Chapter 438 Seraphina is Moved Again

When Cecilia bounced outta the backyard, Seraphina, that cold-hearted girl, didn't even bother to say goodbye.

Cecilia strolled through the hall.

In the hall, Atticus was still chillin' in the room, glued to the TV.

Seeing Cecilia roll in, he greeted her all friendly-like, "Cecilia, why not hang out a bit longer in the backyard? I'll have the servant bring you some more water."

"No thanks, Mr. Everhart, it's getting late, I should head back," Cecilia shot back.

"I'll walk you out," Atticus offered, all polite.

"No need, my driver’s just outside," Cecilia quickly declined. "But Mr. Everhart, can I have a word with you?" she asked.

"Now?" Atticus said, raising an eyebrow.

"Is it cool?" Cecilia asked.

"Sure, have a seat," Atticus agreed.

Cecilia plopped down on the couch, real close to Atticus.

"Mr. Everhart, Seraphina's on the mend. Usually, a week’s enough, and she should be good in a couple of days. After that, just a bit more TLC will do. Given her current health and her mental state, I think she doesn't need to be babied so much anymore," Cecilia laid it out straight.

"You mean I should let her get back to work?" Atticus asked.

"Yep." Cecilia nodded quickly.

Talking to business folks was never a hassle.

Seraphina, however, was a different story. Sometimes, no matter how much Cecilia explained, she just wouldn't understand.

"I've been thinking the same. We can't have Seraphina just vegging out at home all day. Her routine at home is even worse," Atticus said.

"Totally. Now, about the second thing, Seraphina and Dashiell's marriage," Cecilia said. "Given their current situation, a divorce should be pretty straightforward."

Atticus sighed, "I really like Dashiell, not just 'cause of Magnolia, but 'cause I've watched him grow up. I know him well; he's polite and considerate. Seraphina marrying him would be her good luck. They finally tied the knot, and now they're talking about splitting up."

Atticus kept sighing.

He was totally against Seraphina and Dashiell's divorce.

"I'll try to talk to Seraphina, but based on our chat tonight, she's dead set on getting a divorce. And Dashiell always felt that Seraphina had a thing for Sebastian. Despite his efforts, Seraphina still doesn't like him, and he's super bummed," Cecilia said.

"If I were him, I'd be too," Atticus seemed to get Dashiell. "I only found out later that Seraphina's car accident happened 'cause she was too freaked out over Sebastian's accident. If I were Dashiell, I couldn't handle my wife running off to another guy, causing the death of our baby. Dashiell's feelings are totally valid."

"So basically, there's not much hope left for their marriage," Cecilia said. "If they do get divorced, the chances of them getting back together are slim. So if that day comes, and Seraphina and Dashiell split, and she gets back with Sebastian, I hope you can bless them and not get in the way too much. The more you push, the stronger the revenge vibe will be."

"Are you talking about Seraphina's revenge vibe?" Atticus asked, then answered himself, "Yeah, because of her mom's incident, Seraphina still hasn’t forgiven me. If she really hooks up with Sebastian, I have no choice but to roll with it."

Cecilia's mention of revenge was never about Seraphina.

It was about Sebastian.

She worried that Sebastian, already filled with beef towards Atticus, would mentally condemn him.

She still hoped that Sebastian would eventually choose to let go of everything for Seraphina.

"That's all I gotta say. It's late, I should bounce," Cecilia said, not wanting to drag it out.

Seraphina's marriage, in the end, would depend on her own fate.

Cecilia turned down Atticus's offer to walk her out and headed to the door solo, hopping into Augustus's car.

It was indeed late, and she needed to hit the shower and crash as soon as she got home.

Just as she left, a dude lurking in the shadows stepped out.

He watched the car until its taillights vanished completely.

Sebastian sneered.

Penelope really went all out to snag Dashiell.

Every move of Cecilia and Seraphina was under Penelope's thumb.

Penelope had even figured Cecilia would swing by the Everhart Mansion to see Seraphina today.

Worried that Cecilia would try to patch things up between Seraphina and Dashiell, she quickly called him to butter up Seraphina.

To make sure Seraphina wouldn't change her mind.

Sebastian pulled out his phone and dialed Seraphina.

Seraphina picked up quickly, "Sebastian."

"You home?" Sebastian asked.

"Yeah, what's up?" Seraphina asked.

"Come to the door, I'm waiting for you at your front gate," Sebastian said.

Seraphina frowned.

She seemed a bit hesitant for him to come, which was a bit of a mental load.

After all, she hadn't divorced yet, and being so openly with Sebastian seemed kinda off.

But at this moment, she still agreed.

Seraphina walked to the front gate.

Sure enough, Sebastian was standing there.

He seemed to be holding a thermos.

Seeing Seraphina come out, his face lit up with a joyful smile that he couldn't hide, making Seraphina feel that Sebastian really, really wanted to see her.

Good thing she didn't blow him off over the phone, otherwise, Sebastian would have been super bummed.

"Are you discharged?" Seraphina asked with concern as she walked out.

"The doc said I'm good, so I got out today," Sebastian said.

"That's good. But you still need to rest more," Seraphina reminded.

"I know." Sebastian smiled slightly. "I came to bring you some soup I made."

Seraphina frowned slightly. "Soup?"

It was the first time someone brought her soup.

"I asked the doc, your body needs more fish soup. But I know you don't like fish soup, you think it smells fishy. Atticus probably can't make you drink it, so I made one specially for you, and I've removed the fishy smell. I promise it won't taste fishy at all," Sebastian said, looking hopeful. "I spent four hours making this soup, you won't turn down my kindness, will you?" Sebastian said.

Seraphina's nose tingled.

She was touched by Sebastian.

In the middle of the night, just to bring her soup.

He knew she didn't like it, but it was good for her body, so he made it in a way she could drink it.

The key was, he had just been discharged.

And then spent four hours making soup for her.

She said with a choked voice, "Sebastian, why are you so good to me? Ever since we started dating, you've always been so good to me. I have such a bad temper, how can you be so indulgent with me?"

Sebastian chuckled lightly.

He reached out and touched Seraphina's hair, saying affectionately, "That's because I love you. When you love someone, you can tolerate everything about them."

Seraphina was really moved.

Sebastian was the best person in the world, not as Cecilia just said.
