Chapter 556 Jesse's Protection

The car window was already busted, and Elara knew she couldn't risk her life.

Seeing her back down, Ralph felt a bit more at ease. "Get in the car!"

One of his guys opened the door as he spoke.

Elara felt a bit of relief too. If Ralph had hit her, she probably wouldn't have been able to handle it.

But if he took her to Willie, she was sure Ralph would be the one in trouble. Willie wouldn't dare mess with her.

"Wait," Ralph suddenly called out.

Elara, keeping her cool, asked, "What's up?"

"I don't know why Willie is scared of you, but let me be clear," Ralph, still holding a stick, looked fierce. "If you don't apologize to Willie later, I'll come after you again."

"If Willie isn't happy, I'll break one of your legs tomorrow," Ralph threatened, "Got it?"

"Got it," Elara agreed, but she was already plotting.

She definitely wasn't going to apologize to Willie. Should she ask Harry for a couple of bodyguards?

But if she did that, Harry would definitely ask why. If he found out what happened, she could forget about staying at Jesse's place.

What was she supposed to do?

"If you understand, get in the car," Ralph shouted angrily, his eyes fierce.

Elara pressed her lips together and, with mixed emotions, headed towards the car.

Before she could take a step, a dull thud suddenly sounded.

Instinctively, Elara turned to look and saw Ralph, who had been standing next to her, getting kicked away.

Before she could figure out what was happening, she was pulled into a clean, pleasant-smelling embrace.

Jesse looked at her confused eyes, his voice carrying a hint of worry. "Are you hurt?"

"What are you doing here?" Elara paused.

Shouldn't Jesse be at work right now?

Jesse pressed his lips together without answering.

He couldn't exactly tell her that he had been secretly protecting her these past few days. He had planned to step in at the restaurant, but just as he was about to, he saw Elara and her friend coming out.

Ralph staggered up from the ground, holding the stick towards Jesse. "Who the hell are you?"

"Go to the car with the license plate ending in 668," Jesse handed the car keys to Elara, whispering, "Lock the doors once you're inside and don't come out."

Elara wondered if there was going to be a fight.

Seeing her still standing there, Jesse urged, "Hurry up."

"Hiding in the car won't help." Elara pressed her lips together. "Their sticks can break the windows."

"They can't. I had the windows modified," Jesse explained.

For Daphne's safety, any car he used to pick her up had been modified with bulletproof glass, making it very secure.

Elara didn't want to escalate the situation, nor did she want Jesse to get hurt.

There were so many people here, and Jesse was alone.

"I'm talking to you. Are you deaf?" Ralph was furious.

Jesse shielded Elara behind him, guiding her to the car. He then took off his suit jacket and unbuttoned his shirt sleeves and collar. "I don't like fighting, but since you bullied her, you'll have to pay."

"Where'd this idiot come from? Get him!" Ralph barked. He was so confident, so sure of his guys, since there was only a single opponent.

Elara quickly got into the car, locked the doors, and called Willie.

Right now, calling Willie was the smartest move. She quickly explained Ralph's actions, laying it all out clearly.

Willie was freaking out when he heard. Even though he wasn't behind it, if something went down, Harold would definitely come after him.

He cursed under his breath, 'That idiot!'

Ralph's men were trying to take on Jesse.

These guys looked tough, but they were actually pretty weak. Jesse took them all down in no time.

Ralph looked at his men writhing on the ground and swallowed hard. "What do you want?"

Jesse didn't say a word, just walked towards him step by step.

His usually cold face was now even more indifferent.

"I'm warning you, hitting people is illegal. If you hit me, I'll call the cops and have you arrested!" Ralph was shaking, never expecting Jesse to be so formidable.

"I'm hitting a kidnapper," Jesse said slowly, "Even if the cops come, I'm not the one breaking the law."

Ralph was panicking. "Don't frame me. I was just inviting her to hang out, not kidnapping!"

"He wanted me to apologize to Willie," Elara got out of the car and spoke.

"Who's Willie?" Jesse asked.

"The guy I went on a blind date with," Elara explained.

Jesse frowned.

Elara looked at the terrified Ralph and added, "He also said that if I didn't apologize to Willie as he instructed, he'd break my leg tomorrow."

"I didn't!" Ralph was extremely flustered.

"I have a recording." Elara took out her phone. "Want to hear it?"

She had originally intended to call Jesse, but in her nervousness, she accidentally hit the record button instead.

Ralph stumbled, dropping the stick in his hand.

Just as he was about to say something, his phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, he swallowed hard and answered the call, "Willie."

"Are you out of your mind?" Willie shouted over the phone as he rushed over. "Who told you to mess with Elara! Do you know who she is? If anything happens to her, I'm done for!"

Given Harold's temperament, if he found out about this, Willie would definitely get his legs broken.

Ralph's palms were sweaty.

At that moment, a group of people quickly drove up from the parking lot entrance and stopped in front of Ralph.

Willie hung up the phone and got out of the car, looking very upset.

"Willie," Ralph spoke.

Willie kicked Ralph and was about to say something when he noticed Jesse standing next to Elara. Who was this handsome guy with an excellent demeanor?

"Keep your people in check," Jesse said coldly, exuding a strong presence, "If this happens again, I'll send them all to the police."

"What does this have to do with you?" Willie was immediately displeased, their closeness making his stomach churn. "Who are you?"
