Chapter 96 Juliana Was Harshly Humiliated
A sudden voice disrupted the rhythm of the scene.
Juliana's steps noticeably faltered, and caught off guard, she accidentally twisted her heel.
Jessica, standing nearby, quickly supported her. "Ms. Lockhart, be careful."
Jessica was cautious, even ingratiating, toward Juliana.
Juliana turned her head, and the moment she saw Cecilia, her face changed.
In the Lockhart family, she always appeared delicate and fragile, just to highlight her vulnerability in front of strong people and gain sympathy. However, in the workplace, she knew that what was needed were tactics and ruthlessness, a high and mighty attitude, and the respect of everyone. So she had to show her true self, and she had to admit, the flattery she received made her feel incredibly proud.
She had long wanted to enter the workplace and gain everything she desired in such a place!
But why was Cecilia here now?!
How should she face Cecilia now?!
If she continued to act haughty, it would be a slap in her own face, as she had always been weak and powerless in front of Cecilia.
However, if she reverted to her Lockhart family demeanor, the aura she had just displayed would be self-humiliating, and she didn't know what kind of joke she would become in the eyes of these employees.
Cecilia saw Juliana's panic and thought, 'if you're afraid of being exposed, why put on two faces?'
Cecilia was about to speak.
Jessica, who was supporting Juliana, spoke with obvious displeasure, "Aren't you looking for the director? The director's office is further inside, and the director hasn't arrived yet. You should wait in his office for a while."
"I'm not looking for the director; I'm the new sales director," Cecilia said bluntly.
"The new director?" Jessica was stunned.
At that moment, she seemed to remember that they received a notice yesterday saying the former director had been transferred to another branch as the general manager, and a new director would arrive today. But they also received news that Ms. Lockhart would be coming to work today, not Ms. Isadora Lockhart, but her sister Juliana to take her place. Everyone knew Isadora was from the Lockhart family and was untouchable in the sales department. Anyone who offended her would face consequences, even the director had to listen to her. Now, although it was her sister coming, the employees didn't dare to slack off and focused all their energy on welcoming the new manager, completely forgetting about the new director.
The key point was, the young woman in front of them didn't look like someone who would be a director. Directors were usually in their 30s or 40s!
However, even knowing Cecilia was the director, Jessica wasn't afraid. She thought, as long as Juliana had her back, she didn't fear any director.
She quickly said, "So you're the director. Let me introduce you to our Ms. Lockhart. Ms. Lockhart from the Lockhart family."
She deliberately emphasized the Lockhart family.
It was a reminder to Cecilia not to mess with Juliana, as she couldn't afford to.
Cecilia chuckled lightly.
She didn't seem to mind, but Juliana's face changed.
At that moment, Juliana finally realized.
If she didn't, she wouldn't know what these people would do next.
She couldn't afford to offend Cecilia now.
Juliana quickly stepped forward and grabbed Cecilia's hand, "Cecilia, you're here at the company too."
Cecilia?!
All the employees on the scene were stunned.
Jessica, the secretary, was especially stiff, looking at Cecilia and then at Juliana, who was clearly trying to please.
As a secretary, she knew more about the internal workings of the Lockhart Group.
Isadora was the niece of Theodore, the chairman of the Lockhart Group, and the daughter of Vincent, the vice president. Juliana was Isadora's younger sister, naturally Vincent's daughter, and now Juliana called this woman Cecilia.
The Lockhart family only had two brothers, the chairman and the vice president, so this woman must be the chairman's daughter, Cecilia.
Thinking of this, Jessica felt like she was going to faint.
She didn't expect the new director to have such a big background.
Wasn't it said that the chairman's daughter had no interest in working and only wanted to be a good wife and mother, never coming to the company to help her father?
Didn't she just get married?! Shouldn't she be on her honeymoon after getting married?
For a young lady with no interest in work, how could she start working just a few days after her wedding?!
Jessica couldn't figure it out, but she was facing it now.
Jessica felt so embarrassed.
Cecilia didn't focus on Jessica.
She looked at Juliana and said casually, "I didn't expect the Lockhart Group's employees to be so efficient. My dad agreed to let you come to the company yesterday, and now your office is ready, even sprayed with perfume. The perfume smells nice."
The employee who sprayed the perfume suddenly felt a tightness in their chest and instinctively lowered their head, looking completely ashamed.
"Now that Juliana's office is ready, can you help tidy up my office a bit?" Cecilia raised an eyebrow, exuding an aura of authority.
"I'll tidy it up right away," Jessica said ingratiatingly.
Cecilia directly refused, "No need, let the cleaning staff do it. In ten minutes, gather all employees above the supervisor level in the sales department for a meeting in the conference room."
"Yes," Jessica replied respectfully.
Cecilia turned to Juliana, "You too."
"Yes," Juliana quickly agreed.
"Where's the conference room?" Cecilia asked.
"I'll take you there," Jessica said eagerly.
"You take me," Cecilia pointed to a random employee, not giving Jessica a chance to curry favor.
Jessica felt extremely awkward.
The employee Cecilia pointed to quickly stepped forward, "Mrs. Whitaker, this way please."
Cecilia left, and as she was leaving, she turned back and reminded, "I'm allergic to perfume."
She meant not to spray it in the office.
That remark clearly stung Juliana.
Cecilia left with a commanding presence.
After she left, Juliana furiously scolded Jessica, "Are you useless?! You didn't know my cousin was coming to the company? Are you trying to embarrass me on purpose?!"
"No, Ms. Juliana Lockhart, I really didn't know she was coming as the director. I really didn't know. I only received a message saying a new director was coming, without any special instructions. And when I received the notice from the secretary's office, they only told me to welcome you well. No one specifically told me about her..."
"Shut up!" Juliana didn't want to hear any more.
She only knew that on her first day at work, Cecilia had humiliated her, and she was utterly embarrassed!
