Chapter 92 Alaric, Don't Be Too Nice to Me

Cecilia looked up at Alaric.

The child in the photo was clearly a young Alaric, dressed in a black suit, exuding the elegance of a wealthy young master. And in the photo, Cecilia was wearing a pink princess dress, with tears on her little face.

Cecilia had no memory of when this photo was taken.

Alaric looked so handsome in the photo, yet she had no recollection of him at all.

Cecilia thought, indeed, she had focused all her attention on Dominic when she was young and felt she had missed out on a lot.

"At the Whitaker family. It was my dad's birthday, and your family came to our house for the party. You got lost, and I brought you back," Alaric explained.

Cecilia didn't expect Alaric to remember so clearly.

"Yes," Genevieve suddenly seemed to recall and quickly said, "Cecilia was only 5 years old then, her first time at your house. Your house was so big, and while her dad and I were socializing, we didn't notice that Cecilia was attracted by a little dog and wandered off. I was so worried, and then I saw you bringing Cecilia back. Your family photographer happened to be there and thought you two kids were adorable, so he took the picture. Later, your mom gave me the photo and even praised Cecilia for being so well-behaved even when she cried."

With that, Cecilia seemed to have a vague memory.

She vaguely remembered being in a large, unfamiliar place and couldn't find her parents, so she cried.

As she cried, she saw a little boy. She remembered that she ran to him and asked him to help her find her parents.

She vaguely remembered that the little boy wasn't very approachable. Even though she was crying so hard, he didn't seem very sympathetic. He just asked her calmly, "If I help you find your parents, how will you repay me?"

Young Cecilia, with tear-filled eyes, looked at him.

"Will you marry me when you grow up?"

"Okay," Cecilia agreed without hesitation.

At that time, she would have agreed to anything.

Besides, she didn't even understand what "marry" meant.

Later, the little boy held her hand and took her back to the hall to find her parents.

To Cecilia, it was just a small episode. After finding her mom, she didn't think much of it.

She didn't know why she suddenly remembered that scene so clearly now.

She couldn't help but look up at Alaric.

Alaric seemed to smile and asked, "Do you remember now?"

"No," Cecilia pretended to know nothing.

She definitely didn't remember agreeing to marry him.

Alaric didn't expose her lie. He and Genevieve continued flipping through the photos.

The atmosphere at home was very good.

Cecilia always thought Alaric wasn't good at interacting with elders. After all, he seemed like the kind of person who thought highly of himself. But to her surprise, he got along very naturally with her parents, much better than Dominic, who was a hypocrite.

Alaric and Cecilia left the Lockhart family after dinner.

The two sat in the car.

Cecilia rested her chin on her hand, silently looking out the window, lost in thought.

Alaric leaned back in the car seat, his eyes occasionally glancing at the back of Cecilia's head.

In the quiet space.

"Alaric, are you this nice to everyone?" Cecilia suddenly asked.

She didn't turn around, just spoke to the window.

Alaric's eyes moved slightly, and he said, "Are you jealous?"

"No." Cecilia shook her head. "It's just unbelievable. I always thought you weren't a considerate person, but you do many things I wouldn't expect. Like telling my parents in advance that we'd be coming back a day later."

"Yes," Alaric responded.

"And having Anna bring so many gifts in advance, that was your idea too, right?" Cecilia asked.

Alaric responded again.

Cecilia took a deep breath and suddenly turned to face Alaric.

Alaric had a smile on his lips.

"Don't be too nice to me," Cecilia said seriously.

"Are you afraid of falling in love with me?" Alaric raised an eyebrow.

"No." Cecilia shook her head. "I'm afraid of hurting your pride."

After all, in this lifetime, it would be hard for her to love another man.

"Don't worry," Alaric said confidently, "You will fall in love with me."

He was Arrogant.

Cecilia couldn't help but feel that her good intentions were being misunderstood.

She didn't want to say more.

The car soon arrived at Alaric's villa.

The two walked into the hall and went upstairs to their rooms.

Alaric suddenly paused, and Cecilia, not noticing, bumped into his back. Fortunately, it wasn't too fast, just a light bump, and Cecilia took a step back.

Alaric turned and said to Cecilia, "Do you need a driver for work tomorrow?"

Cecilia replied, "No. Just lend me a car. It's too late now; I'll have a car delivered tomorrow."

Alaric said, "Did you forget that we gave you a car? It's been in the garage since our wedding day, and the keys are on the table in the living room."

"How much was it? I'll pay you back," Cecilia thought, since she had it, she might as well use it, but she didn't want to take advantage of Alaric.

"Do I look poor?" Alaric raised an eyebrow.

Cecilia explained, "Since we're in a partnership, we should keep the accounts clear..."

Alaric went straight into the bedroom and rudely shut the door.

Cecilia was startled.

Alaric had such a bad temper!

She was offering to pay him; why was he so upset?

Cecilia was speechless and inexplicably a bit angry.

She walked past Alaric's bedroom angrily and returned to her room.

As soon as Cecilia entered her bedroom, her phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID and answered, "Seraphina."

"I thought you forgot about me after getting a husband!" Seraphina was angry.

"I've been busy," Cecilia replied.

"Busy with what? Busy getting cozy with Alaric?" Seraphina said bluntly, obviously teasing.

Cecilia was speechless then patiently explained, "I went to the Whitaker family the day after the wedding, then went back to my family today. I just got back to Alaric's villa, and you called me."

"So you're saying I called at the perfect time," Seraphina complained.

"What do you need?" Cecilia didn't want to argue with her.

"I'm at The Astralium Empire club right now. Guess what I saw?" Seraphina said with a mischievous smile.

"What did you see?" Cecilia wasn't very interested.

"I saw Penelope hugging a man. If I take a picture and post it online, do you think she'll still dare to accuse me of going to nightclubs... Holy crap!" Seraphina suddenly shouted.

Cecilia rubbed her ear.

From now on, she would definitely use the speakerphone when talking to Seraphina. She couldn't listen with the phone to her ear; her ears would go deaf.

"The man Penelope is hugging is Dashiell!" Seraphina's exaggerated voice came through the phone.
