Chapter 385 Driving Dominic Crazy
Cecilia was chillin' in her office, lost in her thoughts.
Then she hit up Cassius.
"I heard Andrew got nabbed."
"Yeah, keep tabs on Eloise for me," Cecilia shot back.
Cassius frowned, "What's the deal? Andrew's gonna rat her out for sure. Even if he doesn't, we've got enough dirt to nail her."
"I think Dominic's gonna make a move on Eloise," Cecilia said.
"You mean, like, take her out?" Cassius was shocked. "Would he really go that far?"
"He's capable of anything. Eloise is just a pawn to him. When he feels threatened, he'll go all out," Cecilia said, dead serious.
"Got it," Cassius agreed without a second thought.
Cassius was seriously impressed by Cecilia.
He always felt like she had everything mapped out, like she could see the future and was leading everyone into her traps one step at a time.
Cecilia hung up.
She was betting on Dominic losing his cool.
Once he did, he'd definitely go after Eloise. Then Cassius could snag evidence of his crime and cash in on the chaos.
Dominic, after hearing about Andrew's arrest, bailed from the office in a hurry.
Sitting in his car, his face was dark as night.
He sped over to the Kingsley Group.
He was fuming.
He'd told Andrew to be flawless, so how did that moron get caught by Cecilia and then arrested?
Grinding his teeth, he grabbed his phone, "Hey, can you get the prosecution's evidence against Andrew? I need to see how solid their case is!"
The person on the other end laughed.
With a mocking tone, he said, "Dominic, you said you'd crush the Lockhart Group this time, but after a few days of celebrating, now the whole country knows the Kingsley family used dirty tricks to get the Lockhart Group's plans and snagged the project through shady means! Dominic, I'm really disappointed in you! When did you become so useless?"
Dominic's face was ice cold.
He was mad enough to kill!
'A few days of glory, and Cecilia wrecked it all!
"I just got the prosecution's evidence. It's airtight. Not only was Andrew caught on video stealing the plans, but there's also footage of Andrew and your assistant Eloise swapping info, and even videos of them in bed together. Dominic, are you scheming against Cecilia, or is she playing you?" The person on the other end was dripping with sarcasm. "While you were basking in your own glory, Cecilia saw all your weak spots!"
Dominic's hands were shaking as he gripped the steering wheel, cursing, "That bitch Cecilia! I'll make you pay!"
Making him look like a fool!
Dominic was so pissed he wanted to kill Cecilia!
"Andrew stealing the Lockhart Group's trade secrets for the Kingsley Group is a fact. Don't waste your time trying to defend the Kingsley family! You better think about whether this will directly threaten you, whether Andrew or even Eloise will drag you down! And whether the project will take a hit?" The person on the other end was ice cold, "Dominic, if you keep screwing up, I'm done with you! Take care of your mess!"
With that, the person was about to hang up.
Dominic's face was dark as night, and he said, "I won't get dragged into this. Even though Cecilia set me up again, I didn't leave any loose ends. Eloise handled all the Kingsley family plans; I stayed out of it..."
"You stayed out of it, but that doesn't mean Eloise didn't stash some dirt on you!" The other person shot back.
"Relax, Eloise is sharp, but she trusts me completely and wouldn't have kept anything against me," Dominic said confidently.
"But what if Cecilia tipped Eloise off?" The other person countered.
Dominic's hand holding the phone was shaking.
Could Cecilia be that clever?
He didn't want to believe it.
"Of course, there's a chance Cecilia's playing it safe and not making any sudden moves," the person said.
Dominic quickly agreed, "Yeah, with Eloise's loyalty to me, if Cecilia had approached her, she would've told me. The perks I give Eloise are beyond her wildest dreams. If I go down, what good does it do her? She's definitely one hundred percent loyal to me."
"I'm just giving you a heads-up. If you're confident, fine. You've let me down big time, but I've invested too much in you. If Cecilia takes you down, all my efforts go up in smoke!" The person on the other end said, still ticked off.
Dominic knew he was constantly letting the other person down.
If it weren't for their reluctance to ditch their investment in him, he'd be toast!
He gritted his teeth and said, "I could take out Eloise!"
To cover his tracks and be absolutely sure, he might have to deal with Eloise.
Right now, he was heading to the Kingsley Group under the pretense of checking on the project, but really, he was going to see Eloise.
"If you're sure Eloise has no dirt on you, there's no need to kill her. Offing her might dig your own grave. Dominic, think about it. What does Cecilia want to see the most right now?"
Dominic gripped the steering wheel tightly. "She wants to see you screw up. Every move Andrew made was under her watch. Do you think your actions aren't being watched? Have you thought that Cecilia might be waiting for you to go after Eloise?"
Dominic felt a chill run down his spine.
With that reminder, he almost walked right into Cecilia's trap!
"So you should test Eloise and leave evidence that you're not involved. Think twice before doing anything stupid!"
"Got it," Dominic said respectfully.
Thank God for the reminder.
Otherwise, he might've fallen into Cecilia's trap again.
Dominic reported, "I specifically reviewed the contract for the Innovation Arc project. Considering the possibility of Cecilia's retaliation, I made sure that even if we stole the project, the planning department wouldn't cut us off. In other words, Cecilia can't take this project away from us!"
