Chapter 655 Spoiling the Younger Sister
"On the night of December 25th, my dad arranged a fireworks show in the park," Lon told her, his eyes filled with a sincere invitation. "You and Daphne both love fireworks, right? We specifically invited you."
Diana was initially happy, but then her expression turned a bit melancholic as if she remembered something.
Lon noticed, "What's wrong?"
"I can't go," Diana said, holding the invitation in her hand.
Lon paused and asked, "Why?"
"Charles is coming to our house tomorrow to take Louis and me to Ivrea City," Diana explained, handing the invitation back to Lon. "We won't be back until the 28th."
Lon's eyes dimmed a bit. It was clear he had come specifically to invite Diana.
Even the fireworks show was arranged by Gilbert at Lon's request to invite Diana to their home.
"If you like, I can ask my mom and dad to arrange another one when I get back," Diana added.
"It's okay," Lon forced a smile. "Next time works too."
If the date hadn't already been set, Lon would have asked Gilbert to change it.
"Here, have some candy," Diana said, handing him a piece with a sweet smile.
Although Louis didn't let her eat candy, she always carried some with her in case a child started crying, she could cheer them up.
Lon took it, hesitating to speak.
Diana knew Lon very well and tilted her head, asking, "Are you upset?"
"Does Charles have any kids at home?"
"No."
"When you go there, will you play with them as much as you do with me?" Lon tightened his grip on the candy, showing how much he cared about Diana.
"No," Diana answered quickly, her face full of a healing, cute smile.
"If you meet someone as good-looking as Eddy, will you forget about me?" Lon's sense of crisis seemed particularly strong, and his possessiveness over Diana was evident.
At this moment, Lon didn't realize that Diana was just a playful child, who wouldn't think too much.
Diana answered from her heart, "No!"
"Then you must call me every day," Lon said, finding an excuse. "If you have any questions, you can ask me."
"No need, I have Louis!" Diana said crisply.
In her mind, Louis knew everything about schoolwork, even Lon and Noe couldn't compare to Louis.
Lon opened his mouth, trying to say something but didn't.
"Let's go inside," Diana said, holding his hand with a sweet smile and a soft voice. "Mom bought me new toys. Since I won't be able to play with them during the break, you can help me take care of them."
"Okay," Lon agreed quickly.
In the living room.
Lon greeted Daphne and Benjamin before heading upstairs with Diana.
Diana and Lon's conversation was overheard by Daphne, Benjamin, and Louis.
"Mom," Louis suddenly had an idea.
Daphne turned her attention from Diana and Lon. "Yes?"
"Don't let Diana go to the same school as Lon and Noe, not until college," Louis suggested.
Benjamin wasn't surprised, he was used to Louis's unexpected words.
Daphne was still puzzled. "Why?"
"Diana is very playful. Although she and Lon are just playing role-playing games, you know her ," Louis hinted. "Lon, although a child, is very emotional."
While they were still young, some things could be controlled.
If they stayed in the same school, with Lon being a grade ahead, he might unknowingly develop real feelings for her.
Daphne paused, still not used to Louis being so emotionally aware. "Which school do you want to go to?"
"It's up to her. We probably won't be in the same school," Louis said directly. "I'm planning to start elementary school after the summer break next year. You can help me choose the best one."
"You'll only be five next year," Daphne reminded him.
Even Daphne started elementary school at six and then gradually skipped grades.
"I can do it." Louis was confident in himself. The books and exercises he did every day weren't for nothing.
Only by excelling in his studies could he be Diana's safe haven while she was still in school.
Diana only needed to be happy; she didn't need to worry about work or making money.
"Alright," Benjamin agreed, giving the children absolute freedom. "We'll arrange it."
"Diana..." Louis asked tentatively.
"She'll probably want to go to the same school as you. It won't be too hard to enroll her when she's old enough," Benjamin said, formally explaining to him. "It might be harder for you at your age."
Louis nodded and continued working on his puzzle.
If Diana went to the same school as him, he could protect her a bit more.
Meanwhile, upstairs.
Lon was also talking to Diana about this issue.
Lon had previously asked Gilbert if he could start elementary school with Diana, but Gilbert had flatly refused.
"Diana."
"Yes?"
"Which elementary school do you want to go to?" Lon asked seriously, still holding her toy.
"I'll go wherever Louis goes." Diana didn't care much about schools and had no particular preference.
Lon pressed his lips together. "I'm starting elementary school next year. Do you want to go to the same school as me?"
"If Louis goes to the same school as you, then I will too," Diana said, prioritizing Louis. "If Louis doesn't, then I can only go with Louis."
Diana's thinking was simple. If she went to the same school as Louis, she could ask him for help with any questions, and having a family member at school would be reassuring.
Lon's eyes flickered, planning to talk to Louis. At this moment, he had no idea that Louis was already planning to separate him from Diana.
That night, after dinner, Lon was picked up by the Fisher family.
Diana showed no sadness at the farewell. After waving goodbye to Lon, she happily bounced back to her room to pack her luggage, her mind filled with thoughts of going to Ivrea City with Charles the next day.
