Chapter 592 Jesse, Let's Go

"How come I didn't know?" Jesse racked his brain but came up empty.

"Well, you two aren't exactly official, so we had to keep it on the down-low," Elara said, chatting casually. "We only talked about it in our little circle."

"And now?" Jesse asked, "Do you still like seeing me with him?"

"Not anymore," Elara said seriously, her eyes locked on Jesse. "You're mine."

Jesse nodded. He'd already made up his mind that if Elara still liked watching, he'd give Mark a good beating. That would definitely change her mind.

After dinner, they took a stroll by the roadside. Even though she was holding Jesse's hand, it all felt a bit surreal to her. She'd waited over a decade for this, and it had gone smoother than she ever imagined.

The next day. With less than two hours before meeting the group, Elara quickly changed into an outfit from an indie designer and put on some delicate makeup.

Watching her fuss around, Jesse was genuinely puzzled. She looked amazing without makeup, so why spend over an hour on something barely noticeable?

"How do I look?" Elara asked, her eyes sparkling as she applied lipstick.

"You look great," Jesse said sincerely.

"Something still feels missing," Elara muttered, staring at the mirror.

The makeup was perfect, and the earrings matched her look and face shape well.

"This," Jesse said, pulling out a box, his usually cool demeanor tinged with a bit of nervousness. "A necklace."

Yes! A necklace.

Elara took it from Jesse's hand and saw it was the one she had wanted to buy but never did. Her eyes lit up. "How did you know I liked this?"

"A few days ago, when we were shopping, you kept glancing at it," Jesse explained, always attentive to such details. "You even searched for it on their website when we got back."

"Love you!" Elara stood on her tiptoes and kissed Jesse on the cheek. "Put it on me."

Jesse's nervousness immediately melted away. He put the necklace around her neck, making her neck look even more beautiful.

"No matter what they say later, you don't have to worry," Elara told Jesse, concerned he wouldn't know how to handle the situation. "Leave everything to me."

"Okay," Jesse agreed readily.

Another ten minutes passed, and they were ready to head out.

Looking at his simple outfit, Jesse tentatively asked, "Do I need to dress up a bit more?"

"No need," Elara responded directly, thinking Jesse looked very handsome. "This is perfect."

If he dressed up more, he'd be too handsome, and she feared that group would fixate on him. Even now, she wanted to hide him away.

At six in the evening, everyone gathered outside Fresh Harvest Eatery. When Jesse and Elara arrived, six people were already there. There were three men and three women, clearly three couples.

"Long time no see," Evelyn, who had a good presence, greeted Elara as Elara got out of the car. "Is this your boyfriend's car?"

Elara shot back, "Is there a problem?"

"Of course not, just curious how someone driving a car worth tens of thousands of dollars is taking us to Fresh Harvest Eatery," Evelyn said, standing in front of Elara and deliberately comparing their heights.

"It's none of your business," Jesse replied as he got out of the car, standing beside Elara and holding her hand. His cool demeanor was very attractive. "This is none of your concern."

As soon as Jesse appeared, the three girls' eyes were all on him. They thought that Elara's actor boyfriend was quite handsome.

"Sir, whatever Elara is paying you, I'll double it," Evelyn said, clearly interested in Jesse's looks and demeanor. "How about being my boyfriend?"

"I'll pay triple."

"I'll pay quadruple!"

The other two chimed in.

To them, hiring someone to pretend to be a boyfriend would cost at most a few thousand or tens of thousands of dollars, which they could afford.

Elara didn't expect them to be so shameless. "Do I need to remind you that your boyfriends are right there?"

"If you like, we can trade," Evelyn replied casually, raising an eyebrow. "After all, I just started dating him today."

"No need!" Elara refused firmly.

"Just because you don't need it doesn't mean your actor boyfriend doesn't," Evelyn insisted, her eyes still on Jesse. "I'll pay a hundred thousand dollars for you to be my boyfriend tonight."

Elara was furious, but before she could speak, Jesse's cold voice rang out, "Do I look like someone who needs a hundred thousand dollars?"

No, with Jesse's outfit, he clearly wasn't.

"Let me formally introduce my boyfriend, Jesse," Elara said, wanting to get this over with. "We have dinner plans, so we won't be staying long. See you."

"Wait," Evelyn called out.

Elara and Jesse stopped.

"Didn't your boyfriend say he was taking us inside for dinner?" Evelyn was very interested in dining at Fresh Harvest Eatery, as it represented status, connections, and prestige.

"He only said to meet you at the entrance, not to treat you to dinner," Elara answered for Jesse.

Evelyn laughed, finding it absurd. "He may not know better, but you should. Do you know what kind of place Fresh Harvest Eatery is? It's not somewhere you can just walk into."

"It might be difficult for you, but for Jesse, it's as easy as walking in," Elara mocked them.

"Then go ahead and show us," Evelyn laughed, not believing them at all.

"Alright," Elara responded, already imagining their faces when they got inside. "Jesse, let's go."

Jesse gently held her hand. "Okay."

Evelyn and others stood there, waiting to see Elara and Jesse make fools of themselves. Despite Elara's family owning the Gonzalez Group, this place wasn't somewhere she could just walk into.

While they imagined various scenarios, Jesse walked up and gave his name. After a simple verification, Jesse and Elara were politely and courteously led inside. The whole process was smooth, without any disputes or obstacles.
