Chapter 318 Don't Tell Anyone You're from the Reynolds Family

Benjamin's eyes lifted slightly. "Yeah."

Anouk hesitated, looking scholarly. "Are you really chasing the girl Desmond mentioned?"

"Which one?" Benjamin asked.

"The one who's 6.5 feet tall, has an eight-pack, and can easily throw you over her shoulder," Anouk replied.

Benjamin's lips pressed together. He thought, 'Desmond, I'll deal with you later.'

"I'm not against it," Anouk said carefully. "But have you really thought it through? She's 4 inches taller than you."

Many people cared about height. Benjamin had always been proud and just. Could he accept someone taller?

"That's his requirement for a partner," Benjamin said, ignoring Henry's disapproving look, "not mine."

Henry and Anouk paused, surprised.

"Are you two together?" Anouk asked, curious.

Henry's face turned serious. "He has someone he likes?"

"You didn't know?" Anouk asked.

"You knew?" Henry shot back.

"Yeah, Benjamin texted me," Anouk said.

Henry's face showed clear displeasure. He glared at Benjamin. "You're really something!"

'Not telling me, what's the point of having a son like this?' Henry thought.

"You deleted my Facebook, and you blame me?" Benjamin said lazily.

Henry wanted to curse, 'No, Facebook, can't text?' But he stayed silent, keeping his pride.

"Still chasing," Benjamin replied to Anouk.

"Don't say you're my son when you go out. Chasing someone for so long and still not succeeding, it's embarrassing," Henry mocked.

Anouk looked at him, and Henry immediately shut up.

Henry sat silently while Anouk and Benjamin chatted about his job, where he lived, and other daily stuff.

After the conversation, Anouk and Henry were surprised by one thing.

"Benjamin," Anouk hesitated, not wanting to hurt his pride. "Isn't it a bit inappropriate to live with a girl and have her provide you with a job?"

"Why be so tactful?" Henry finally spoke. "He's just spineless; relying on a woman, it's shameful."

Benjamin didn't mind. "Yeah, relying on a woman."

"Don't say you're part of the Reynolds family when you go out. Tomorrow, I'll donate all the family assets!" Henry said seriously.

"Go ahead. I don't care," Benjamin said nonchalantly. "Even if I don't work, she'll support me. But you, if you donate all the assets, will you still have money to take Mom on trips?"

Henry was so angry he hung up the video call.

Anouk, who hadn't finished talking, looked at him angrily.

"This son is already a lost cause. Let's adopt one from the orphanage," Henry said seriously, almost wanting to beat Benjamin up. "Relying on a woman and being so proud of it, it's shameful!"

"You go if you want, but I only have one son, Benjamin," Anouk replied.

She was a bit surprised when she heard the news earlier, which was why she asked.

Thinking it over, Benjamin would inherit a lot of money from the family assets. Maybe he used that to get closer to the girl.

Benjamin knew Anouk and Henry would discuss it after the call, but he didn't explain much. Despite his wealth, he relied on Daphne now.

He opened Anouk's Facebook and sent a message: [I'll bring her back to meet you at Christmas.]

By afternoon, after lunch, Daphne checked on Charles and was relieved to see his fever had subsided.

Charles, who hadn't eaten lunch, was now hungry. "Daphne, I'm hungry."

"I saved some food for you; get up and eat," Daphne said.

Benjamin had saved the food for Charles. Daphne had thought of making something simple or ordering takeout, but Benjamin had already saved a portion.

When Charles saw the delicious food, he knew it was Benjamin's cooking.

"Eat up," Daphne reminded him. "After you finish, go apologize to Benjamin."

Charles stared at the food, feeling resistant. Eating food made by his rival?

"Daphne," Charles dragged out the last syllable.

Seeing his face hadn't fully recovered, Daphne softened her voice. "What's wrong?"

"I don't want to eat this," Charles blurted out. He only wanted to eat what Daphne made. "I want some soup."

Daphne paused, thinking of what Benjamin had said at lunch. Did he predict Charles's reaction?

"Daphne?" Charles called out, worried she might catch on.

"What kind of soup do you want?" Daphne asked, following Benjamin's instructions.

Charles thought for a moment. Daphne's cooking skills seemed average. After a brief consideration, he replied, "Just the simplest soup."

"Okay." Daphne was surprised. How did Benjamin even predict this?

After lunch, Benjamin told her that Charles might not like the food and gave her some strategies.

She went to the kitchen, scooped a bowl of soup that Benjamin had prepared, and brought it to Charles.

Charles was surprised but ate it obediently. Otherwise, Daphne might suspect he was causing trouble.

Twenty minutes later, Charles finished eating and was full.

Although the taste was a bit bland, Daphne prepared it, and he was satisfied.

"Charles," Daphne said suddenly after tidying up the dishes.

"Yes, Daphne?" Charles replied.

"You really don't like Benjamin?" Daphne asked.

"No," Charles blurted out. He wished Benjamin would disappear.

"But he's very good to you and knows you well," Daphne said, making him feel conflicted. "He saved food for you today, thinking you might not like it, and even made soup for you."

Charles was shocked. This soup was made by Benjamin?
