Chapter 546 Dominic in Trouble

Octavia's snarky comment made Arabella's face twitch. Arabella shot back, "Mrs. Kingsley, I don't see it your way."

"So, you still have faith in Cecilia?" Octavia asked.

"Cecilia's part of the Whitaker family now, so she's one of us. I don't get why you're trying to stir the pot," Arabella replied coolly.

Octavia's face also shifted.

She'd always had it out for Arabella.

To be blunt, it was pure jealousy.

Arabella, being from the top-tier Whitaker family, had a different kind of status. No matter how hard Octavia tried to shine, she always seemed to fall short next to Arabella. She'd been dreaming for years of knocking Arabella down a peg.

With a frosty smile, Octavia said, "Just a friendly reminder, you never really know what someone's thinking."

"True," Arabella nodded. "Like you, for instance."

"Arabella!" Octavia's face darkened, not expecting Arabella to hit back so bluntly.

"Whitaker family business is none of your concern," Arabella said, not wanting to waste more time on Octavia, and walked off with the Whitaker clan.

Octavia watched Arabella leave, shaking with rage.

She'd wanted to mock Arabella, feeling overshadowed by her for years. But more than that, she aimed to isolate Cecilia, causing drama within the Whitaker family. She hoped for a rift between the Lockhart and Whitaker families, so she could benefit from the chaos.

Dominic, Penelope, and Lyra were also with Octavia and saw her setback.

"Let's go," Dominic said, "They'll regret this one day!"

Octavia swallowed her anger and spat, "When that day comes, they'll wish they were dead!"

Dominic nodded.

When that day came, none of them would have a good time!

As the Kingsley family left the Serenovia City District Court, reporters swarmed them.

Dominic quickly shielded Lyra, showing everyone how much he cared for her.

Lyra naturally enjoyed Dominic's attention.

"Mr. Kingsley, is it true Alaric fainted in court from the pressure of not pleading guilty?" a reporter asked.

"Yes," Dominic said, "which forced us to end today's trial."

"Do you think Alaric did it on purpose? To delay his sentencing?" the reporter pressed.

Dominic replied, "I'm not a doctor; I can't say for sure."

"It's said Alaric's lawyer, Preston, was being unreasonable in court. Is that true?" the reporter continued.

Dominic said, "He definitely lacked any logical argument."

The reporter said, "Preston also claimed Juliana's death was linked to you. Is that true?"

"That's why I said he was talking nonsense in court," Dominic said seriously.

In front of all these reporters, he wanted to clear his name.

"But some say Preston has a point. Without solid proof that Juliana was raped by Alaric, anyone could be a suspect," another reporter suddenly said.

Dominic's face darkened.

He was here to clear his name, not to become a suspect.

He said coldly, "You're not a judge; you have no right to make judgments about this case!"

"Are you getting agitated to cover something up?" the reporter shot back.

"Watch your mouth!" Dominic snapped, visibly angry.

The reporter, however, seemed unfazed and continued. "You keep saying only the judge can make judgments. So why do you call my words nonsense? If only the judge can decide, what gives you the right to refute my opinion?"

Dominic's face turned extremely grim.

"This will make people think you are angry out of shame. Could it be that Juliana's death is really related to you?" the reporter pressed.

"If you keep slandering me, I'll sue you!" Dominic threatened through gritted teeth.

The reporter wasn't afraid at all; this was all prearranged by Cecilia and Cassius.

The purpose of the first trial was to implicate Dominic, making it reasonable for Gideon to join the case.

The reporter continued. "I'm just expressing my thoughts. If I've offended you, I apologize. But until the case is clear, anyone who had contact with Juliana could be a suspect. I'm not targeting you; I'm just speaking about the case itself. Please don't twist my words and create a misunderstanding."

Dominic certainly didn't believe the reporter's nonsense.

He knew very well if he was being targeted.

He said righteously, "Alaric's case is for the court to judge. None of us have the right to make conclusions. That's all I have to say. Excuse me, I'm very busy. Please make way."

With that, Dominic pushed through the reporters and left with Lyra.

Octavia and Penelope followed, their faces also looking grim.

Cecilia and Cassius sat in a car, watching the Kingsley family leave the crowd of reporters from a distance.

"Let's go," Cecilia said, retracting her gaze and speaking to Augustus.

Augustus drove away.

Cassius, looking at his phone, said, "I've sent today's interview content to multiple media outlets. The news will be out soon."

"Make sure Dashiell is ready," Cecilia said directly, "I'm worried the Monroe family will suppress the news. If that happens, have Dashiell release it online and artificially boost the views."

"Got it." Cassius nodded.

After discussing business, the car fell silent. They were all likely thinking about Alaric and how he looked in court today. He was so haggard; it was heartbreaking.

At 2 PM, in the news about Alaric's first trial, a sudden headline appeared.

#Juliana's Death Suspected to be Related to Dominic!

The news caused a nationwide sensation, quickly topping the trending charts.

Dominic nearly exploded with anger when he saw the news.

He spent half a day, with the help of the Monroe family, cleaning up the news.

But by midnight, another news article that couldn't be deleted reappeared, putting him back in the spotlight.

That news article took over everyone's phones and computers, automatically appearing online and spreading even faster than the initial media reports!

In no time, rumors about Dominic's involvement in Juliana's death were rampant!
