Chapter 536 Ambushed

Evan noticed Sam working his butt off for the first time and casually suggested, "Why not just ask him when he takes a break?"

"Where's Sam?" Emma glanced around, looking a bit confused.

Everyone else was watching from the training ground, but Sam was nowhere to be seen.

After more than half an hour, Sam finally showed up, looking totally wiped out.

"What happened to you?" Emma asked as she walked over after finishing her training, "You've been gone forever."

"Benjamin made me do weighted runs," Sam panted, swearing he'd never trust Benjamin again.

Emma just raised an eyebrow.

She didn't press further and got back to the afternoon's training.

All afternoon, everyone trained hard without anyone supervising them.

Little did they know, Benjamin was watching them from a distance.

Efren strolled over during his break and chatted with Benjamin while watching the group train seriously, "You sure these kids can handle such tough training?"

"This is just the start," Benjamin's dark eyes were unreadable.

Efren handed him a document. "The higher-ups gave the green light. You need to set up a competition between Daphne and the network security team this weekend."

Benjamin asked, "Does it have to be this weekend?"

Efren replied, "Got other plans?"

"I've got outdoor training with them this weekend," Benjamin said, flipping through the document. Seeing no specific time mentioned, he asked, "Morning or afternoon?"

"The captain knows you're busy, so he left it up to you," Efren explained, "Just let them know once you decide."

Benjamin closed the document and nodded.

After training wrapped up that afternoon, Benjamin found them while they were eating.

Seeing him, Sam and Dominic immediately stood up and greeted, "Hey, Benjamin!"

Daphne and the others were curious about what was happening.

"I'm here to talk to Daphne. You guys keep eating," Benjamin said, sitting down next to Daphne.

Dominic and Sam quickly sat back down and ate properly.

Their behavior puzzled everyone else.

"You'll be competing with the network security team this weekend," Benjamin got straight to the point. "You want it in the morning or afternoon?"

"Aren't these usually surprise attacks?" Kevin chimed in, "Scheduling it kinda ruins the point."

Daphne nodded in agreement.

Benjamin paused.

"Surprise attacks give the best results," Daphne said energetically, "If possible, let's schedule it for this month, and I'll pick a random time to launch the attack."

"Alright, I'll talk to them," Benjamin agreed without hesitation.

Surprise attacks were indeed the best way to test skills.

After all, real attacks don't come with a heads-up.

"Let me know if you need anything," Benjamin's strikingly handsome face exuded a noble air. "As long as it's within the organization's rules, it's fine."

"A top-of-the-line computer," Daphne didn't hold back, "Preferably a desktop."

Benjamin agreed and left after they finished talking.

Emma and the others were curious. "When do you plan to launch the surprise attack?"

"This weekend," Daphne thought for a moment and responded.

The others exchanged glances. "Aren't we going for outdoor training this weekend? When will you have the time?"

There were no desktop computers in the jungle, and training left no free time.

"Benjamin's office computer will do," Daphne said, her request for a computer just a cover. She explained, "I'll tell Benjamin after training tomorrow and borrow it at midnight."

Sam started coughing.

Dominic's face changed too.

Everyone looked at them. "What's up with you two?"

"According to the organization's rules, you can't wander around after the bedtime signal," Dominic coughed lightly, worried Daphne would get in trouble, "If you sneak into Benjamin's office at midnight for a surprise attack, won't you get punished?"

"I'll give him a heads-up," Daphne wasn't worried.

If she got punished, so be it. It'd just be the usual tasks; at worst, she'd be too tired to move her fingers.

The two exchanged a glance and said nothing more.

After training on Saturday night, Daphne told Benjamin about her plan and got the key from him.

The process went smoothly.

As for the network security team, when they heard Benjamin wanted a top-of-the-line computer, they weren't too worried since they hadn't given it to him yet.

At 12:30 AM on Sunday, after everyone had gone to bed, Daphne quietly took the key and went to Benjamin's office. When she opened the door, she saw someone sitting inside.

"Benjamin?" Daphne was a bit surprised.

Benjamin had already set up the computer for her and gestured for her to come over. "Most people are asleep now. Although there are people on duty, it shouldn't be a big problem."

"Do I really have to attack the network?" Daphne was still a bit nervous.

Benjamin nodded. "Yes, whoever leaves a 'KO' on the opponent's computer first wins."

Hearing this, Daphne didn't hesitate and naturally sat down in Benjamin's chair.

Before she started, Benjamin handed her a glass of water.

Daphne thanked him and got to work.

The surprise attack came so quickly that the security team didn't even have time to react before it was over.

Daphne's attacks were always undetectable at first, and by the time they noticed, it was too late.

In just over half an hour, she had finished the attack.

The security team's computer screens were neatly filled with 'KO'.

"I'm done," Daphne took her hands off the keyboard.

Benjamin's dark eyes showed a lazy smile. Before he could say anything, his phone started buzzing.

He looked at it; it was a call from the captain of the security team.

"What's up?" Benjamin answered the call, his voice low and smooth with a hint of a smile.

"What do you think?" The person on the other end was already frustrated, looking at the huge 'KO' on the screen. "Didn't you say you needed a top-of-the-line computer? Why did you suddenly act?"

"I said I needed a top-of-the-line computer, but I never said I would use it for the competition," Benjamin replied nonchalantly, his deep voice very pleasant, "If I remember correctly, I told you there would be a surprise attack sometime this month."

The captain of the security team was silent for a moment before saying, "But you can't do this."

They usually took their duties very seriously.

Considering they had a tough battle coming up, they let their elite members rest, thinking they would be ready once the computer was given to Benjamin.

But they got ambushed instead.
