Chapter 712 Can You Face the Real Him?

Once Diana shattered the barrier that Caspian had painstakingly controlled, everything that followed would spiral out of control.

"What do you think of Caspian as a person?" Diana suddenly asked during a moment of contemplation.

Louis paused, then answered based on his own understanding, "He's pretty good."

Diana was surprised. "Pretty good?"

"Yeah," Louis admitted.

At first, Louis was indeed very opposed to Caspian being with Diana, but after understanding Caspian's situation and the reasons for his initial disappearance, he felt that deep down, Caspian was a kind person.

Caspian didn't use Diana's affection for him to force her into anything.

Instead, he chose to control his own feelings, forcing himself not to do anything that would hurt Diana.

This kind of thing seemed easy to do, but only those who had experienced it knew how difficult it was.

"So, if I choose to be with him, you won't object." Diana was now only concerned about this one question.

Louis looked at her for a long time before saying, "I will."

"Don't you think he's pretty good?" Diana was a bit confused.

"I'm standing on Caspian's side in opposing you being with him," Louis reasoned with her, feeling that Diana was still a child at heart. "To you, it might just be the difference between being together and not being together, but to Caspian, it's the difference between suppressing himself and being his true self."

"Can you face his true self?" Louis asked seriously.

Diana nodded. "I can."

Louis didn't know how to explain it to her.

He felt that Diana was oversimplifying the matter.

"Isn't it just leaving my current friends and only hanging out with him?" Diana said frankly, showing she was much more mature than Louis had imagined. "I can do it."

Louis frowned slightly, clearly not expecting this answer.

He knew how much Diana loved to socialize.

"Caspian is just sick, he's not inherently like this." Diana saw things very clearly. "The fact that he pushes me away out of fear of hurting me shows that he is inherently a kind person. I can heal him."

"How can you do that?" Louis asked rhetorically.

"The cause of his psychological issues is his mother's abandonment and his father's harshness and violence when he was a child." Diana had known this since she was young and was determined to make Caspian feel warmth. "Plus, he doesn't like to express himself and always keeps things bottled up, which has made the situation worse."

"As long as he is given enough love and a sense of security, he will gradually get better." Diana shared her perspective.

Louis didn't say anything, these things were easier said than done.

"I know what you're worried about. You're afraid that I'll lose my freedom after being with him," Diana said, understanding emotions better than Louis. "And that I won't be able to handle Caspian's issues and will end up making things worse, leading to mutual destruction."

"Yes," Louis admitted.

"I promise you, none of your worries will come true." Diana already had a complete rescue plan in her mind. "I will be fine, and so will he."

Louis didn't say anything, he didn't want Diana to take this risk.

"Give me a month, and I'll show you the results," Diana promised.

Louis felt complicated and heavy-hearted. After weighing everything, he said to Diana, "Before you officially get together with him, Caspian should show you his true self. If you can't accept it, leave quickly. I've already contacted the best psychologist."

This way, the damage caused by not truly being together would be less. Once mutual destruction occured, no one could clean up the mess.

"Got it." Diana smiled, looking quite relaxed. "Don't worry."

Louis didn't respond, it was impossible for him not to worry.

Until Diana and Caspian had a good outcome, Louis couldn't be at ease.

After finishing their conversation, Diana gave Louis some instructions before leaving to find Caspian. It took about an hour to get to Caspian's place by cab, and she had more than an hour before Caspian got off work.

During this time, Diana simply decorated Caspian's room and prepared a candlelight dinner.

This was the last formal confession and her final step in pursuing Caspian.

Caspian could see what Diana was doing because he had installed surveillance cameras in the living room.

Watching Diana busy in the living room, Caspian couldn't focus on work at all.

Clearly, they could just drift apart like this, so why did it have to escalate to an uncontrollable point?

Caspian didn't want her to see that side of him.

"Mr. Garcia?" Alvin called him several times, seeing him lost in thought. "Mr. Garcia!"

Caspian gradually came back to his senses, his voice a bit hoarse, "What is it?"

"Diana messaged me saying you weren't answering your phone. She said she's already at your place and asked you to go home early after work," Alvin said.

Caspian's emotions were very subdued. "Got it."

That afternoon, Caspian didn't linger at the office after work.

Sitting in the car, he watched the buildings and people outside the window recede, and he couldn't help but wonder how Diana would react when she found out about his extreme control and possessiveness.

Would she be scared to tears, run away, or call him a lunatic?

No matter which it was, Caspian was already prepared to face it.

But even so, thinking about it made his heart ache, an ache so intense it made him want to destroy himself, to lock himself in that dark room.

"Mr. Garcia, are you okay?" Alvin saw Caspian's not-so-good expression through the rearview mirror.

"After you drop me off, don't leave. Wait outside." Caspian was afraid he couldn't control himself and wanted to leave Diana a way out. "If you hear any arguing or things breaking, rush in and take Diana away."

"What?" Alvin was a bit confused.

Caspian just gave a little more instruction, "Her safety is the priority. If necessary, you can hit me."

"You..."

"Just do it."

"Yes," Alvin obediently agreed.

After a while, Caspian arrived home.

Before getting out of the car, Caspian sent a message to Louis. After finishing these tasks, he and Alvin went upstairs.

During the elevator ride, Alvin felt a bit nervous, holding his breath and not daring to make a sound.

The elevator arrived.

Caspian stepped out with his long legs. From the outside, he looked no different from usual, but only he knew how tormented he felt inside.

"Mr. Garcia..." Alvin swallowed hard.

"Wait here," Caspian stood at his door, his voice a bit hoarser than usual. "I've sent you the door code. If anything goes wrong, go in immediately."
