Chapter 433 This Position Is Not Yours
"What's her name?" Austin asked, feeling a bit more upbeat.
"Her name's Molly Lysandros," Daisy replied, glancing at his face.
She thought Austin might mind that Molly took her last name, but he didn't show any sign of it.
Instead, Austin's face lit up with happiness when he heard the names. "Sounds nice," he remarked.
"Let's head back," Daphne said, cutting in. It was better not to let Daisy and Molly stay out in the wind. "It's pretty windy here."
"Okay," Daisy responded.
Hearing this, the joy in Austin's eyes dimmed a bit. Were they leaving so soon?
Austin took another look at Molly in his arms, feeling a deep sense of reluctance. But no matter how much he didn't want to part with the kid, he couldn't keep her. With mixed emotions, he handed the child back to Daisy.
Daisy didn't know why Austin handed Molly back to her but didn't say anything. She took Molly and walked towards the car with Daphne.
Daphne opened the car door for her, and after the door was closed, Daisy noticed that Austin was still standing there, not following them.
Daphne got into the driver's seat. Knowing what Daisy was thinking, she impatiently said to Austin before Daisy could speak, "What are you standing there for? Get in the car."
Austin snapped back to reality, his previously dim eyes brightening up again. 'Get in the car? Do I hear that right?'
"I'll give you three seconds," Daphne said, not indulging him at all. "Three..."
"I'm coming!" Austin hurried towards the car, his eyes still filled with undisguised joy.
Daphne allowing him into the car meant Daisy was also welcoming him.
Could he spend more time with Daisy and Molly?
Thinking about this, he felt an uncontrollable surge of happiness and joy. He initially wanted to open the back door to sit inside but realized it might not be appropriate.
Daphne had always been very good to Daisy, and it was normal for Daisy to sit in the back with the child. But if he also sat in the back, wouldn't that be treating Daphne like a chauffeur?
Thinking of this, Austin decisively opened the front passenger door.
"What are you doing?" Daphne asked irritably.
"Getting in," Austin said, his eyes still filled with happiness. "Didn't you tell me to?"
"Sit in the back," Daphne replied coldly.
"What?" Austin asked, puzzled.
"This seat isn't for you," Daphne said clearly.
Austin decisively moved to the back. Normally, he would have cursed and complained, maybe even scolded Daphne for not understanding his good intentions.
But now, he didn't want to curse at all; he just wanted to thank her.
Since Daisy was discharged and came to the rehabilitation center, he often wandered around the center, naturally knowing that Daphne had put in a lot of effort over the past month.
Austin was very grateful. Once he got in the car, Daphne started the engine and drove off.
To see Daisy and Molly more often in the future, Daphne planned to let them stay in her villa.
Of course, the most important reason was to see how to raise a child.
When the car entered the villa area, Austin was surprised by the environment outside. The greenery was much more extensive than he had imagined, and the surrounding scenery was beautiful.
Austin always knew about the prime villa area in Gedser, with its twelve mega-expensive villas. But he never thought one of them belonged to Daphne, the Murphy Group's heiress.
"Ms. Murphy," Austin said, trying to break the ice.
Daphne thought he was about to mock her, so her tone was icy. "What is it?"
Austin wondered if he had ticked her off.
Confused, he got straight to the point. "Is anyone selling a house in this villa area? I wanna buy one."
"You don't qualify," Daphne said coolly.
"I got money!" Austin shot back.
"I mean you don't qualify to buy a house here," Daphne clarified.
This villa area wasn't for just anyone. You needed the nod from at least two current owners to buy in. She wouldn't help him, and Benjamin wouldn't either. The others were either abroad most of the time or just didn't want to get involved.
"Is there no way at all?" Austin asked, feeling a bit let down.
Daphne didn't respond, not wanting to waste more words on him.
When the car pulled into her villa's garage, there were already servants and bodyguards waiting. Daphne took Daisy to the second floor, while the third floor was for her and Benjamin.
Even though Benjamin wanted her to stay at his place, she had still set everything up for him here.
While Daisy was putting Molly to sleep, Austin pulled Daphne aside, hesitating. "Is there a house for sale in this villa area?"
"There's one," Daphne said honestly.
"Really?" Austin's eyes lit up with excitement.
"Yeah," Daphne confirmed.
"Can you help me buy that house? I'll pay any price," Austin said seriously.
Daphne shot him down. "No."
"Why not?" Austin asked.
"No reason," Daphne replied.
"If you help me, I'll agree to one of your requests," Austin said, laying his cards on the table. "Just think of it as a dad wanting to give his daughter something. Please help me."
Daphne paused, a bit surprised. "You want to give it to Molly?"
"Yeah," Austin nodded. In truth, he wanted to give it to Daisy. But he knew Daisy's personality. If he gave it to her, she'd never accept it, so he had to find another way.
"Let me think about it." Daphne didn't immediately refuse.
"Don't tell Daisy. If she knows, she'll definitely refuse," Austin said, knowing Daisy too well. He had grown a lot during this time. "I just want to give them something, nothing else."
Daphne glanced at him but didn't give an immediate answer.
Of course, she would tell Daisy. She couldn't hide something this big from her.
She went to the second floor, and Daisy had just put Molly to sleep.
Daisy noticed that Daphne had something to say and asked, "What's up? Did Austin give you trouble?"
"He wants to give a house to Molly," Daphne told Daisy. "A house here."
Daisy paused. She had been in the entertainment industry long enough to know that living here was a sign of status and wealth.
"We'll talk about it when Molly grows up," Daisy refused rationally. "If Molly wants it, she can have it. If she doesn't, she doesn't."
Daphne nodded, having guessed that Daisy would respond this way.
"By the way, there's something I haven't told you," Daphne said after a moment of thought.
