Chapter 217 Austin Arrived

"When will Benjamin be back?" Daphne continued to ask calmly without exposing the embarrassment.

Evan chuckled softly and said, "I don't know."

Daphne asked, "You really don't know?"

"I really don't know." Evan didn't hide it from her. "He only said he would be back in a while, but he didn't mention a specific time."

Daphne fell silent.

No wonder the last time when she called, Benjamin mentioned the meeting to discuss things.

Evan started to speculate, "Did you do something bad behind Benjamin's back?"

Daphne felt helpless. 'Why does everyone react like this?'

"No," Daphne answered, "If he tells you the time he's coming back, give me a heads-up so I can prepare."

"Are you preparing to run away?" Evan's deep, slow voice came through the phone.

Daphne remained silent.

She thought, 'It's not easy to discuss matters with someone I'm close to.'

"If you've really done something to offend Benjamin, I advise you to confess honestly," Evan said with a hint of teasing in his words, "If you run away and he catches you, the consequences might be a bit dire."

Daphne said, "I didn't offend him."

Evan said, "I know."

Daphne said, "I really didn't offend him."

Evan said, "I believe you."

Daphne fell silent.

She thought, 'With his tone clearly teasing, does he really believe me?'

"Anyway, if you find out when he's coming back, give me a heads up." Daphne reminded him again in case he forgot.

Evan promised, "Okay."

After the call ended, Daphne handed the phone back to Kevin, still thinking about how she would explain things to Benjamin when he talked to her about the last time.

Seeing her troubled expression, Kevin felt curious, asking, "Daphne, how did you offend Benjamin?"

Daphne said, "I didn't."

Kevin asked, "Are you lusting after Benjamin's handsomeness, wanting to have sex with him?"

Daphne was speechless. She thought, 'Am I really like that?'

Kevin rubbed his chin and asked, "Have you ever had feelings for Benjamin?"

"Do you dare?" Daphne retorted.

Benjamin was the devil instructor. Who would dare to have feelings for him?

Even now, she still remembered the scenes of her initial training, various physical training, and punishments.

"I'm going to bed first." Daphne stood up, not wanting to dwell on this matter.

Her house was upstairs from Kevin's, which she had bought but never lived in before, so she was just able to come over this time.

Back in her room, she cleared her mind of all thoughts, took a shower, and then lay down on the bed to sleep.

When she was in trouble, she naturally figured things out. She should focus on resolving the current issues. Only by sorting things out here can she effectively deal with the mysterious person supporting Kayla.

She could only deal with the mysterious man who supported Kayla if she sorted current things out.

As for Benjamin...

Let her wait until he officially returned.

In the blink of an eye, morning arrived.

By seven o'clock, Jesse had already brought breakfast to Daphne's home.

After Daphne finished her breakfast, Jesse drove her to the company. Once everything was settled, he proceeded to the hotel to retrieve the poisoned report as agreed upon. While he was away, Daphne worked in the office, organizing and investigating the clues surrounding the incident.

Just as Daphne was halfway through organizing, she received a phone call.

It was from the security guard at Daisy's residence.

"Ms. Murphy, Mr. Hill have barged in with his men. He wants to take Mr. Lysandros away," the guard said rapidly.

Daphne's brows furrowed as she said, "Stop him. I'm coming right away."

The guard said, "Understood!"

The call ended.

Daphne messaged Jesse that she had something to deal with, and then she headed to Daisy's place.

At Daisy's place.

Daisy had just finished breakfast and was out for a walk when she saw a group of people heading her way.

However, they were still far off, so she didn't think much of it, assuming it was someone else's security guards out for a morning run, considering she lived in the affluent villa area of Gedser.

It wasn't until ten minutes later.

After finishing her walk in the yard and planning to go inside to listen to piano music, she saw someone approaching.

It was at this moment that she recognized the person.

Austin and his men were trying to force their way in, but the guards arranged by Daphne for Daisy stopped them in their tracks.

Guard Benjamin immediately called Daphne.

"Step aside." Austin looked at the person blocking his way, a chill emanating from him.

The guard stood firm and said, "Ms. Murphy said you can't go in."

"But my wife is inside. Why can't I go in?" Austin spoke confidently, "Do I need to call the police and have them settle this?"

The guard didn't budge.

Austin immediately called out, "Call the police!"

"Wait!" Daisy stepped out and spoke up.

She knew that once Austin called the police here, they would say it was a domestic matter.

At that point, things might become difficult to handle.

Daisy was dressed in autumn clothes, but her pregnancy was not yet showing. Standing at the door, she asked, "What are you here for?"

"I'm taking you home," Austin said in three words.

Daisy said, "Is that so?"

Austin said, "You're coming with me."

"Why should I go back with you? To have you make me abort the child again?" Daisy's attitude towards Austin was cold, exuding indifference.

Austin stiffened.

He didn't want to upset her further, so he stood at the door, his words laden with complex emotions. "I know everything now."

Daisy furrowed her brows slightly.

She didn't quite understand the meaning behind his words.

"I know this child is mine." Austin was shocked when he discovered this information. "I also know Kaitlyn deceived me."

"And then?" Daisy's voice was soft, her nose tingling slightly at this moment.

"Come with me. I'll make it up to you." Austin looked at Daisy's slightly reddened eyes, genuinely regretting his past actions. "I swear that I will never do anything to hurt you from now on."

He knew he had been reckless before, causing Daisy to feel estranged.

However, he couldn't live without her.

During the time she was away, he wasn't happy.

"Austin, what do you take me for?" Daisy's heart pricked slightly. "Do you think I still care about your compensation?"

Due to a dramatic misunderstanding, they were forced together.

She had feelings for him and had once liked him, but those feelings shattered like glass when his hurtful words cut through.

"Do you think I don't mind your infidelity?" Daisy still felt sad thinking about those things now.

She was a sensitive person.

She couldn't let go of emotions as easily as Daphne could.

She resented Austin, but she had to admit that deep down, somewhere, his words still stirred emotions within her.

Austin explained, "I didn't cheat. Apart from you, I've never slept with another woman."

Daisy gave a bitter smile.

For so many nights, she had smelled the perfume of other women on him and seen lipstick marks left by other women.

Did he really think she was foolish?
