Chapter 470 The Game (15) Lyra of the Monroe Family

Nathaniel from the Kingsley Group getting busted for loan fraud was all over the news.

For a hot minute, it was all anyone could talk about.

Bad news kept piling up for the Kingsley Group, and their stock tanked for days. If this kept up, they'd be toast and go belly up.

Bill caught wind of the Kingsley Group's mess and started leaning on them hard to fix it, or he'd pull the plug on their deal.

Dominic was losing it with all this chaos.

Penelope? She was no help, just throwing fits left and right.

Nathaniel was still locked up, and they couldn't get bail.

Dominic was feeling the heat big time.

Then, he got a call from someone in the Monroe Family.

"Dominic, what the hell are you doing? You told me the e-commerce project was solid and we'd make bank, but now you're mixed up in shady stuff! Do you want me to cut you off completely?" The caller was fuming.

"I'm on it. I'll sort it out!" Dominic said.

"Sort it out, how?" The caller snapped, "Tell me, did the Kingsley Group use fake property certificates to get loans?"

"I got played by that sneaky Sebastian!" Dominic said.

"So it's true?" The caller's anger hit the roof. "Dominic, are you that dumb? How could you fall for this? Are you out of your mind?"

"I was also..." Dominic stammered, lost for words.

"How could you be so gullible? You really let me down!" The caller wasn't having any of Dominic's excuses, "I'm done. Fix it yourself. If you can't, go down with the Kingsley Group. And don't come to me again!!" The caller slammed the phone down.

Dominic was shaking as he held the phone.

Without the Monroe Family's help, Dominic was in deep trouble.

He couldn't afford to fail.

Dominic quickly dialed another number.

The call went through.

His voice turned super soft, "Lyra."

"Dominic." Lyra's voice was icy, "I heard you're in some deep trouble."

"I didn't want you to worry, so I called you separately," Dominic said.

"Is everything okay?" Lyra asked.

"Nothing major, I got this. " Dominic's voice got even softer, "But I miss you."

"Seriously? With all this going on, you're thinking about me? Shouldn't you be fixing the Kingsley Group's mess?" Lyra shot back.

"Don't stress, I got the Kingsley Group under control. But it's been a week since we met, don't you miss me? We had such a great vibe," Dominic said sweetly.

"Dominic," Lyra said, a bit flustered.

She was blushing from Dominic's sudden charm.

But she couldn't hide her happiness.

"I'll come see you tonight," Dominic said straight up.

"I'm in Astralton City," Lyra reminded.

"I'll catch a flight after work," Dominic said.

"Isn't that a hassle?" Lyra grumbled, though she was secretly thrilled.

"Just thinking about seeing you makes it worth it. I'd come even if it were risky."

"You smooth talker," Lyra giggled.

"Wait for me tonight."

"Don't be impulsive," Lyra warned.

Dominic's face tightened a bit.

Right now, Lyra was his only shot at fixing this mess, and he didn't expect her to play it so cool.

Back when he was worried about losing the Monroe Family's support, he did everything to win over Lyra. Tomas Monroe, the head honcho, adored her. As long as he kept Lyra happy, he wouldn't get the boot from the Monroe Family.

So, he pulled out all the stops to get Lyra into bed.

He might suck at dealing with most people, but he had a knack for charming women.

Lyra's guard dropped around him, and she fell head over heels.

He never thought that at this crucial moment, Lyra wouldn't fall for his tricks.

As Dominic was scheming his next move, Lyra said, "I'll come to Serenovia City to see you tonight. I've never been there."

Dominic's mood flipped instantly.

"Lyra, are you really coming to see me?" he asked, excited.

"Don't you want me to?" Lyra teased.

"I'd be over the moon. What time's your flight? I'll pick you up at the airport. Lyra, I really miss you," Dominic said.

"You're such a cheeseball," Lyra said, blushing. "I'll text you once I know the time."

"Okay." Dominic nodded eagerly. "Lyra, don't tell Tomas you're coming to see me. I'm worried he'll object, and I won't get to see you today. You don't know how much I miss you. If I don't see you, I'll go nuts."

"He's busy all the time; he doesn't care about me." Lyra didn't catch on to Dominic's shady intentions. "I'll text you later."

"Okay, I'll be waiting."

After hanging up, Dominic's expression turned cold.

He had no other choice.

He picked up the phone and ordered, "Get some reporters to tail me tonight and leak a scandal."

This way, for the sake of Lyra and the Monroe family's reputation, they wouldn't dare ditch him!

Good thing he was always one step ahead!

Thanks to Dashiell's tip, Cecilia saw the news first thing in the morning.

#Dominic secretly meets a mysterious woman, sparking romance rumors!#

The news said Dominic picked up a young woman at the airport last night and took her straight to his private apartment. They didn't come out all night, and the next morning, Dominic left alone while the woman stayed in his apartment. It was suspected that Dominic's new fling was exposed.

Cecilia squinted at the blurry figures in the news.

One was Dominic, and the other was a woman in a black trench coat with long hair and a mask. Even with the disguise, Cecilia recognized her instantly as Lyra, the woman she despised!

This so-called love of Dominic's, Cecilia didn't expect to see her so soon.

Cecilia smirked coldly.

The sooner she showed up, the faster Ceciliashe could take care of her.

Cecilia would make her pay, with interest!
