Chapter 806 Can You Be My Boyfriend?
Seraphina hurriedly bought breakfast and then rushed to work.
Her alarm clock was always set with no extra time, and today, coming from Cecilia's place, it took a bit longer, so she was running a bit late.
She didn't know when it started, but she felt that being late was a sin.
She dashed into the elevator.
Just as the elevator doors were closing, she pressed the button to open them again.
As she stepped in.
Seraphina paused.
It was Dashiell.
Dashiell usually arrived at work quite early.
Today, he was a bit late.
Seeing him, she tried to appear calm, "Good morning, Mr. Montgomery."
"Good morning," Dashiell nodded in response.
Just like he treated all the employees in the company.
Maintaining distance, maintaining respect.
After the greeting.
They both fell silent.
It was a bit awkward.
Seraphina watched the numbers on the elevator, feeling inexplicably nervous.
Facing Dashiell, especially alone, especially in a confined space, she just got nervous, increasingly nervous.
She even felt like her heart was about to jump out.
She would rather take the next elevator than be alone with Dashiell.
She was afraid she might get a heart attack.
"Haven't had breakfast?" Dashiell suddenly asked, glancing at the breakfast in her hand.
"Yes," Seraphina nodded.
She usually bought breakfast outside, it was a habit.
She said, "Have you eaten?"
She regretted asking as soon as she said it.
Dashiell was such a disciplined person, how could he come to work without having breakfast?
He probably even worked out before leaving in the morning.
"Haven't eaten," Dashiell replied.
Seraphina was stunned.
She looked at Dashiell in disbelief.
"Woke up a bit late today, didn't have time for breakfast," Dashiell seemed to explain.
"Okay," Seraphina nodded again.
As she nodded, she impulsively said, "Do you want some?"
She regretted it again after asking.
She had just bought a sandwich from a street vendor, would Dashiell eat it?
Dashiell always lived a refined life, rarely eating food from street vendors.
Unlike her.
She always felt that street food tasted better than food from fancy restaurants.
She even enjoyed eating barbecue and drinking beer on the street at midnight, it was so relaxing.
"Sure," Dashiell agreed.
Seraphina's eyes widened.
Did she hear that right?
Dashiell wanted to eat her breakfast.
"If it's not enough for you, then forget it," Dashiell said calmly.
"No," Seraphina quickly handed her breakfast to him, "You can have it, I'm afraid you might not like it."
"You're not eating?"
"I'm actually not that hungry," Seraphina smiled flatteringly, "Besides, if the boss wants to eat, of course, I have to let you eat first. It's an unwritten rule in the workplace."
Dashiell turned and smiled.
Did she know what an unwritten rule in the workplace was?
Just then.
The elevator arrived.
Dashiell took Seraphina's breakfast and left first.
After he left, Seraphina let out a long breath.
She just felt so oppressed.
Speaking of which, Seraphina touched her stomach.
She was really hungry.
Seraphina walked out of the elevator and into her office.
She never used to eat breakfast.
Since she started working regularly, not eating breakfast was too painful.
But she had already given it to Dashiell, it was too late to regret it now.
Seraphina tried to immerse herself in work.
There was a knock on the door, "Ms. Everhart."
"Come in."
Her secretary came in, holding a delicate pastry and a cup of warm milk, "Ms. Everhart, your breakfast."
"You prepared this for me?" Seraphina was pleasantly surprised.
No wonder so many men got involved with their secretaries.
At this moment, she wanted to hug her secretary and give her a kiss.
"No, it was sent over by Mr. Montgomery's secretary. It should be from Mr. Montgomery," the secretary quickly said.
Dashiell?
Impossible.
Would he prepare breakfast for her?
Or was it because she gave him breakfast today, so he felt guilty?
Her heart started racing.
She suddenly remembered what Cecilia told her yesterday.
To give it a try.
Should she give it a try?
Was Dashiell showing kindness to her?
The more Seraphina thought about it, the faster her heart beat.
It was just pursuing a man, but she felt like she was about to have a heart attack.
Seraphina suddenly stood up from her office chair.
The secretary had just placed the breakfast on her desk and was startled by Seraphina's actions.
"Ms. Everhart..."
"Just leave it here," Seraphina said, leaving the office.
The secretary watched Seraphina's back.
Seraphina was still so impulsive.
If it weren't for Dashiell, who knows how many problems there would have been.
She probably didn't even know how much work Dashiell had done for her behind the scenes during her time as general manager.
They were both human.
How could Seraphina be so lucky!
Seraphina ran all the way to Dashiell's office.
She felt that if she didn't muster the courage to express her thoughts now, she would never be able to say it.
She didn't hesitate, not even knocking on the door.
She directly opened Dashiell's office door.
Inside the office.
The words on Seraphina's lips hadn't been spoken yet.
She froze.
She saw a woman sitting on the office sofa.
Dashiell was sitting next to her.
And this woman was eating the breakfast she had just given to Dashiell.
They seemed to be chatting, laughing and talking.
Seraphina looked at them.
They also looked at Seraphina.
The woman put down the sandwich, wiped her fingers, stood up from the sofa, and smiled sweetly, "Ms. Everhart, hello, I'm Natalia, we've met before."
Seraphina frowned.
She didn't have much of an impression.
"Last time at the night event, my dad had dinner with you all, I came later, maybe Ms. Everhart was a bit drunk and doesn't remember me," Natalia said.
Seraphina frowned.
She remembered in that instant.
It was Landon's daughter from the State Office, they had indeed met once.
"I remember," Seraphina smiled.
Dashiell's blind date, how could she forget?
So what was Natalia doing here now?
Natalia seemed to read Seraphina's mind and said, "I graduated from college and was originally applying for a job at the State Office, but I didn't like the monotonous work, so I asked my dad to let me work in a company. I was planning to find a job myself, but my dad took the initiative to call Dashiell and arranged for me to work here. Today is my first day."
"Really?" Seraphina smiled.
On her first day, Dashiell personally received her.
"Please take care of me, Ms. Everhart," Natalia extended her hand, appearing very polite.
Seraphina shook her hand.
She said, "I can't teach you much, I'm afraid I'll lead you astray. You should let Mr. Montgomery teach you, he knows everything."
"I will study hard and work diligently," Natalia said enthusiastically.
"Then I won't disturb you," Seraphina turned to leave.
"Seraphina," Dashiell suddenly called her.
Seraphina paused.
"Do you need something?"
How could she answer?
Ask if he could be her boyfriend?
Was it appropriate now?
