Chapter 718 A Living, Emotional Person
Looking at Diana sitting beside him with a sweet expression, Caspian guessed she had something to discuss with him. He paused his work, took her hand, and squeezed it. "Why are you here so early today?"
"I have something to discuss with you." Diana took the opportunity to sit on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Caspian spoiled her; as long as it didn't upset him, he would almost always grant Diana's requests. "Go ahead."
"Two friends of mine have come to Ivrea City." Diana started with a preamble.
Caspian's expression froze, and his body stiffened for a moment.
This subtle change was clearly felt by Diana, who was sitting on his lap.
"You want to see them?" Caspian suppressed his discomfort, not wanting to argue with Diana.
Even if she only stayed with him for a few months, he wanted her to have a good impression of him.
Diana nodded. "Yes."
"Go ahead." Caspian raised his hand to rub her head, appearing perfectly normal on the surface. "Let me know when you're done, and I'll come pick you up."
Diana shook her head but didn't say anything.
Caspian's heart sank.
His first reaction was that Diana wanted to stay out all night with her friends.
"Aren't you going with me?" Diana asked.
Caspian looked at her, as if he had misheard. "What?"
"The reason I want to go out with them is to introduce you to them." Diana said this with a hint of grievance, starting her act. "Do you not want to meet my friends?"
Caspian didn't know how to respond for a moment.
Diana sat there, pouting. "If you don't go, then I won't go either."
"I have things to do." Caspian didn't know how to face Diana's friends. Deep down, he wanted Diana's attention solely on him, without anyone else.
Diana asked, "Can't you put things aside and come with me to meet them?"
"I can't." The thought of seeing Diana having fun with them made Caspian instinctively want to avoid it. "You go first, call me when you're done, and I'll pick you up."
"Liar." Diana glared at him, pretending to be angry.
Caspian was confused. What did he lie about?
Diana sat on his lap, looking aggrieved. "You said we could discuss it, but you didn't give me any room to negotiate and just rejected me."
Caspian was stunned for a moment, his mind slowly catching up.
"Do you not love me anymore?" Diana accused.
In Caspian's case, a little stimulation was needed at the right time.
But it couldn't be too harsh; there had to be some benefits.
"When you said discuss, did you mean you wanted me to go with you to meet your friends?" Caspian asked tentatively.
"What else?" Diana retorted.
Caspian stopped talking.
"You are my boyfriend. But besides posting a photo on social media, you haven't announced it publicly," Diana said with grievance. "You don't know what they're saying about me now!"
Caspian guessed, "That you're in a relationship and have no freedom?"
"I wish that were the case," Diana replied in a way that took Caspian's feelings into account.
Caspian thought,' What does she mean?'
"They say the photo I posted is fake, that you didn't show your face, and that I'm so desperate for a relationship that I posted a fake photo to deceive them," Diana said seriously, and it wasn't entirely a lie. "Don't you plan to help me prove it?"
This was something Caspian hadn't expected.
Normally, after Diana posted on social media, her friends should have felt it was a pity.
Such a good girl, how did she end up with him?
"You don't want to show your face, and you don't want to announce our relationship on your official account," Diana accused Caspian. "Tell me, do you have other women and are afraid they'll leave if you go public?"
Caspian raised his hand to rub her head. "What are you thinking?"
"Then will you help me prove that I have a boyfriend?" Diana brought the topic back to the main point.
Caspian pressed his thin lips together, and after much consideration, he asked her, "Do you really want me to go?"
"Yes." Diana nodded sincerely.
"I'm afraid if I go, I'll embarrass you." Caspian had changed a lot in the past half month because of Diana. At least he occasionally dared to express his thoughts, like now. "They'll think you're with someone who doesn't measure up to you."
Diana looked at Caspian with a doubtful gaze and asked, "Do you have some misunderstanding about yourself?"
"Not to mention you manage the Lancelot Group very well, and you're very good to me." Diana's praise was genuine; she truly thought Caspian was great. "Just your face alone would make them think I hit the jackpot."
Caspian moved his lips, not knowing how to respond.
Deep down, he felt he wasn't worthy of Diana.
He thought if Diana abandoned him, she could immediately find someone better.
"Are you going or not?" Diana asked again.
Caspian didn't know what would happen if he went, but faced with Diana's sincere request, he agreed, "I'll go."
"I knew you were the best!" Diana kissed him on the lips, feeling happy. "I'll wait for you on the couch. Once you're done, we'll go."
"Okay," Caspian responded.
After a moment, he collected his thoughts and returned to work.
Diana chatted with Eddy and another good friend in the group.
The photo Diana posted was believed by everyone, but they thought she might have edited it. After all, the Caspian in the picture she posted this time looked quite different from the one she previously posted in the group asking if anyone knew his.
They all wanted to see him in person, to see what Caspian, whom Diana liked so much, was really like.
At five o'clock in the afternoon.
The Lancelot Group reached the end of the workday.
After handling the last task, Caspian went with Diana to the appointment.
On the way, Diana kept telling Caspian what they were saying in the group, and Caspian listened attentively.
Originally, Caspian could see Diana's messages directly through account binding, but he unbound it the same day.
Caspian didn't want Diana to get too close to others and neglect him, but he also didn't want to monitor her life. She was his girlfriend, not his possession.
Diana was a person, a living, emotional person.
