Chapter 798 Obedience
Cecilia was feeling a bit sleepy.
Even though she had napped all afternoon, she was still tired.
She stretched and said, "I'm going back to my room to sleep. Are you going to watch TV for a while longer?"
Alaric shook his head.
He just wanted to be with her.
"Then I'll turn off the TV."
"Okay."
Cecilia turned off the TV and got up to go upstairs.
Alaric supported her body.
Cecilia didn't refuse but said, "Actually, I'm only a little over five months pregnant, my body isn't that heavy."
She meant that he didn't need to be so cautious with her.
Alaric's support was a bit stiff.
He said, "Okay."
Then, he slowly let go of Cecilia.
Cecilia walked ahead, step by step, making sure to walk carefully.
She was doing it on purpose for Alaric to see.
To let him know that she was taking good care of herself.
That she wouldn't do anything to harm herself again.
Alaric followed behind her, closely matching her steps.
Even though he knew Cecilia wouldn't do anything extreme again, he still didn't dare to relax for a second.
They returned to the bedroom one after the other.
Cecilia said, "I'm going to take a bath."
"I'll run the water for you."
"Thank you," Cecilia said.
Alaric's back was a bit stiff as he walked to the bathroom.
Once upon a time, the two of them had become so distant.
So polite.
Alaric walked into the bathroom.
Cecilia looked in the direction of the bathroom, her face darkening.
But the moment Alaric came out, she quickly masked it.
She even smiled a little and said, "Is it ready?"
"It's ready."
"Then I'll go take a bath," Cecilia said.
Her seemingly casual words were actually seeking his approval.
It felt as if Cecilia needed his permission to do anything.
Alaric pressed his lips tightly together.
He knew that everything Cecilia was showing him now was just her forcing herself.
She was just forcing herself.
"Okay," Alaric responded.
Only then did Cecilia walk into the bathroom.
After closing the bathroom door, the smile on Cecilia's face faded away.
She thought, one day Alaric would get tired of this.
One day, he would have enough of her personality.
Cecilia carefully washed herself.
In the hospital, she hadn't had a proper bath.
When she came back in the afternoon, she was too tired to move.
After waking up, she was too hungry and chose to eat first.
So now, she took a longer bath.
It wasn't too long.
But clearly, Alaric outside started to get anxious. He gently knocked on the bathroom door, "Cecilia?"
Cecilia responded.
Hearing her voice, Alaric seemed to relax a bit.
Not seeing Cecilia made him inexplicably anxious.
"Staying in the bath too long can cause oxygen deprivation, you should finish up soon," Alaric reminded.
"Okay."
Really, after agreeing to that "okay," the sound of running water inside stopped.
Alaric pressed his lips together.
Cecilia's obedience made his heart ache.
Cecilia now seemed to only comply with him.
After a while.
Cecilia opened the bathroom door.
She was wearing pink pajamas, and because of the bath, her previously pale face had a bit of a rosy glow, and her smooth skin seemed to have a bit of a sheen, making her look captivating.
Alaric's throat moved.
He walked into the bathroom, "I'll help you dry your hair."
"Okay," Cecilia nodded.
Whatever Alaric said, she agreed.
Alaric suppressed his emotions and carefully dried Cecilia's hair.
Cecilia sat in front of the vanity mirror, looking at their reflections.
She slowly lowered her eyes.
She said, "Alaric, what do you think if I cut my hair?"
Alaric's hand froze.
"After getting pregnant, my body will become more and more inconvenient. If I cut my hair short, it won't be so tiring to wash it each time."
"Okay," Alaric nodded.
"Thank you," Cecilia thanked him again.
It was clearly her own hair, she had the right to decide, why did she need to thank him?
Alaric didn't say anything more.
After drying her hair, he accompanied Cecilia to bed.
Cecilia fell asleep after lying down.
Alaric waited until Cecilia was asleep before carefully getting out of bed and walking out to the balcony.
In the early spring of Serenovia City, the temperature was actually quite low at night.
Alaric went out wearing only a thin dark green pajama.
Cecilia opened her eyes and watched his back.
After sleeping all afternoon, how could she possibly fall asleep so quickly?
She just didn't want to interact with him.
She actually knew what Alaric was doing on the balcony.
He was probably making a phone call.
Tonight, Alaric's phone had rung countless times, but he had ignored it, putting his phone on silent to focus on being with her.
Alaric was on the phone for a long time.
He probably had a lot of work.
After all, Alaric had left directly from the inauguration ceremony, leaving behind a pile of work that had probably accumulated a lot by now.
Cecilia got out of bed.
She put on a thick bathrobe and casually picked up a thick men's bathrobe.
The matching bathrobes they had once bought now seemed a bit ironic.
Cecilia opened the glass door to the balcony.
Alaric was still talking, but when he heard the sound, he quickly turned to look at Cecilia.
"Don't mind me, I just came to give you a coat, it's cold at night," Cecilia explained.
Alaric's eyes showed obvious surprise.
He just watched Cecilia.
Watched her struggle to put the bathrobe on him.
His body was even stiff, not daring to move.
"Mr. Whitaker?" The person on the other end, not getting a response from Alaric, couldn't help but call him respectfully.
Alaric came back to his senses.
At that moment, after Cecilia put the coat on him, she returned to the room.
Alaric's throat moved, he suppressed his voice, trying to stay calm as he said into the phone, "Go on."
"Yes," the other person respectfully continued to report the work.
After returning to the room, Cecilia didn't go back to sleep.
She really couldn't sleep.
She casually picked up a parenting book and started reading.
After a while, Alaric came back.
When he came back, he was still wearing the thick bathrobe.
Even though the house had the heating on.
"Aren't you hot?" Cecilia looked at him, wrapped up so tightly.
Alaric was a bit embarrassed.
He said, "I just came in, I didn't feel hot."
Cecilia chuckled softly and didn't say anything more.
Alaric quietly took off the bathrobe.
Reluctantly took it off.
He got back into bed and sat at the headboard with Cecilia, "What are you reading?"
"A parenting book, to pass the time."
"Okay," Alaric nodded.
His heart suddenly felt warm.
About to become parents, sometimes just seeing information about babies could make them feel incredibly soft-hearted.
"Alaric, you should go back tomorrow," Cecilia suddenly said.
