Chapter 699 If You Can't Describe It, Don't Bother

"If he still refuses to tell you his feelings after learning about your arranged marriage, what will you do?" Charles couldn't help but worry for her.

Diana had never faced any setbacks since she was a child. Her studies went smoothly, her family life and her career was smooth, just like Charles back then.

What if Diana faced a setback in her love life and kept it to herself, not willing to show it? How would he comfort her wounded heart?

Diana took a sip of soup and exaggeratedly said, "Then I'll just sleep with him."

Charles frowned slightly. "You're a girl."

"Just kidding." Diana smiled, her lips curling up. She had already thought about the next steps. "If it really comes to that, I'll lock him up at home and force him to talk it out. I won't allow him to leave at all until he speaks up."

Diana knew that forcing someone like this wasn't good. But some things, even if she knew they were not good, she still had to do them.

If she knew clearly that Caspian didn't have feelings for her, she wouldn't act this way.

"Can you stop him?" Charles was slightly curious.

"Stopping him is not a problem." Diana thought for a moment and felt it was quite hopeful. "I'm just afraid he'll sneak out while I'm taking a shower."

She was sure she could stay up longer than Caspian.

But she couldn't keep an eye on all the time when she was taking a shower. In this weather, Diana couldn't possibly not shower.

Charles placed her favorite food in front of her and said, "You have me."

Diana blinked her beautiful eyes and then laughed.

As for Caspian, at this moment, he was already attending a banquet with his secretary.

Caspian originally planned to make a brief appearance and then leave as usual, but he overheard someone discussing Diana.

"Mr. Hagen, I heard your son plans to marry Ms. Reynolds. Is that true?"

"My son does have some affection for Diana, but whether it will work out depends on the Reynolds family and the Murphy family," Aubrey Hagen said politely. Both of them were actors hired by Charles. "When we talked last time, they said they would ask Diana when they had the chance, but we haven't received a reply yet."

"Your son is so outstanding; they should agree," the person continued. "We'll be waiting for your good news."

After discussing this matter, the two continued to talk about other things.

The whole process was very natural, and Caspian didn't suspect anything. After all, from his position, the two couldn't see him.

As for how they could be so precise, the main reason was that both of them had tiny Bluetooth earpieces in their ears, which Caspian couldn't see from his angle.

After hearing these words, Caspian didn't leave in a hurry as he usually did.

Caspian asked a few people about it and finally found out that only those close to the Reynolds family, the Murphy family, and the Hagen family knew a little about it. No one else had heard of it.

Because of this, Caspian, who initially didn't believe it, instantly became almost convinced.

The secretary noticed Caspian's distraction and lightly nudged his elbow, lowering her voice, "Mr. Garcia, someone is calling you."

Caspian snapped back to reality and, seeing someone standing in front of him, quickly adjusted his state and exchanged a few pleasantries.

After the banquet ended.

Caspian called Alvin and asked him to investigate Diana's arranged marriage.

"Given the way those three families operate, they won't directly admit to anything that isn't finalized," Alvin replied, adding, "So, it's impossible to know if it's true or not."

"Start with Diana's friends," Caspian said, sitting in the back seat, his long, narrow eyes unreadable.

Alvin boldly asked, "Why don't you just ask her directly?"

"Do your job," Caspian said and hung up the phone.

He couldn't ask. As someone who "didn't like" Diana, he shouldn't care about whether she was getting married, let alone ask about it.

Over the next week, Diana received messages from her friends one after another, saying that someone was inquiring about her arranged marriage with the Hagen family. They all said what she had told them to say.

Diana thanked them one by one.

Eddy, being a straightforward person, called her directly, "I really don't get it. Why would you go after Caspian, who doesn't respond to you, instead of someone as good as Lon? What's so great about him?"

"He's cute." Diana's answer was different every time.

Eddy said, "Lon is cute too."

"Lon is handsome," Diana corrected his wording. "If you can't describe it properly, don't bother."

"I wish you failure in your pursuit." Eddy, frustrated by how hard it was to win over Caspian, didn't want Diana to be with him. "And I hope he ends up rejecting you!"

"Your mom texted me yesterday asking if I was coming over for dinner." Diana easily had Eddy in her grasp. "Should I tell her about you getting another girl pregnant and not taking responsibility?"

"I didn't!" Eddy instinctively retorted. "You're making that up."

"You're allowed to curse me, but I'm not allowed to say a few words to your mom?" Diana countered.

Eddy said, "Do whatever you want. Even if you tell her, I won't bless you."

In Eddy's eyes, Diana was a very, very good person.

A good person should be with an excellent partner.

But now, Caspian was making Diana work so hard and put in so much effort. Eddy really didn't have any good feelings towards him.

"How childish." Diana didn't argue with him, knowing he was too concerned. "Wait in Gedser. After I win him over, I'll treat you all to a meal."

"I'd rather starve."

"Then starve."

"You've changed," Eddy accused her. "You're going to starve me for Caspian."

Diana said a parting remark and hung up the phone.

Diana thought Caspian would come to ask her if the arranged marriage was true after asking Eddy and the others, but she waited for a whole month without any sign of him.

During this month, Caspian remained as distant and indifferent to Diana as ever, treating her only as his personal secretary.

Seeing that the two-month period was almost up and Caspian hadn't made a move, Diana was ready to take action herself.

But before forcing the issue, she asked Charles to help test the waters. Then she would dicide how to proceed.

Charles agreed without hesitation. On the fiftieth day of Diana's stay in Ivrea City, Charles found Caspian during a break.

Sitting together on the outdoor balcony, Charles first chatted about other things before getting to the point, "In ten days, Diana's two-month free pursuit period will be over. Haven't you made up your mind yet?"
