Chapter 254 Meeting Michael

"Okay." Daphne hesitated for a moment, worried he might be concerned, but still took it. "Thank you, Benjamin."

Benjamin didn't say anything. His deep eyes were filled with complex emotions as he looked at her.

He wanted to keep her from going into danger.

But he also knew Michael was the one they were determined to catch.

After a long pause, Benjamin called her name, "Daphne."

Daphne asked, "What's up?"

"Don't get into trouble." Benjamin, who was much taller than her, spoke with a voice full of complexity.

Daphne said, "Okay."

Benjamin glanced at Kevin and Evan a few more times, finally patting each of them on the shoulder twice.

After that, Daphne gave Kevin some instructions, telling him to contact Charles if necessary. Once everything was explained, they left the conference room.

Benjamin took them to dinner, and after they finished, he went home with Daphne.

As Daphne opened the door, Benjamin said to her, "When you come back, I'll promise you one thing, anything."

"Okay," Daphne agreed.

She just wanted Benjamin to let go of what had happened before.

She had been living in fear these past few days.

As soon as she closed the door, she sensed that someone had been in the room. She guessed it was someone Michael had sent.

It was probably Nina who cracked her door code and let them in.

She had always just installed the lock without much thought, and it wasn't encrypted.

Pretending not to notice, she walked to the living room sofa without even changing her shoes, tossed her phone on the table, and leaned back on the sofa, looking exhausted.

The reason she didn't change her shoes was to avoid being caught off guard in slippers if she got knocked out.

Slippers would be inconvenient.

She didn't stay on the sofa for long; she just rested briefly before heading to the bedroom.

The moment she walked in, she noticed three people hiding in her bedroom and pinpointed their locations, but she continued to act nonchalant, even giving them the best position to knock her out.

She didn't know where Michael intended to take her.

Whether it was within the country or abroad was uncertain.

So she ventured alone, using his hatred for Charles to get closer step by step.

A stick came down on the back of her neck with a gust of wind.

The moment she felt it, Daphne reflexively wanted to grab the stick and fight back, but she forcibly suppressed the urge.

After all, she was just an ordinary girl now.

The stick hit the back of her head.

She instinctively frowned and pretended to faint, falling to the ground.

As she fell, she silently vowed to return the blow later.

It hurt too much.

"Is she out?"

"She's out."

Two men's voices sounded in the room.

Soon, there was a rustling sound, and her body was dragged up, her hands and feet bound, and tape placed over her mouth.

"Isn't she already out? Why tie her up?" Kayla's voice suddenly appeared. "What if her hands and feet get numb?"

"That's none of your business," the man replied, "You just need to come with us."

Kayla bit her lip and said nothing.

She instinctively resisted and rejected their words.

She didn't want to go back to that terrifying place, but she knew she had no choice.

After more than ten minutes, the man received a call.

It was from Nina.

"The surveillance is covered. The left elevator will take you directly to the underground parking lot," Nina instructed, "No one will appear for the next ten minutes. Get her out quickly."

The man replied, "Okay."

After hanging up, Daphne was carried away.

At that moment, Benjamin was in the study discussing Michael's situation, so he didn't hear any commotion from Daphne's side.

The study's soundproofing was better than the living room's, so he couldn't hear anything from outside.

Throughout the night, Daphne kept her eyes closed, pretending to be unconscious. She was transported by car, boat, and private plane.

By the time they were getting off the private plane, it was almost dawn in Gedser, but the place they were taking her was still around 10 PM.

There was an eight or nine-hour time difference.

Sitting on the plane, Daphne felt it was time to wake up, so she pretended to open her eyes slowly.

Of course, to avoid suspicion, she followed the procedure and asked them a few questions after the tape was removed from her mouth.

"Where is this place?"

"Who are you?"

"Why am I here?"

"What do you want?"

Their answers were uniform. "Our boss will tell you when we get there."

Daphne pretended to struggle and get angry, even arguing with Kayla, but Kayla's acting and responses were perfect.

She successfully fooled everyone.

After getting off the plane, the rope on Daphne's feet was untied; she and Kayla were taken to a private car. Daphne's eyes were covered, but Kayla's were not.

Regardless, Daphne's tracker was already transmitting her location in real time to Benjamin and the remaining team members' devices.

They also recorded the route.

But none of that mattered; they couldn't capture anyone in this place.

After about half an hour, the car stopped at an estate, and Daphne and Kayla were taken out.

As they entered, Daphne could clearly sense Kayla's fear.

"Sir," one of the kidnappers said, "we've brought the two people you wanted."

"Lock Daphne in the basement," Michael, dressed in a fine suit and holding a glass of wine, looked very refined. "As for Kayla, leave her here."

"Yes!" The two men immediately took action.

Kayla's face turned pale.

Before she could speak, Daphne stopped in front of Michael and coldly asked, "Who are you? Why did you kidnap me?"

"Ms. Murphy is my guest. How could you treat her like this?" Michael's smile was devilish. "Take off Ms. Murphy's blindfold."

The two men immediately removed Daphne's blindfold.

As her vision returned, the bright light made Daphne squint instinctively.

Once her eyes adjusted to the light, she frowned and looked at Michael with displeasure, stubbornly demanding an answer.

At the same time, she confirmed that this was indeed the person.

"Don't worry. As long as you listen to me, I guarantee you won't be in any danger," Michael said, swirling his wine glass, his thin lips curving into a charming smile.

He was incredibly handsome, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, exuding an extraordinary aura.

However, despite this, Kayla was still extremely afraid of him, always wanting to escape.
