Chapter 427 Celebrating Cassius's Bachelor Party

Cecilia and Alaric rolled up to the nightclub pretty quick.

They strolled into their VIP room, the one Cassius kept locked down for his own fun.

The vibe inside was totally different.

Cecilia was blown away by how soundproof it was.

The doors were like Fort Knox, kinda overkill.

She trailed behind Alaric and plopped down on the cushy sofa.

Cassius was a no-show.

The dude who was all hyped up earlier was now MIA.

Maybe Hugo had him on lockdown?

Alaric grabbed his phone to hit up Cassius.

If Hugo was really keeping him in, Alaric figured he'd have to call Hugo and make him understand. For Cassius, this was the end of his bachelor days, and it was going to be a painful goodbye.

The call went through, and Cassius answered, "You there?"

"Yeah, where you at?" Alaric asked.

"Picking up Dashiell," Cassius said, no BS.

Alaric frowned a bit.

He glanced at Cecilia, who shot him a look back.

"What's up?" Cassius asked.

With their tight bond, of course, he had to bring Dashiell. Was that a problem?

"Nothing, we're in the private room waiting," Alaric said.

"Five minutes," Cassius replied.

Alaric hung up.

Cecilia turned to Alaric, "Is someone else coming besides Cassius?"

"Yeah," Alaric nodded.

"Is it a problem for me to be here?" Cecilia asked, cool as a cucumber.

She knew Alaric had a ton of secrets from the get-go, but she was chill with it.

"Nope," Alaric said straight up. "You know him, pretty well actually."

"You're talking about Dashiell," Cecilia guessed right away.

Alaric nodded.

He couldn't help but be impressed by her smarts.

Cecilia was sharp. Why did she play dumb when she was with Dominic?

"Dashiell's your cousin, right?" Cecilia said, no filter.

Alaric's eyes flickered with surprise.

"Dashiell told me," Cecilia laughed, looking all smug. "You and Dashiell are tight, and Dashiell and I go way back. We've got secrets you don't even know about."

Alaric chuckled, "I'm not worried about it."

Was he not worried they'd hook up, or that Dashiell would never rat him out?

But yeah, Dashiell was super careful.

Even if he spilled about his connection with Alaric, she still couldn't figure out Alaric's real deal.

In less than five minutes, Cassius strutted in with Dashiell.

Cassius was all swagger, high on life.

And Dashiell...

Cecilia and Alaric both turned to look.

Dashiell walked in with a cane, ditching the wheelchair.

He didn't let Cassius help him at all. Even though he had a limp, he still looked solid.

"Is your leg better?" Cecilia couldn't help but ask.

"My right leg's good. Left one's in rehab, got some feeling back. Doc says 3-6 months to fully recover," Dashiell replied.

Cecilia wondered if Dashiell bounced back this fast in her past life too.

Thinking back, yeah, seemed like it.

So when Dashiell used this move to marry Seraphina back then, she didn't stop it ahead of time.

First off, it let Dashiell and Seraphina be together, and she could step in if things went south later.

Second, Dashiell's legs would heal up eventually, so no big mental load there.

"Grab a seat," Cassius said, pouring out the drinks. "Tonight, we're drinking till we drop."

"I'm on a baby-making plan," Alaric shot back.

Cassius's face fell, "Why? Isn't it better to party a few more years? Look at me, became a dad outta nowhere, and I regret it big time."

"You'll see how awesome it is later," Cecilia chimed in.

"No way," Cassius said, dead serious.

Cecilia chuckled to herself, thinking, 'Just wait till Lily has you wrapped around her little finger.'

"I'll drink with you," Dashiell said. "I can't drink much, but I can have a few."

"I'm sticking to water," Alaric stayed firm. "However much you drink, I'll match it with water."

Cassius shot Alaric a dirty look but caved, "Not a drop less."

"Deal," Alaric agreed right away.

Cassius raised his glass, Alaric lifted his water bottle, Dashiell raised his glass, and Cecilia had her own water bottle. They clinked glasses.

"Take it easy," Alaric whispered in Cecilia's ear.

Honestly, she felt like she could have a drink with Cassius.

It wasn't that she felt sorry for him marrying Lily, but she genuinely wanted to offer her blessings.

Seeing Alaric so set on it, Cecilia didn't push it.

The private room was missing music and had bright lights, not your typical nightclub vibe.

Cecilia figured it was just a hangout spot.

"Dashiell, how's it going with Seraphina?" Cassius asked after a sip.

Dashiell smirked a bit, "You can tell it's not great since I'm here drinking with you."

"I thought you were here out of pity," Cassius said.

"I think getting hitched early isn't a bad thing," Dashiell said straight up.

"What? Just thinking about it makes me wanna die!" Cassius shot back.

"Getting married early means stability and keeps you from catching STDs," Dashiell chuckled.

"Dashiell!" Cassius snapped. "You're the one who'll get an STD! I take all the precautions."

"Accidents happen," Dashiell said.

"Are you jinxing me?" Cassius asked.

Dashiell laughed, "Not at all."

Then he clinked glasses with Cassius again.

Cecilia just watched Dashiell, taking in his banter with Cassius.

She used to think Dashiell wasn't much of a talker.

Who knew he could be so sharp-tongued?

This must be the real him!

For Seraphina, he'd changed so much he wasn't himself anymore!

"Even though I trust Dashiell, it doesn't mean I want you staring at him like that," Alaric's voice whispered in her ear.

At the same time, a big hand blocked her view.

Cecilia pouted.

Alaric was being so possessive and childish.

She turned to look at him.

Alaric said, "Just look at me, I'm so handsome."

Cecilia rolled her eyes. "Can't you be a little modest?"

"I'm just being honest." Alaric grinned, looking annoyingly handsome.

Cecilia was caught off guard for a second, just staring at him without looking away.

"Can you two stop flaunting your love in front of us?" Cassius yelled. "Tonight's my night, can you think about my feelings?"
