Chapter 95 Treated Coldly by Employees
The Lockhart Group had a long history.
The Lockhart family first made their fortune from a pawnshop a century ago. Through the pawnshop, they built connections and accumulated many resources. Later, after amassing a certain amount of wealth, the ancestors of the Lockhart family began to expand into other industries. They ran restaurants, hotels, transportation, and education, eventually choosing real estate, with their ventures spanning the entire Yakurosean Empire.
It can be said that almost all the notable buildings in the Yakurosean Empire, including malls, residences, hotels, and landmarks, are the work of the Lockhart Group.
Cecilia walked into the elevator and pressed the floor button.
Theodore had arranged a position for her as the Director of Marketing, primarily responsible for planning the sales of the Lockhart Group's projects.
The reason for this arrangement was twofold. First, because Isadora had previously been the Marketing Manager here, and the manager's direct superior was the Sales Director. The previous Sales Director had been reassigned by Theodore to be the General Manager of another branch. Second, as a company, the most important aspect was the sales force. The core technology and expertise of a company were just its internal capabilities. Developing according to market demand was straightforward, but the real place to hone skills was in marketing.
Marketing allowed one to understand the market quickly, grasp the market economy swiftly, and know what kind of talent the business market truly needed!
No wonder Theodore was so excited to agree when Cecilia said she wanted to join the company and be Juliana's direct superior.
It was exactly in line with the career path Theodore had planned for Cecilia.
The elevator arrived, and Cecilia walked into the sales department.
A large office greeted her.
It was still early, but all the employees were already seated at their desks, computers on, starting their work.
Cecilia walked to the sales department's front desk and politely asked, "Excuse me, where is the Director's office?"
"Are you looking for the Director?" the receptionist, Jessica Martinez, asked, somewhat nonchalantly.
"No, I am..."
The shared phone on the employee's desk suddenly rang.
Jessica answered it immediately, her voice becoming pleasant. "Hello, Sales Department."
"Jessica, Ms. Lockhart is on her way up now. Make sure you're ready to welcome her," the voice on the other end was stern.
"Got it, I'll head to the elevator to greet her. What color is Ms. Lockhart wearing today?" Jessica asked.
"A white shirt, black pencil skirt, and a khaki trench coat."
"Okay."
Jessica hung up and seemed to notice Cecilia again, speaking dismissively, "Sorry, I have a reception task today. If you're looking for the Director, turn right and go straight to the end. You'll see two offices, and the door will say 'Director's Office.'"
Without another glance at Cecilia, she hurried off.
Cecilia smiled faintly and said nothing, following Jessica's directions.
It was easy to imagine how high Isadora's status in the company had been, with the Sales Director not even matching the status of a Marketing Manager.
Cecilia stopped at the Director's office and pushed the door open.
Her eyes narrowed sharply.
The office was a mess.
The previous Director must have left in a hurry, packing up their things overnight, and the cleaning staff hadn't had time to tidy up this morning.
Cecilia thought for a moment, then stepped out of the office and saw a cleaner passing by. She quickly called out, "Excuse me, could you please clean this office?"
the cleaner refused directly. "I haven't even finished the room next door. If you want it clean, either do it yourself or wait until I'm done here."
With that, she hurried off.
Cecilia's expression changed slightly.
She walked to the next room.
The door read "Marketing Manager."
So, it was Juliana's office.
Theodore had arranged for her and Juliana to start on the same day.
And the sales department had obviously chosen to prepare for Juliana first.
Juliana's office was bustling with people, clean and tidy, with even fresh flowers on the desk. It was clearly meticulously arranged.
Soon, a woman's anxious voice was heard, passing by Cecilia, "Is everything ready? Ms. Lockhart is almost here, meeting the staff now."
"Ready," the person in charge replied quickly, "Everything is set."
"Then get to the door to greet her. Stand on either side and salute when she arrives."
"Yes."
As the woman was about to leave, she suddenly rushed back into Juliana's office.
Cecilia watched as she took a bottle of perfume from her clothes, sprayed it hurriedly, and then quickly left.
Cecilia quietly left as well, moving to the side.
Outside the office, the staff lined up to greet couldn't help but whisper, "I wonder if this Ms. Lockhart is any different from the previous Ms. Lockhart?"
"What's the difference? They're both from the Lockhart family, untouchable. Be smart and don't make any mistakes. If you mess up, no one can save you. Even the Director has to give Ms. Lockhart some respect, got it?"
"Yes," the employees responded quickly, looking extremely nervous.
Everyone seemed to be in their best state of mind.
From a distance, a group of people approached.
Juliana walked in front, accompanied by the secretary Jessica who had ignored Cecilia earlier, followed by many other employees.
They looked imposing.
Cecilia stood aside, observing Juliana.
If she hadn't seen Juliana's submissive behavior in the Lockhart family, she wouldn't have imagined that this woman in a professional suit, looking so proud and haughty, was the same Juliana.
Cecilia remembered the previous life when Juliana had successfully climbed into Dominic's bed and arrogantly called her cheap, saying she was not only useless but also lowered Dominic's status.
Now, thinking back, Cecilia realized that as a housewife who had devoted all her attention to Dominic, she had indeed been incredibly cheap.
"Nice to meet you, Ms. Lockhart!" a loud, unified voice suddenly rang out.
The employees greeted Juliana, showing utmost respect.
Juliana was not intimidated by the scene, even showing a hint of arrogance.
At just 22 years old, fresh out of college, facing a new environment and unfamiliar people with such calmness and ease, Juliana's shrewdness and capability were indeed extraordinary.
Juliana nodded slightly to everyone.
At that moment, she displayed a sense of superiority different from others, deliberately distancing herself from the employees.
As she walked through the aisle of employees with a high and mighty demeanor, ready to pass through.
"Juliana."
Suddenly, a calm voice came from a less noticeable spot.
