Chapter 565 The Plan
"You guys can only fool yourselves with these little tricks, not me," Willie shot back.
Elara stayed quiet, just pondering Jesse's reaction from a moment ago.
Willie glanced at her and said, "He likes you."
"Why do you think that?" Elara asked.
Elara already knew Jesse liked her because she had kissed him. If she had been kissed by someone she didn't like, even if they were a good friend, she would have been furious.
But Jesse wasn't.
"Guys know guys best. If he didn't like you, he wouldn't have come to me," Willie explained, still looking chill on the outside while plotting in his head. "It's obvious he cares about you, but for some reason, he hasn't made a move."
Elara asked, "Do you have a plan?"
"Yep," Willie nodded confidently.
When it came to stuff like this, guys usually knew each other's weak spots.
From Jesse's reactions earlier, Willie already knew how to handle him.
"Tell me what's going on between you two, and I'll help you win him over," Willie offered, setting a condition. "Once it's done, have Jesse help me with my company's problem."
Someone who could easily talk about his startup's issues wasn't a simple person.
Willie had kept this hidden, even from Harold.
Elara didn't agree right away and got more cautious. "What problem?"
"Don't worry, it's nothing illegal," Willie knew Elara well enough. If she weren't so fierce, he would have tried to date her. "It's just that my startup failed, and I'm hiding it from my dad."
Whether Harold valued him or not depended entirely on this company.
Two years had passed in the three-year period, and Willie had planned to give up, but then Jesse showed up.
He thought they could help each other out.
"Show me first," Elara didn't want to agree to something rashly. "I'll decide after I see it."
Willie frowned. "Don't trust me?"
"Yes," Elara replied bluntly.
Thinking about his company's issues, Willie agreed.
He took Elara out of the club and drove her to his startup. Jesse, who had been sitting in his car and hadn't left, saw them.
Half an hour later, Elara saw the problem Willie was talking about.
She looked through all the issues and asked, "Are you sure you just need help solving this problem?"
"Yes," Willie nodded.
"Alright," Elara agreed.
Even she could solve this without Jesse's help.
However, Willie might really not be cut out for business.
"Can you really help me win him over?" Elara was still doubtful about this.
"Jesse just doesn't get love, but he has feelings for you," Willie had figured Jesse out, at least in terms of love. "As long as you do what I say, it won't even take half a month to get him."
Elara took out paper and pen from his office, "Write it down; this stays between us, and you can't leak it."
Willie asked, "Am I that kind of person?"
Elara nodded. "Yes."
Willie sighed, "Do you still want my help?"
"This is at most mutual benefit, not help," Elara replied.
Willie knew she was right, so he wrote it down as she said.
Elara gave Willie the lowdown on her situation. With everything written down, she wasn't worried about him blabbing.
If he dared to mock her, she'd report him.
"This is easy," Willie said confidently after hearing her out. "Tomorrow at 9 AM, come with me to City Hall. I'll get a fake marriage certificate for you."
Was it really necessary to go that far?
"Don't contact him for a week after that, no matter how many messages he sends you," Willie was ruthless, even calculating himself into his plans. "I'll have someone spread some fake news to him."
"What fake news?" Elara was still a bit clueless about these things.
"That after you married me, your life turned into a nightmare. I badmouth you everywhere, and I beat and scold you every day," Willie was well-versed in playing the bad guy. "And you can't stop me."
"Is that necessary?" Though Elara also wanted to deceive Jesse, she hadn't thought of going to such extremes.
Willie was a known flirt, but he wasn't known for being violent.
"You have to be miserable enough for him to realize it's worth it to be with you," Willie explained.
Elara thought for a moment and said, "But..."
"But what?" Willie asked.
"If he really likes me, he might beat you up when he finds out you're treating me badly," Elara knew Jesse's personality, and this was something he would do.
Jesse seemed cold and reserved, but when he got angry, it was serious.
"That's your problem," Willie continued, "When he comes to me, you have to protect me. That way, he'll definitely pull you aside to talk. You tell him that if he hits me, I'll treat you even worse when we get home."
Elara didn't know what to say.
This plan was indeed ruthless, but it would also ruin Willie's reputation.
"How about it?" Willie asked her.
"Is there a gentler way?" Elara didn't really want to use this method and asked tentatively, "If this gets out, it will affect you and your company."
"I'm not stupid. I'll only let Jesse know about this," Willie thought Elara was very naive. "If you want a gentler way, it might not work even in a year."
Elara felt much more relieved after hearing this, as long as it wouldn't have any negative impact.
"What if he doesn't like me?" Elara started worrying about another issue.
"I can guarantee 100% that he likes you," Willie was very confident about this, "And 100% that he'll come to you after this."
Jesse's emotional state was clear at a glance, no need to guess.
Elara was still worried, "What if he still has concerns?"
"If he's still hesitating, it can only mean one thing," Willie maintained his nonchalant attitude.
Elara asked, "What?"
"Either he's impotent," Willie laughed before continuing, "Or he has a terminal illness."
That was impossible; if he had a terminal illness, Daphne would have told Elara long ago.
"Stop worrying, trust me, you can't go wrong," Willie insisted arrogantly while playing with his phone, "I didn't get so many girlfriends for nothing."
