Chapter 105 Juliana Gets Slapped
Vincent probably never thought in his lifetime that he would end up losing more than he gained.
Not only did he fail to embarrass Cecilia, but he also jeopardized the future of his two children.
His expression was extremely grim.
"Andrew, Cecilia, and Juliana's job assignments are now decided. Tom," Theodore said with authority.
"Yes, sir," Theodore's secretary, Tom Simmons, responded.
Theodore instructed, "Record it. We will review it in three months and six months. Execute strictly according to today's meeting content."
"Understood," Tom replied respectfully.
After Theodore finished his arrangements, he looked at all the senior leaders present, "If there's nothing else, Cecilia can leave now."
No one spoke.
Theodore gave Cecilia a look.
Cecilia nodded and respectfully said to everyone, "I'll be leaving now, see you tomorrow."
With that, she left the meeting room.
After leaving, a faint smile appeared on Cecilia's lips.
Andrew and Juliana probably never expected such a sudden misfortune, did they?!
She wasn't afraid at all.
After all, she had lived another life and knew the market trends and future directions inside out.
As for Andrew and Juliana, if they wanted to achieve something, it would be a pipe dream.
Cecilia returned to her office.
She had just sat down.
Juliana knocked and entered.
Juliana was all smiles at the moment, probably unaware of what had happened.
Maybe Juliana had heard that she was called to the senior meeting room and thought she must have been embarrassed, so she came to gloat.
Cecilia remained calm.
Juliana said in a sweet voice, "Cecilia, I have prepared the resumes for our department as you asked."
With that, she placed a thick stack of resumes in front of Cecilia.
Cecilia glanced at her and said, "Call me Mrs. Whitaker."
Juliana's smile visibly stiffened.
The next moment, she obediently nodded. "Yes, Mrs. Whitaker."
"I have nothing else. You can go back to work."
"Okay." Juliana nodded.
"By the way," Cecilia called out to Juliana, "from now on, our goals will be aligned."
Juliana was visibly surprised.
Cecilia smiled. "Your dad will tell you soon. You can go now."
Juliana was a bit puzzled, returning to her office.
Then she immediately received a call from Vincent and quickly answered, "Dad."
"I need to inform you of a company decision. Just follow it." Vincent's tone was clearly unpleasant.
Juliana keenly sensed something was off and quickly replied obediently, "I'll do whatever you say."
Vincent coldly relayed the decisions made in the meeting to Juliana.
After hearing it, Juliana was shocked and incredulous, "Dad, why do I have to take the same gamble as Cecilia? And I have to be tied to her? If she fails, won't I suffer too?"
Vincent replied angrily, "Don't ask any more questions. Just do as I say!"
Juliana knew Vincent was in a bad mood and didn't dare to ask more, quickly agreeing, "Okay."
Vincent finished and hung up.
Juliana held her phone, her expression changed.
Wasn't Vincent supposed to make things difficult for Cecilia? Wasn't he supposed to get revenge for her? How did it end up with her getting dragged into this mess instead of gaining any advantage?
The more Juliana thought about it, the angrier she got. Suddenly, her door was pushed open.
Juliana's face darkened, ready to lash out, but then she saw it was Andrew who entered and closed the door behind him.
Juliana forced a smile to face Andrew.
Andrew slapped Juliana hard across the face.
Juliana was stunned.
Her eyes reddened, and she covered her face, feeling extremely wronged. "Andrew, what did I do wrong?"
"Shut up! You idiot, bringing you back to the Lockhart family was to help, not to sabotage me! If it weren't for you saying Cecilia was targeting you, Dad wouldn't have embarrassed Cecilia in front of so many senior leaders! If he hadn't done that, Cecilia and Uncle Theodore wouldn't have had anything on us, and my future wouldn't be ruined! What the hell are you, dragging me down with you? You're just a bastard child born to a whore!" Andrew's anger grew as he spoke.
Juliana felt utterly humiliated.
Tears streamed down her face, but she knew she couldn't fight back.
However, deep inside, she wished she could kill Andrew for treating her like this.
"If I catch you pulling any more stunts, I'll kill you!" Andrew threatened harshly.
He didn't care about Juliana's distress and turned to leave.
If it weren't for Vincent, he would have killed this bitch long ago!
Juliana gritted her teeth, watching Andrew's departing figure.
The pitiful look on her face turned venomous.
One day, she would make the entire Lockhart family bow at her feet, wishing they were dead!
Andrew stormed out.
He needed to vent his anger.
The thought of being reassigned and having to undergo some test made him want to strangle Juliana!
He paused and saw Cecilia coming out of her office.
His barely contained rage flared up even more at the sight of Cecilia.
Cecilia, on the other hand, smiled calmly, "Andrew, I heard you got reassigned."
"Don't get too cocky," Andrew said harshly, stepping in front of Cecilia, "Women like you who don't know their place never end well."
Cecilia retorted, "I could say the same to you."
Andrew's face darkened.
Cecilia added, "Without self-awareness, there's no good ending for you."
"What did you say?!" Andrew gritted his teeth.
"You heard me." Cecilia met Andrew's gaze without a hint of fear.
Cecilia remembered how Andrew used to bully her.
Andrew was older and stronger. When no adults were around, he would hit and intimidate her.
Once, she couldn't take it anymore and told on him.
Her grandmother didn't even ask what happened, scolded her for being disrespectful and tattling.
After that, she never dared to tell on him again and developed a fear of Andrew.
For a long time, she avoided being in Andrew's sight, let alone confronting him like now.
Andrew noticed the change in Cecilia.
He had bullied her since they were kids, hitting her, spitting on her, and she always avoided him, never daring to look him in the eye. Now, her defiance made him uneasy.
He felt that the Cecilia in front of him was no longer easy to bully!
