Chapter 379 Gavin Arrives

Lydia yanked Gavin back, looking puzzled. "What are you doing?"

"Having dinner," Gavin said, trying to hide his excitement. "Mr. Reynolds invited us."

"Didn't you already eat?" Lydia asked, giving him a look.

Lydia thought, 'Why bother them? Other people's brothers know when to act right, but mine’s always clueless.'

Gavin understood but was too curious about Benjamin. "When did I eat?"

Lydia was furious. "Gavin!"

Gavin said, "Come on, don't waste their kindness."

Lydia reluctantly went in.

Gavin kept glancing at Benjamin, the handsome guy who had taken Daphne home before.

Daphne had said it was nothing. Nothing, yet they were having dinner together?

"Daphne," Lydia called out, feeling guilty.

When Lydia came in, she noticed Daphne's coat on the sofa and documents on the table, indicating they had been together all afternoon.

She hoped she wasn't interrupting Daphne and Benjamin's private time.

"Sit down and eat." Daphne didn't mind. She had heard the conversation at the door. "We'll talk after dinner."

Lydia agreed.

Gavin handed the dinner he brought for Daphne to her. "Uncle Alexander was worried you'd be hungry, so he asked us to bring this over."

Originally, there wasn't enough food, but with this, it was just enough for the four of them.

During dinner, Gavin kept glancing at Benjamin and finally couldn't hold back. "I heard Lydia call you Benjamin?"

"Yes, Benjamin Reynolds," Benjamin replied, knowing who Gavin was.

Benjamin knew Gavin. When the team was being selected, they had to check the family members of the team members. He had reviewed their information, so he knew Gavin.

"I'm Gavin, Daphne's cousin," Gavin said, wanting to befriend someone who seemed so righteous. "How about we grab a meal sometime?"

Benjamin raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised.

Daphne was slow to warm up and didn't like socializing, while Gavin was the opposite, very outgoing.

Lydia felt like she was going to lose it. She pushed a piece of meat in front of him. "Gavin, just eat this, will ya?"

"No..." Gavin was about to refuse when he saw Lydia's "caring" look. He knew if he didn't eat the meat, he'd get in trouble.

"Benjamin is very busy, so forget about the meal," Daphne declined on Benjamin's behalf. She was afraid Gavin would get drunk and cause trouble again.

"Don't interrupt," Gavin said bravely. "You're not Benjamin; how do you know he doesn't have time to have a meal with me?"

As soon as he said this, Gavin received two dangerous looks, one from Lydia and the other from Daphne.

He was afraid of his two sisters, but at this moment, he couldn't be afraid!

He needed to get along well with Benjamin. From a man's intuition, he could tell this was a good man and wanted to help Daphne win him over.

"I listen to her," Benjamin said casually, with a hint of something else in his eyes. "In our house, she calls the shots."

Lydia and Gavin's eyes widened.

Lydia swallowed her food without chewing, her face full of surprise and barely contained excitement. "Our house?"

"You two are together?" Gavin finally caught on.

"We just made it official yesterday," Benjamin declared, glancing at Daphne, who was eating with her head down. "We're now a couple."

"That's great!" Lydia blurted out, unable to hide her smile.

Daphne stopped eating and looked at Lydia, confused.

"So, you're already together," Gavin said with a satisfied smile. "How about a drink to celebrate?"

Daphne and Lydia both said, "Gavin."

"What?" Gavin was genuinely happy. That fleeting glimpse years ago had left a lasting impression.

He thought Benjamin was great and wished Daphne could be with him. Who knew that before he could even start, Daphne was already married! Fortunately, everything was back on track now.

"Did you forget what you did last time you drank?" Daphne reminded him. "Do you want me to show you the video?"

Gavin's face stiffened.

Lydia explained to Benjamin, "Gavin's a nightmare when he's drunk. Anyone who drinks with him suffers."

Gavin protested, "How can you say that about me?"

Lydia asked, "Isn't it true?"

"Don't you want to know what Benjamin is like when he's drunk?" Gavin whispered to Lydia, "People's true nature comes out when they're drunk. I'm doing this to help Daphne test him. As they say, a person's character is revealed through their drinking habits."

Lydia gave him a look. If drinking habits revealed character, Gavin would be second to none.

"Benjamin, how about a drink?" Gavin directly asked Benjamin.

Benjamin glanced at Daphne and finally agreed. "Sure."

Benjamin could tell that Daphne and Gavin had a good relationship. Gavin might want to drink with him to test him. In that case, he would go along with it.

"Benjamin," Daphne hesitated, her eyes complicated. "Gavin's a real mess when he's drunk."

"It's okay," Benjamin reassured her. "I can handle it."

Fine, let them be. If things got out of hand later, Daphne would just deal with Gavin.

Seeing his goal achieved, Gavin called the bodyguards downstairs to get some alcohol. It was their first official meeting, so they had to drink something good.

"Why are you here?" Daphne took the opportunity before the drinking started to discuss the main issue.

Gavin wouldn't come to her directly unless it was something important.

Lydia and Gavin exchanged a glance.

Lydia urged him, "It's your issue; you say it."

"It's nothing major," Gavin said, trying to change the subject. "We can talk about it after I have a drink with Benjamin."

Daphne grew more suspicious and looked at Lydia, waiting for her to speak.
