Chapter 634 Announcing Pregnancy
So, the all-knowing Alaric was totally clueless about the examination report.
Cecilia was just standing there, speechless.
Alaric had been staring at that report forever and still didn't get a thing!
Cecilia couldn't help but mock him, "If you can't understand it, why are you even looking at it?"
Alaric felt a bit embarrassed.
He thought it was just a simple sheet with test results.
But nope, it was just a bunch of indicators he couldn't make sense of.
"Give it to me," Cecilia said.
Alaric hesitated for a moment and then decided, "Let's find a doctor."
With that, he grabbed Cecilia's hand and started walking quickly.
Cecilia struggled to keep up with him.
She thought to herself that she would definitely make Alaric regret dragging her around like this later.
They walked into the doctor's office.
The doctor took a look at Cecilia's examination report and smiled.
Alaric's eyelid twitched.
"Congratulations, Mrs. Whitaker is pregnant," the doctor announced.
As soon as the words left the doctor's mouth, Cecilia's nervousness eased.
She had a hunch she was pregnant when she saw the results, but hearing it from the doctor made it real.
It was like knowing you aced a test but still feeling anxious until the results were officially announced.
Now, Cecilia was finally at ease.
Her emotional reaction was obvious.
But Alaric, who always said he wanted a child, was just sitting there, dumbfounded.
His reaction even surprised the doctor.
It wasn't what anyone expected, and the room felt a bit awkward.
Cecilia frowned.
Didn't Alaric really want a child?
Why was he so calm, with no reaction at all when the pregnancy was announced?
She thought he'd be jumping for joy.
She nudged Alaric.
He was startled.
Cecilia was speechless.
She had just lightly touched him.
Did he need to be so shocked?
"Alaric, the doctor said I'm pregnant," Cecilia said.
She thought, 'I'm pregnant, aren't you happy?'
Alaric looked at her, his gaze fixed.
"If you don't want this child, we can get rid of it..." Cecilia's eyes widened in shock.
Alaric quickly covered her mouth, stopping her from saying any more.
Cecilia felt unhappy.
Alaric's reaction was completely different from what she had expected.
Disappointment washed over her.
"Don't say that; don't scare the baby," Alaric said softly.
His voice was incredibly gentle.
Cecilia suddenly got goosebumps.
Alaric's change was too drastic.
Just a moment ago, he looked depressed, but now he seemed so loving.
Alaric let go of her mouth, holding her small hand tightly in his big one. Cecilia felt a bit of pain, but more than that, she felt a sense of happiness.
"So, is there anything we need to pay attention to now?" Alaric asked the doctor.
The sudden change left the doctor a bit unprepared.
He cleared his throat and regained his composure. "There are quite a few things to pay attention to in the early stages of pregnancy. Since the fetus is very fragile during implantation, the pregnant woman should avoid lifting heavy objects, walking too much, and definitely not running or falling. When eating, try to eat light foods to avoid adverse gastrointestinal reactions. Most importantly, no sexual activity...""We had sex last night, is that a problem?" Alaric asked nervously.
"Was there any bleeding?" the doctor asked calmly.
Alaric replied, "No."
The doctor said, "Then it should be fine."
"Even if we did it four times?" Alaric pressed.
Both the doctor and Cecilia were visibly embarrassed.
The doctor had already said that as long as there was no bleeding, it should be fine.
What did the number of times have to do with it?
Did Alaric have to be this clueless?
"As long as there's no bleeding, it shouldn't be a big problem," the doctor answered reluctantly.
"Is it okay if she's exhausted?" Alaric continued to ask.
The doctor was really speechless.
He explained again, "As long as there's no bleeding and Mrs. Whitaker doesn't feel uncomfortable, it should be fine."
"Do you feel uncomfortable?" Alaric quickly turned to ask Cecilia.
Cecilia thought Alaric was being quite dim at that moment.
She blushed and said, "No."
"Didn't you say it hurt last night?" Alaric asked nervously, "Does it still hurt? If I had known it hurt, I would have held back..."
Cecilia had said it hurt just to make him stop.
Every night with so much energy, who could handle it?
Now it was really too embarrassing.
Especially with a doctor sitting across from them, she did have a sense of shame.
"Is it really okay? Should we check again?" Alaric was overly nervous.
Cecilia couldn't take it anymore.
The doctor couldn't help but say, "There's no need to check for now. The fetus has just been implanted. Even if we check, we won't find anything. Come back in a few days for an ultrasound to confirm the embryo and heartbeat."
Hearing the doctor say this, Alaric calmed down for a second.
"Actually, there's no need to be too nervous about pregnancy. The pregnant woman should also relax. As long as she doesn't do anything too strenuous, it's not much different from usual. Just be a little careful," the doctor added.
He thought Alaric was too nervous.
"Okay, thank you," Cecilia quickly said, "Can we leave now?"
She really didn't want to stay here any longer.
She was afraid that if they stayed any longer, Alaric would tell the doctor all the details of their sex life.
"Yes, you can go," the doctor said gently, "Remember to come back in a few days for an ultrasound and have regular prenatal checkups."
"Okay," Cecilia agreed.
She pulled Alaric's hand, wanting to leave quickly.
"Slow down," Alaric said, seeing Cecilia's big movements, and quickly called out to her.
Cecilia just wanted him to leave quickly and not embarrass them.
"When you dragged me to see the doctor just now, you were almost flying!" Cecilia exposed him.
Alaric stiffened.
Obviously, he was overly shocked.
"Not that exaggerated!" Cecilia saw Alaric's expression and couldn't help but comfort him, "The doctor just said, it's the same as usual, no need to be so careful."
"No way," Alaric refused.
Cecilia frowned.
Alaric said, "My little princess, from the moment she's an embryo, she can't be scared at all."
"Are you talking about the baby in my belly?" Cecilia raised an eyebrow.
"You're also my little princess," Alaric quickly corrected, thinking Cecilia was jealous!
Cecilia remarked, "My point is, how can you be so sure it's a girl? What if it's a boy?"
