Chapter 502 Meticulous Logical Thinking

So, Diana was already having a blast messing around with Gavin. These two drama geeks were acting out scenes from some TV show in the villa.

Gavin was the bad guy, and Diana was the righteous leader's daughter.

The plot had gotten to the part where Gavin, the poisoned villain, had nabbed the leader's daughter and was planning to use her to get the antidote from her dad.

As they kept acting, they suddenly realized something was off—they were missing a person!

"Louis!" Diana bounced out of Gavin's grip, her voice super cute. "We need someone to play the righteous leader. Help us out."

"Louis, come on!" Gavin was hyped, clearly stoked to have found some drama buddies.

"No," Louis shot back and added something that bummed Diana out. "You haven't finished your homework today, and you still have lessons to learn."

"There's still plenty of time. Let's play first," Diana just wanted to have fun.

Louis wanted to refuse.

Diana started to plead, holding his hand, "Louis, please play with us for a bit. I promise I'll study hard after we finish, no slacking off!"

"Promise?" Louis still doted on Diana.

Diana nodded.

After much thought, Louis caved but asked to switch roles to avoid too much of a character contrast.

Louis played the villain, and Gavin played the righteous leader.

"Let go of my daughter," Gavin quickly got into character, embodying the authoritative leader. "Or I'll make sure you face the consequences."

Louis lightly held Diana by the collar, his face showing a maturity beyond his years. "You?"

"Me." Gavin's voice was deep.

Louis placed his other hand on Diana's neck, his round eyes filled with coldness. "Let's see if you can kill me first or if I break your daughter's neck first."

"Father, save me!" Diana immediately started crying in fear.

Gavin looked troubled, clearly torn between the people and his daughter.

Diana and Louis waited a long time for Gavin's next line, but it never came, so they both stopped and looked at him expectantly.

"Gavin, did you forget your lines?" Diana asked very seriously.

"No," Gavin replied quickly. "I was just thinking about whether to agree or not, which one should I choose, the people's safety or my daughter's?"

Gavin furrowed his brow in deep thought, genuinely considering it.

Diana sighed quietly and then, with a dejected little head, said to Louis, "Louis, let's go do our homework."

"Okay." Louis breathed a sigh of relief; acting really wasn't his thing.

Seeing Diana leave, Gavin was momentarily confused. "Why are you leaving? Aren't we continuing?"

"No," Diana said.

"Why?"

"I have to do my homework."

"Homework can be done anytime; it's not urgent." Gavin just wanted to play with them, thinking Diana was too lively. "Let's act out another scene, a different show!"

Louis furrowed his brow and reminded, "Gavin."

"What?" Gavin still didn't get it.

"Diana needs to study," Louis said.

Gavin paused, realizing that as an adult, he shouldn't be encouraging the kids to play when they wanted to study.

And so, the villa suddenly became quiet.

Louis was always quiet, spending the entire afternoon sitting there reading.

After finishing her homework, Diana took out her pen and started drawing. Immersed in her art, Diana was also very quiet, fully focused and undisturbed by external matters.

This left Gavin bored!

Seeing Diana so engrossed, Gavin went to find Louis, thinking Louis was just reading extracurricular books.

Gavin sat down next to Louis and whispered, "Louis, let's chat."

"I'm reading."

"You can read anytime."

Louis wondered if this was something an adult should say.

"Aren't you curious about your parents' stories before you were born?" Gavin knew what could catch Louis's attention and spoke mysteriously.

Louis paused in turning the page, his round eyes deepening. He had looked into Daphne and Benjamin's past but found nothing. Later, he learned that Daphne was the most skilled hacker.

"If you play with me, I'll tell you their stories," Gavin said deliberately, thinking Louis was really cute. "Ask me anything, and I'll spill the beans, no secrets."

Louis was tempted but still refused, "No need."

"Aren't you curious?"

"Yes."

"Then why won't you let me tell you?" Gavin was genuinely curious.

At Louis's age, shouldn't kids be easily distracted by things they were interested in? How could he resist?

"You telling me requires me to play with you." Louis's logic was tight. "If I really want to know, I can ask Grandpa and Grandma when I have time."

Louis was so right that Gavin couldn't argue.

"Besides, Emma and Zoey seem to know more about Mom and Dad than you do," Louis said directly.

"Nonsense." Gavin didn't accept that. "I watched your mom grow up. I know everything she did as a kid!"

"When did Mom learn hacking?" Louis asked a question.

Gavin was stumped by the question. "I don't know."

"How did she meet Dad?" Louis asked again.

Gavin still didn't know.

Louis stopped asking, just looking at Gavin as if to say, "Do you still think you know more than Emma and Zoey?"

"Ask about your mom's childhood. I know everything about her childhood," Gavin emphasized the childhood part.

"What did Mom say when she saw Lydia for the first time?" Louis asked.

Gavin thought, 'Who would know that?'

"What was the only thing they ever argued about?" Louis continued.

Gavin was utterly confused, thinking, 'They argued?'

"You don't know more about Mom than Alexander and Lydia, and you don't know more about Dad than Grandpa and Grandma," Louis summarized in one sentence. "And you don't know more about their relationship than Emma and Zoey."

So, why would Louis waste his study time playing with Gavin?
