Chapter 110 Dominic's Humble Plea

Isadora's death still surprised Cecilia.

She thought Isadora might live a life worse than death, thought Isadora's days would definitely be tough, but she didn't expect Juliana to be this ruthless.

From what she knew about Isadora, no matter how bad things got, Isadora wouldn't choose to die unless someone killed her.

Cecilia turned her gaze to Juliana, who seemed on the verge of fainting from crying, her eyes swollen, constantly blaming herself, "It's all my fault. If I had gone to Isadora's room earlier, I would have stopped her, and this wouldn't have happened... It's all my fault..."

At this moment, all the members of the Lockhart family had arrived at the hospital.

After Isadora's "suicide," Vincent had rushed her to the hospital, but by the time she arrived, she was already dead. The doctors' efforts to resuscitate her were in vain, and they pronounced her dead.

Upon receiving the news, Cecilia and her parents quickly rushed to the hospital.

When they arrived, they saw Isadora's pale face, lying motionless on the hospital bed.

Vivienne held Isadora's hand, calling her name over and over, crying her heart out.

Vincent, who had been furious, now looked guilty and remorseful because of Isadora's death, clearly in great pain.

Ophelia sat on the sofa in the hospital room, her usual strong demeanor softened, her eyes red and swollen, sighing repeatedly.

The room was filled with immense sorrow.

Perhaps no one had expected that such a situation would actually drive Isadora to her death.

Whether she was truly driven to death, Cecilia glanced at Juliana a few more times.

She began to wonder if she had underestimated Juliana!

Two days later, Isadora was buried.

In the Yakurosean Empire, the funeral of someone without children is very simple, with no memorial service. After cremation, Isadora was sent to the Lockhart family cemetery, becoming the youngest person to die in the Lockhart family.

On the way back from the cemetery.

Cecilia and her parents sat in a car.

Theodore couldn't help but sigh, "I really didn't expect Isadora to choose suicide. Although she was usually arrogant and domineering, her sudden departure still leaves me feeling uneasy."

Genevieve also nodded, feeling regretful, "After all, she was a child we watched grow up. How could she just leave like that?"

Cecilia just looked out the window, silently watching the scenery pass by, not saying a word.

The car first arrived at the Lockhart family villa, where Genevieve got out, and Cecilia and Theodore headed to the company together.

"Cecilia." Theodore suddenly grabbed Cecilia's hand.

Cecilia was startled. "What's wrong, Dad?"

"Promise me you won't ever think of doing something like that," Theodore said heavily.

Cecilia couldn't help but smile.

So Theodore was worried that she might, like Isadora, choose suicide if ever hurt by love.

She said, "Dad, don't worry. I cherish my life. Even if the world ends, I would never choose suicide."

"That's good," Theodore sighed, "I really didn't like Isadora before, thought she was unkind and ill-mannered. But now, seeing her dead and Vincent and the others so sad, I feel a bit heartbroken. I'm really afraid that if something like this happened to you, your mom and I wouldn't be able to go on."

Cecilia's eyes reddened a bit.

She suddenly thought of her past life.

In her past life, her parents had indeed protected her with their lives, allowing her to survive a car accident.

She held back her emotions. "Dad, in this life, I will definitely stay with you and Mom until the end."

"Good," Theodore nodded quickly, patting Cecilia's hand heavily, as if to comfort himself.

The car arrived at the Lockhart Group.

As they got out of the car.

Theodore and Cecilia had already composed themselves, walking into the company with their heads held high, each heading to their own office.

Cecilia sat down.

Rose followed Cecilia in, reporting on work, "Mr. Alexander from Human Resources came by this morning. He heard you were attending Isadora's funeral and asked me to tell you that if you're back at the company, please go see him. There's been a small issue with the personnel changes."

"What issue?" Cecilia raised an eyebrow.

After Isadora's death, Cecilia had been helping with the funeral arrangements.

Of course, she was somewhat surprised by Isadora's death but didn't have much emotional attachment.

She wouldn't feel pity for someone who had done unspeakable things to her.

She was just sending Isadora off out of humanitarian concern.

With her absence, the personnel changes in the sales department were left entirely to Gilbert. So she didn't know what had happened in the past two days.

"A collective protest," Rose replied.

So, it wasn't a small issue.

"Yesterday morning, a notice was issued requiring all employees to move to their new offices according to the latest positions and complete all handover work by today. However, until now, all the employees who need to be moved are still sitting at their original posts, doing their original work, with no intention of moving." Rose reported, "Mr. Alexander planned to talk to the employees one by one, but everyone refused to speak with him."

"Have you found out who is leading this?" Cecilia asked.

There was always a ringleader. Once she catched that person, everything else fell into place.

"Not yet," Rose replied.

"Then do nothing for now, let them be, and once we find that person, make an example of them," Cecilia said decisively.

"Yes," Rose was genuinely starting to admire Cecilia's wisdom and boldness.

"Also, inform Mr. Alexander of our plan."

"Yes."

Rose left.

Cecilia didn't delay, turning her attention to her work.

At that moment, the phone suddenly rang.

Cecilia looked down at the caller ID. Seeing the caller, her gaze paused for a moment.

She thought for a moment and then answered, "Hello."

She deliberately used a distant tone.

"Did you delete my number already?" Dominic's voice came through, attempting to sound humorous.

Cecilia replied, "Yes, Alaric doesn't like me having too much contact with other men."

"Alaric... you've only known him for a short time, and you've already accepted him into your life," Dominic said, clearly suppressing his anger.

"Not long, but he's a part of my life now," Cecilia said, not wanting to waste words with Dominic, "Why are you calling me?"

Dominic asked, "Can't I call you for no reason?"

Cecilia said, "I'm very busy."

"I heard you started working at the Lockhart Group." Dominic changed the topic.

"Do you have business to discuss with me?" Cecilia maintained a distant attitude.

"Why be so cold to me? We were in love for so many years."

"If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now," Cecilia really didn't want to waste time on Dominic.

"Cecilia," Dominic suddenly called out anxiously.

Cecilia paused, holding the phone.

"Can I invite you to dinner tonight?" Dominic asked.

Cecilia refused, "Sorry, I don't want to."

"Shouldn't we at least talk things through? At least give me a chance to make amends."

Dominic's voice sounded so humble, as if he were begging.
