Cecilia's heart skipped a beat, and she stared wide-eyed at Francis.

"You heard me right. Alaric has only ever been with you," Francis repeated, shaking his head. "Alaric is really good at keeping secrets."

"Everyone says Alaric is a womanizer, that he's been with tons of women. But it's all an act," Francis explained. "Back then, to avoid certain people's attention, Alaric played the part of a playboy to throw them off and make things easier for himself. And it worked. His playboy image helped him get into the noble family and climb to his current position. Many people, including Dominic, had a skewed view of him. Dominic probably never knew how powerful Alaric really was, even until his death!" Francis looked disdainful as he spoke.

Cecilia pressed her lips together, thinking about how tragic Dominic's life really was.

"Those so-called women were just a cover for Alaric. He never touched them. On the other hand, Cassius has been with countless women," Francis said bluntly.

Cecilia felt overwhelmed by all this new info.

She had always thought Alaric was super experienced, which is why he was so skilled.

But it turned out she was the only one.

She suddenly felt really happy.

"Women are so predictable," Francis teased.

Cecilia couldn't control her facial expressions at that moment and didn't argue with Francis.

Francis didn't dwell on it either and continued, "I never thought Alaric loved you that much. I thought you were just his first love, especially after seeing your photo. Cassius showed it to me; he stole it from Alaric. In the photo, you looked like a flower in a greenhouse. For someone like Alaric, who was always in danger, there would always be something he longed for deep down. You were that longing. But one thing made me realize just how much Alaric loved you."

"What was it?" Cecilia asked nervously.Francis replied, "There was this one time, Alaric got drugged with an aphrodisiac. It was a setup, but to avoid suspicion, he went along with it. After taking the drug, Cassius sent a woman to him. You remember Rebecca, right?"

Cecilia nodded.

Rebecca had been gone for a long time, and Cecilia had almost forgotten about her.

"She went to Alaric, completely naked, but he kicked her out. Do you know how he got through that rough night?" Francis asked.

"How did he manage?" Cecilia's heart was pounding.

Francis answered, "With your photo."

Hearing this, Cecilia felt a sharp pain in her chest.

Francis continued, "We don't know what he went through that night. He locked himself in a room, and no one dared to go in. Cassius tried to barge in but came out with a black eye, shaking his head and saying, 'Let him be.' Alaric is incredibly stubborn. Once he sets his mind on something, no one can change it. So I think his love for you is a lifelong thing."

Cecilia bit her lip.

At that moment, she didn't know how to respond.

Alaric's feelings for her seemed deeper than she had ever imagined.

Francis remarked, "After that night, no one knew what condition Alaric was in. That drug was really strong; some people couldn't survive it and died. Alaric didn't die, but everyone feared he might be impotent. No one dared to test it with another woman. Cassius's black eye is still fresh in my memory. Luckily, you suddenly decided to marry Alaric. So, how is Alaric's sexual ability?"

Hearing his words, Cecilia was mortified.

How could she tell him that?

How could she tell him that Alaric was amazing in bed?

Good-looking and skilled.

Cecilia's face turned even redder.

Francis laughed and said, "I can tell from your expression that Alaric is just fine. Of course, Alaric is so strong; he wouldn't be easily defeated."

Cecilia bit her lip and stayed silent.

Francis then switched topics. "Knowing how much Alaric loves you, I'm kinda jealous. I thought Alaric only loved me, but it turns out there's someone he loves so deeply. I can't help but feel a bit jealous."

Cecilia stared at Francis, stunned.

So Francis actually had ulterior motives.

Seeing Cecilia's guarded expression, Francis laughed exaggeratedly. He continued, "I was just young and foolish back then. Now, not only am I not jealous of you, but I'm also grateful to you. Thank you for being by Alaric's side, for letting him feel true warmth, so I don't have to carry guilt forever."

Cecilia's eyes softened at his words.

She seemed a bit puzzled as to why he felt guilty.

"Alaric and I grew up in different environments," Francis murmured. It seemed like he had never talked about these things before. His eyes were distant, as if his thoughts had drifted far away. He continued, "After Alaric was born, he was sent to Serenovia City. They say he didn't come back until he was three. At an age when he didn't understand anything and hadn't accepted his biological parents, he was sent to a cruel place. After that, he was sent away periodically. Sometimes, he would be left in the wilderness while he was sleeping, and he had to rely on his own abilities to survive and find his way back."

Cecilia pressed her lips together.

No matter how many times she heard about Alaric's experiences, it always made her heart race with fear.
