Chapter 41 Does She Really Understand Alaric?
"Ms. Lockhart, are you planning to leave in my pajamas?" Alaric asked her with a smirk.
It was only then that Cecilia realized her current attire.
She questioned, "Where are my clothes?"
"I threw them away."
"Alaric!"
"You vomited on them. Are you sure you still want them?" Alaric questioned.
Damn!
Since they were thrown away, she could only leave in his clothes if she didn't want to walk around naked!
Alaric drove her crazy.
She tried to stay calm. "I'll have someone bring you some new clothes tomorrow."
Apparently, she intended to leave in his clothes and got him some new pajamas.
"You don’t have to," Alaric smiled, "I have prepared clothes for you."
“Why didn't you tell me earlier?”
"They are in the walk-in closet to the right of the room you slept in."
Cecilia quickly went upstairs.
In the walk-in closet, Cecilia picked out the clothes Alaric had prepared for her.
Alaric had a good taste.
Although for Cecilia, the designs from ten years ago were somewhat outdated, but the khaki jacket, white T-shirt, and tight cropped jeans were truly classics of all time.
What surprised Cecilia the most was the precision of the bra and pantie sizes.
That jerk Alaric must have...
'Don't mind it.' Cecilia thought.
What else could she do? Watching him naked too in return?
After changing into the clothes, she went downstairs.
Alaric was sitting on the couch, watching TV at the moment.
Seeing Cecilia's hurried steps, he casually asked, "Does it fit?"
"Can't you see?" Despite telling herself not to get angry, she just couldn't help but lose her cool.
"I can't see," Alaric said.
He glanced deliberately towards her chest.
Cecilia quickly buttoned up her jacket.
Not wanting to deal with Alaric for any longer, she ran out of the villa.
As soon as she stepped out of the villa, she saw an expensive black car parked there. A man in a black suit and white gloves were standing next to it.
"Ms. Lockhart, hello, I'm Augustus Harrington, Mr. Whitaker's driver. Mr. Whitaker asked me to send you back," the man spoke respectfully.
Cecilia was somewhat moved.
Alaric always took care of her after infuriating her.
Th jerk was a bit charming.
Cecilia smiled faintly, "Thank you."
"Ms. Lockhart, please have a seat." Augustus opened the back door of the car for Cecilia.
Once Cecilia was seated, Augustus returned to the driver's seat and slowly drove away.
As they drove off, Cecilia couldn't help but glance back at the villa.
It seemed that Alaric was living in the luxurious building alone.
In the previous life, although Cecilia had been enemies with Alaric, she didn’t understand him very well. She knew about his abilities, but not his personal affairs, so she didn't know if Alaric lived with the Whitaker family.
Cecilia pondered, feeling that Alaric was hiding a lot of information about himself.
She knew too little about him in the previous life.
Her eyes flickered as she casually spoke, "Sir."
"Yes, Ms. Lockhart," Augustus respectfully replied.
"Is Alaric not getting along with his family?" Cecilia asked.
Otherwise, why would he move out to live alone?
"I'm just a driver, I don’t know much about his personal matters," Augustus replied smartly.
Cecilia nodded and didn't ask further.
After all, from Augustus's response, she knew she wouldn't get any answers.
She turned her head and looked out the window.
Serenovia City, the most economically powerful city in the Yakurosean Empire, was vibrant and impressive.
Ten years ago, it was already a city of many skyscrapers and bustling streets.
Cecilia silently watched, reminiscing about this city she missed.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
Cecilia looked at the caller ID and answered the call.
"Dominic."
"Cecilia, why was your phone off?" Dominic sounded anxious.
Cecilia sneered.
Her mind was filled with images of Dominic passionately making love to Isadora last night.
"I was drunk, and my phone died."
"Where were you go last night? I didn't see you when I left?" Dominic inquired.
He was questioning her.
"I was at Seraphina's house."
"Didn’t Seraphina leave after you?" Dominic doubted.
Dominic wasn't stupid. He paid attention to many details, especially those that benefited him.
Fortunately, Cecilia knew all about Dominic, so she could easily answer, "I also left later. I went to the restroom halfway through and ended up falling asleep there. When I woke up, only Seraphina and Sebastian were still in the private room, so I went with Seraphina to her house. Dominic, why didn't you call me when you left last night?"
He fell silent for a second, then hurriedly explained, "I was also drunk last night, someone sent me home in a daze, I called you right after I woke up."
"Oh really?"
"Sure, I was so worried about you."
"I'm fine now. I'm on my way home."
"We can't drink so much next time."
"Okay," Cecilia agreed.
She thought, 'From now on, you no longer have the privilege to drink with me.'
"After you get home, take some rest. I have to go to work at the company later."
"Okay." Cecilia casually responded, intending to hang up.
She really didn't want to pretend with Dominic for even a second.
It made her sick.
"Cecilia." Dominic suddenly called out with deep affection.
"Yes?" Cecilia was already impatient.
"I love you," Dominic said each word with emphasis.
Cecilia laughed.
There was a strong sense of irony in her laughter.
In her previous life, Dominic often said sweet words to her.
She wondered what Dominic was thinking each time he said those words.
He was probably thinking that she was stupid.
She composed herself and responded, "I love you too."
"I really want to marry you right away," Dominic said affectionately, "Once I finish the thing at hand, I’ll prepare for our wedding. Cecilia, I promise, I will make you the most beautiful and happiest bride in the Yakurosean Empire! All the women in the world will envy you!"
After hearing this, Cecilia thought, 'Envy me for marrying the dirtiest, vilest, and most despicable man in the world?'
She was angry.
In her previous life, her most foolish decision was to marry Dominic.
She wouldn't make the same mistake again!
She was there to revenge.
