Chapter 550 Successfully Sowing Discord
Lyra felt a bit embarrassed by Cecilia's sudden remarks.
Putting the past aside, it was clear that Cecilia was pretty amazing now.
Cecilia was more attractive than Lyra, had a better figure, and was a powerhouse in the business world. Her family background was respectable, even if not the most prestigious. She was more than a match for Dominic, with her impressive education, talent, and some hidden identities that had recently come to light, leaving people truly amazed.
Lyra's face turned much colder. Cecilia was indeed much better than other women.
Someone like her was hard for men to ignore.
Yet, Lyra stubbornly said, "Feelings can't be measured by any material things. Liking someone or not might simply be a matter of fate."
"Fate?" Cecilia laughed. "Would someone as materialistic as Dominic believe in fate? If so, why are all the people he dates either rich or noble?"
Lyra said, "There needs to be a match in status."
"So, the people Dominic chooses are still those who are valuable to him—useful and advantageous in terms of money and power." Cecilia concluded.
"No matter what you say, in my view, you're just jealous of my relationship with Dominic. Just because Alaric is in prison and you know he has no hope, you want to get back with Dominic. Cecilia, I'm not stupid; I know exactly what you're thinking," Lyra said sarcastically.
Cecilia said, "No matter what happens to Alaric in the end, Dominic is a jerk in my eyes!"
Lyra was angry. "Cecilia, mind your language!"
Cecilia said, "Do you know how many women Dominic has slept with over the years, Ms. Monroe?"
Lyra replied, "That was before he married me. He doesn't need to be responsible for anything he did before."
"Your feelings for Dominic are indeed deeper than I thought. When it comes to dealing with women, Dominic is indeed extraordinary."
Cecilia said, "That's because he truly loves me."
"Why are you so sure that Dominic loves you?" Cecilia asked.
Lyra said, "When it comes to feelings, only the people involved know. I know better than anyone who treats me well."
Cecilia said, "That's because you don't know what kind of person Dominic really is."
Lyra said, "Cecilia, I don't want to waste words with you..."
"How about this," Cecilia said directly, "Do you want to test Dominic?"
"Why should I test him?" Cecilia said.
Cecilia said, "Of course, that's your business. I'm just offering my suggestion. After all, in my view, a man like Dominic doesn't deserve a woman as good as you."
Lyra sneered. "No matter what you say, my relationship with Dominic won't be affected."
"Wasn't Dominic at his lowest when he was with you?" Cecilia continued, unaffected by Lyra's words. "Every time he faced difficulties, it was you who helped him out. Was it a coincidence, or was it premeditated?"
Lyra's face looked very unpleasant.
Cecilia continued, "Whether Dominic is with you for the Monroe family's power or because he truly loves you, you only need to use the child in your belly to verify!"
"How do you know I'm pregnant?" Lyra's face showed a shocked expression.
Cecilia smiled. "I know a lot of things, which is why I'm certain about Dominic's feelings for you."
"What exactly do you want?" Lyra asked.
"A man like Dominic won't end well," Cecilia said bluntly.
Lyra scrutinized Cecilia.
Cecilia calmly pulled out her phone, opened a video, and handed it to Lyra.
Lyra's face immediately darkened.
The video showed Dominic being seduced by Cecilia on his wedding day.
Back then, to meet Alaric, she had used it to threaten Dominic and then deleted the video in front of him.
But before deleting it, she had Dashiell back it up for her.
So, it wasn't entirely gone.
For someone like Dominic, fair play wasn't necessary.
Cecilia watched as Lyra's face grew darker and darker.
Cecilia said, "A leopard can't change its spots."
After watching the video, Lyra was furious.
Dominic was shockingly infatuated with Cecilia, to the point of being completely uncontrollable.
Lyra had always believed that Dominic loved her and that his interactions with other women were just a facade.
She had never doubted Dominic's feelings for her; after all, he treated her so well that she couldn't find any faults.
"Back then, I was deceived by him in the same way." Cecilia stood up.
She had achieved her purpose for coming today.
"If you want to verify whether Dominic truly loves you, you can try the suggestion I just gave you. Of course, I admit I'm not doing this to help you. I just can't stand a scumbag like Dominic, who only plays with women, being so happy. He should get what he deserves!"
With that, Cecilia left gracefully, as if she were certain that Lyra would believe her words and follow her plan.
Lyra was furious, thinking again about the video Cecilia had just shown her.
At this moment, she was so angry that her body was trembling!
As Cecilia walked out of the restaurant, Penelope stood at the entrance, completely breaking down.
She yelled at Dashiell, "Cecilia and Seraphina are both bitches. Don't you know that birds of a feather flock together? Why do you keep getting deceived over and over again? Dashiell, the person who loves you the most in this world is me, only me!"
Dashiell remained indifferent, showing Penelope nothing but infinite coldness.
He said, "My affairs have nothing to do with you."
Penelope said, "Dashiell, what will it take for you to know how much I love you, how deeply I love you!" Penelope cried uncontrollably. "What do I have to do for you to see my worth?"
Dashiell said, "Sorry, I can't see it."
"Do I really have to die in front of you to make you understand?" Penelope asked, her tears flowing uncontrollably. She was in extreme pain, overcome with despair.
Dashiell's throat moved slightly.
He wasn't as indifferent to Penelope's emotions as he appeared.
"Dashiell," Cecilia called out to him.
Actually, from Dashiell's expression, Cecilia could see his restraint.
The story between Seraphina and Dashiell was over, and Cecilia had accepted that reality. She just knew that Dashiell could choose any woman, but not Penelope. No matter how much Penelope loved Dashiell, Penelope's nature was too troublesome and would eventually bring him down. Penelope simply wasn't suitable for Dashiell. So, Cecilia would make sure that Dashiell and Penelope were separated.
She took the initiative to go over and hold Dashiell's arm. "Let's go. I don't feel like eating here anymore."
"Cecilia, I'm going to kill you!" Penelope's emotions were at their peak.
She didn't care about anything and rushed forward to fight Cecilia.
Dashiell directly pushed Penelope away and protected Cecilia behind him.
